Václav (Remedius) Prutký OFM: Itinerarium missionum apostolicarum (introductory study, edition and translation with commentary on part I of the work)

The dissertation presents primarily the text itself of part of Itinerarium (the first 31 chapters) in the form of a critical edition. It thus greatly eases the work of all future researchers in studying the work in the Latin original. The edition was acquired on the basis of a manuscript autograph, the property of the Franciscan Brothers Provenance in Prague kept in the National Library of the Czech Republic. The Itinerarium ranks amongst the most important works from a file of manuscript sources, the authors of which are members of the St. Wenceslas provenance of the order of lesser brothers of St. Francis, who were active during the course of the 18th century on missions in Egypt or Ethiopia and attained a prestigious standing in the mission hierarchy (Jakub Římař, Remedius Prutký, Kristián Schneider). Their works, which are of a various nature (itineraries, journals, collections of medical prescriptions, language dictionaries, liturgical manuals etc.), may be valuable sources for experts in a diverse range of fields: oriental studies, Egyptology, geography, history, linguistics, literary history etc. With regard to the fact that Prutký's literary work is unknown to the Czech reader and has been presented only thanks to the translation of two chapters acquired in the 1940s by Z. Egyptian historical thought: the visitors' graffiti of the New Kingdom at Saqqara and Abusir as a case study

As an Egyptologist and historian I have tried to partner in this dissertation Egyptological and historical methods used on the topic of the uses of the past and on the issue of the presence of uses of the past in the Egyptian culture. There is a large discussion on these enquiries in both disciplines. I have focused on sources originating in the Egyptian New Kingdom (around 1540 to 1080 BC) and tried to analyse some issues related to the social memory and presumed historical awareness of this period. There is a specific material - a group of inscriptions called the "visitors' inscriptions" (Besucherinschriften). These texts are well-known to Egyptology but in my opinion deserve even more attention, being an attestation to the culture of a period literate stratum - the scribes. The thesis is divided into three major parts: 1/ the uses of the past - theoretical approaches, giving also the reasons for carrying out the analysis of the uses of the past of the ancient cultures, especially Egypt; 2/ the New Kingdom and presumed uses of the past in the Egyptian society of that time; 3/ the visitors' graffiti, including: state of research, the graffiti database project; the description of the graffiti in a statistical overview; interpretations and conclusions, attempting also to insert the graffiti into the...

Strategic brand management of Kofola

Kofola shows a perfect example of a successful brand revival and its further development. It prooves, that brand's history and knowledge are just one of many factors contributing to bilding a strong brand. The most important is the whole process of effective and strategic brand management. This diploma thesis analyzes the strategic brand management of Kofola. Its goal is to reveal the main keys to success standing behind both the brand's and the company's results. At the same time, several imperfections and unused opportunities are uncovered and on their basis recommendations for improvement are made. Part of the thesis deals with an own marketing research, based on a questionnaire method. The questionnaire focuses mainly on perception of Kofola's image and the way of presenting it in the last summer campaign. Based on the questionnaire results there is a hypothesis examined that people perceive Kofola's "retro" image positively and that this way of communication is the right way also for the future.

Motivation of workers of specific production in a small firm

The thesis is dealing with the motivation of human resources in a small firm producing the specialized medical equipment. The aim is to analyse the actual situation of a motivation stucture and work satisfaction through the use of an empirical research and to suggest recommendations for the improvement of this area of the company's human resource management. The theoretical part characterizes a question of work motivation, system of assessment and remuneration of workers including employee benefits. The practical part of the thesis characterizes these areas of the personnel work in the company and then it analyses factors of motivation and work satisfaction of employees. Results of the questionnaire examination are used for the suggestions of some measures for the improvement of work motivation, satisfaction and stabilisation of the company's employees.

Práce se zabývá problematikou personální práce v agentuře Pardubice První americko-české pojišťovny, a.s., AMCICO AIG Life s cílem analyzovat vybrané personální činnosti. Teoretická část obecně charakterizuje personální práci, funkce personálního útvaru a manažerů v řízení lidských zdrojů a vybrané personální činnosti - získávání, výběr a adaptaci pracovníků, motivaci k práci a vedení, řízení pracovního výkonu a hodnocení, vzdělávání a rozvoj, odměňování a zaměstnanecké výhody. Praktická část, za použití metod pozorování a rozhovoru, analyzuje vybrané personální činnosti, poukazuje na jejich specifika, hodnotí jejich provádění manažery prodejních skupin a ředitelem agentury, hledá možná a efektivní řešení pro určité oblasti personalistiky v agentuře Pardubice.

Postavení Španělska ve světové ekonomice

Práce se zabývá charakteristikou politických, ekonomických a obchodních vztahů mezi Španělskem a Latinskou Amerikou. Hlavním cílem je vzájemné srovnání těchto vztahů. Základem je položená hypotéza, že tradičně blízké vztahy a intenzivní politické vazby mezi Španělskem a Latinskou Amerikou ovlivňují jejich vzájemné vztahy ekonomické a obchodní. Snahou práce je obhájení, upřesnění nebo vyvrácení této hypotézy.
