Gender fluctuation of chosen French nouns
Műllerová, Jana ; Nádvorníková, Olga (advisor) ; Mudrochová, Radka (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the variation of grammatical gender on a sample of selected French inanimate nouns ending in -e and on the neologism covid. The first, theoretical part of the thesis defines the issue of nominal gender from a general point of view, based on work with grammars and scholarly works. The second, empirical part will focus on the analysis of selected nouns, in particular on the observation of factors influencing variation, such as frequency or word origin. The research will be carried out on the monolingual French corpora FRANTEXT, L'Est Républicain, Araneum Francogallicum Maius and Scientext as well as on selected dictionaries. Key words Noun, grammatical gender, gender fluctuation, French, Covid
Laboratory/Field Spectroscopy and Remote Sensing Image Data for Vegetation Studies
Červená, Lucie ; Kupková, Lucie (advisor) ; Pavelka, Karel (referee) ; Müllerová, Jana (referee)
Dominant vegetation species of two structurally and functionally different montane ecosystems were studied by means of laboratory and field spectroscopy and remote sensing image data: (1) a homogeneous human-influenced evergreen coniferous forest represented by a Norway spruce forest in the Krušné hory Mountains and (2) a heterogeneous natural ecosystem of a relict arctic-alpine tundra in the Krkonoše Mountains with predominance of grasses. The first part dealing with the Norway spruce forest is especially focused on the methods of laboratory spectroscopy. The assessment of Norway spruce stands on a regional and a global scales requires detailed knowledge of their spectral properties at the level of needles and shoots in the beginning, but ground research is very time-demanding. Open spectral libraries could help to get more ground-truth data for subsequent analysis of tree species in forests ecosystems. However, the problem may arise with the comparability of spectra taken by different devices. The present thesis focuses on a comparability of spectra measured by a field spectroradiometer coupled with plant contact probe and/or two integrating spheres (Paper 3) and proves the significant differences in spruce needle spectra measured by the contact probe and integrating sphere, spectra of...
Pupils relationship to physical activities depending on the interests of their parents at high schools in the selected region
Müllerová, Jana ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Mojžíš, Otakar (referee)
The thesis deals with the attitude of high school students towards sport activities and the relationship between their attitude and the interests of their parents. The theoretical part of the thesis includes the characteristics and the definition of adolescence - general definition, pedagogically - psychologic and physio-motoric characteristics. It also focuses on the definition of a physical activity, it's link to human health and the aspects which may affect it. Furthermore, the theoretical chapters of the paper characterize sport and it's function, leisure time and healthy lifestyle as linked concepts. This part of the thesis also mentions previous research conducted on adolescent physical activity. The research part of the paper firstly introduces the sample group and the research design. Secondly, it presents and analyses the survey and the questions used, compared with previous research. The final part of the paper focuses on the outcomes of the research.
Factors determining spread of Rumex alpinus on Krkonoše Mountains
Naglová, Šárka ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Müllerová, Jana (referee)
The problem of the Rumex alpinus invasion in the region of the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše) has been watched closely for many years. This species expels indigenous plants of this region and therefore threatens the balance of the ecosystem. The aim of this thesis is the identification of the factors responsible for spreading of the species on a selected area. The initial hypothesis expected that the disturbances of various species increased the sprouting of the species from the seed plants. Moreover, general knowledge was presented which introduced the importance of the characteristics of the environment during the spreading of Rumex alpinus. It was expected that the main factors would include the just distributed places connected to potential corridors (pathways, brooks, etc.). It was possible to prove that the higher the disturbance the higher the number of the new Rumex alpinus seedlings. It is therefore not surprising that this species can be found mostly along brooks, pathways and on meadows close to settlements and villages. Part of the results was the information that Rumex alpinus spreads faster on the local pastures. This could affect further spreading of the species in the region as the number of pastures grows. Key words: Rumex alpinus, disturbance, invasive plants, Giant Mountains...
Personal characteristics and sexuality of women before and after labioplasty
Müllerová, Jana ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Pastor, Zlatko (referee) ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (referee)
Thesis title: Personality characteristics and sexuality of women before and after labiaplasty Thesis objectives: Determine the personality and sexology characteristics of women requesting labiaplasty plastic surgery, including examination of the risk of physical dysmorphic disorder in these women before and after they undergo the procedure. The main objective of the thesis is to determine the basic personality characteristics of female applicants, conduct screening for physical dysmorphic disorder, determine the characteristics of their sexual behaviour, identify potential differences in comparison with the general population and further examine whether labiaplasty itself leads to changes in their psychological characteristics, or possibly to improvement of their sexual experience or changes in their sexual behaviour. Thesis methodology: The research was carried out by a quantitative method of questioning, in the form of a questionnaire survey through standardised questionnaires arranged in a test battery. Personality characteristics were examined with the NEO-FFI personality clinical questionnaire, while a questionnaire relating to concerns about physical dysmorphic disorder, known abroad as DCQ, and a specially designed questionnaire for women requesting labiaplasty, known abroad as COPS-L, were...

No indication of arthropod-vectored viruses in mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) collected on Greenland and Svalbard.
MÜLLEROVÁ, Jana
Arboviruses are a large polyphyletic group of viruses being transmitted from arthropod vectors to vertebrate hosts. They are important human and animal pathogens. Among the most famous representatives of arboviruses include the Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), Dengue virus (DV), Zika virus (ZIKV) or Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) etc. They are studied in tropical and temperate zones abundantly. However, in polar regions there are no traces of such viruses, despite climate change and the migration of vectors to higher latitudes. Therefore, the knowledge of potential worldwide occurrences of arboviruses is important due to their potential to be pathogenic for humans. Arboviruses were detected in many countries such as Alaska, Norway, Canada and in North America, but never in Svalbard nor in Greenland. This research study was focused on the monitoring of arboviruses in north Atlantic areas. Thousands of samples from the mosquito species Aedes nigripes were examined, both from Greenland and from Svalbard (collected during the years 2012-2016). I tested these samples for the presence of different arboviral genera; Orthobunyavirus, Orbivirus, Flavivirus, Alphavirus, Phlebovirus. No presence of arboviruses in examined mosquitoes were detected. These results may reflect an absence of arboviruses, or their prevalence is under the detection limit of our screening in areas studied.
