Hurych, Jan ; Niederlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Polák, Jakub (referee)
The paper concerns itself with the question, which risks are associated with the lack of sleep especially with the ability to make decisions. It analyses a number of processes, which can have an effect on the process of decision-making: vigilance, attention, memory, emotions, divergent and flexible thinking, executive functions and at least but not last also the ability to communicate clearly. Some benefits and risks of routinely available countermeasures are also discussed. The sleep deprivation is associated with a significant number of negative consequences, which can affect the processes mentioned above, thus it can have a detrimental impact on decision-making itself. The commonly available countermeasures are not effective in compensating for all of these consequences, only the sleep in sufficient quality and quantity is. The Effect of Personal Causality Orientation on Adherence in Outpatient Physiotherapy
Kuta, Igor ; Niederlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
(in English) This master thesis deals with themes of motivations and compliance to treatment recommendations in outpatient physiotherapy. In the theoretical section it brings an introduction to the issue of adherence as a part of medical rehabilitation. It sheds some light on the importance of the research in this field and structures its span according to prescribed diagnoses and other criteria. It also shows distinctions in concepts of compliance, concordance and adherence and summarizes the findings of the most relevant directions of motivation research in this area of study. The aim of the empirical part is to capture relations between the distribution of patients' personal causality orientation and their adherence to treatment, along with others, e.g. demographic variables. The analysis of 113 patients' questionnaires showed that there is a statistically significant relation between both the internal and external causality orientation and the degree of adherence.

Volf, Petr ; Niederlová, Markéta (referee) ; Boukalová, Hedvika (referee)
The thesis aims to expand the possibilities for diagnosing sentenced persons by the Freiburg Personality Inventory, which appears to be, in terms of penal custody as a useful tool. There is only one Slovak translation of this method from 1984 including standards for a population already existent state. Its use is problematic past 23 years and unextended. In contrast, demand for updated diagnostic tools that are not too time-consuming and difficult to administrate, and which would also underwent scaling to a specific population sample, creates space for effective use of the FPI in penitentiary practice. The theoretical part contains introduction to the method, theoretical background and the basis of the FPI and its comparison with other instruments used for personality diagnostics, possibilities and limits of its use. At the same time it focuses on the specifics of the prison population, the description of the personality in terms of its structure and dynamics, and the possibility of diagnostics including the currently used diagnostic tools. It also includes a summary of intervention programs implemented in prisons of the Czech Republic. The main outputs of the empirical part are standards of FPI - K for prison population and a shortened, 47 item variant of FPI - V, while maintaining psychometric...

Vojtíšková, Anna ; Niederlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Šivicová, Gabriela (referee)
The thesis Safety line workers mental hygiene deals about psychohygiene of consultants, who provide crisis intervention to children and adolescents over the phone. Topics such as mental hygiene and phone crisis intervention are elaborated in the first part of the thesis and the Safety line organization is discussed in detail as well. An empirical part of the thesis deals about types of psychohygiene which are used by the Safety line consultants. It has been discovered, that the Safety line workers use forms of psychohygiene, which the organization has to offer. A chance to discuss specific problems with shift team lead is mostly appreciated by them as well as the fact, that there are teams at the Safety line therefore consultants are not alone for solving issues. Hypotheses used for discovering the connection between socio-demografic entries and psychohygiene haven't been rejected except one. The only hypothesis, which could be rejected, was related to the lengths of practice at the Safety line and level of mental balance. The goal of this thesis was to chart methods of mental hygiene of the Safety line workers and thus to show them ways, how to nurture themselves and how to reach mental equilibrium while working for the Safety line.
Emotional intelligence and possibilities of its recognition and application
Maršálek, Jan ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Niederlová, Markéta (referee)
The aim of the theorethical part of the thesis is to describe basic charac- teristics of concept of the emotional intelligence. The thesis summarizes two main theoretical approaches to EI: Mayer, Salovey et al. (1997) and Goleman (2000, 2011). Several currently used EI measurement methods are introduced, along with some of the principal reservations against the EI measurement as such. Practical applications of emotional intelligence along with theoretical possibilities of further development of EI are also briefly discussed. The empirical part summarizes the findings of combined quantitative- qualitative research realized in a sample of scout leaders. Using MSCEIT (Mayer et al., 2012), the research revealed that the scout leaders reached significantly lower EQ score in general EI, in Strategical EI branch and in subscales Using emotions and Understanding emotions. Reversely, they achieved significantly higher EQ score in subscale Managing emotions. The outputs of the qualitative enquiry are in direct contradiction to the quantitative outputs; the respondents agreed consentaneously that the scout education improved their emotional matureness, they also provided many particular examples and links between scouting and the develop- ment of the emotional intelligence. Possible explanations for this contrast...

The research proposal is approached by the qualitative research interview or by the use of focus groups, on which basis the composition of the questionnaire, as the quantitative method for the final collection of data, is planned. The contribution of this thesis is bringing addictological studies closer to psychology and mapping of the affective component of the attitude towards Cannabis and its consumption. The identification of emotions can help with the integration of the affective component into current research and it can also be instrumental in understanding the reasons of young people for a repetitive taking of this...
