Princip zamrzlé evoluce a její projev ve fosilním záznamu: brachiopodi rodu Aegiromena Havlíček, 1961, ve svrchním ordoviku ČR
Mikuláš, Radek
The presented study is in a good agreement with the idea of a frozen evolution of the genus Aegiromena, or, more precisely, it illustrates a gradual disappearance of the ability to respond to the environmental change by a selectively advantageous change in its morphology. After its freezing, further evolution of Aegiromena brings very little news; only subtle changes in the size of adults, subtle and variable changes in the width/length ratio, and a changing variability of muscular imprints can be noted.
Open-air exhibition of rock types in Všeradice - proposal of the scientific scope
Žák, Karel ; Bosák, Pavel ; Cílek, Václav ; Mikuláš, Radek
The report contains scientific evaluation of the plan of the Všeradice Municipal Office for construction of open-air exhibition of rock types of the Barrandian area. General scope of the planned exhibition, as well as suitable rock types are proposed.
Problematické aspekty ichntaxonomie: tafosérie, "fotosérie" a "grafosérie"
Mikuláš, Radek
The probability of misidentification of trace fossils is extremely high if the authors did not see the original material but used only published photographs. Clearly, it is impracticable to visit all the collections containing the revised material and impossible to visit all type localities, but further caution against the use of photos or drawings must be done here. Photographed material can result in the effect named here “photoseries”: just the method of illumination of the object can make it classifiable as two different ichnotaxa. Diffuse light enables an annulate tunnel to be featured as Rhabdoglyphus, but raking light depicts instead “invaginated segments” of Fustiglyphus of idealized drawings is obviously even more problematic, as shown by nice “graphoseries” if we consider the original specimen, the method of its preparation, and the published figure.
New ichnofossils from the fluviatile Upper Carboniferous sediments of the Intrasudetic Basin (Czech Republic)
Turek, V. ; Mikuláš, Radek ; Libertín, M.
A Cochlichnus - dominated ichnoassemblage was found in the "petrified forest" (Lepidodendron etc.), documenting very short colonisation windows for the tracemaker. Thus, isect larvae are the most probably makers of the dominant ichnogenus.
Guide to the Post-conference excursion Sandstone Landscapes: Diversity, Ecology and Conservation
Mikuláš, Radek ; Adamovič, Jiří ; Cílek, Václav ; Hendrych, J. ; Líčenková, M. ; Mertlík, J. ; Mrkáček, Z. ; Petříček, V. ; Tomášek, O. ; Šoltysová, L. ; Vacková, D. ; Herben, Tomáš ; Kopřivová, L.
The Kokořínsko PLA, Bohemian Paradise PLA and Polická vrchovina Highland represent a high-diversity "sandstone phenomenon". Sandstones of the Bohemian Paradise can be considered as optimum for development of microrelief features influenced by saet erosion and case hardening.
Stop Fri/3:Dětaň
Mikuláš, Radek ; Fejfar, O. ; Žigová, Anna ; Kadlecová, Eva ; Ulrych, Jaromír
The locality Dětaň provides, in contrast to other occurences along the southern margin of Doupov Mts. a diverse geologic mainly in subaerial context.
Blanice Graben. Field Trip 1A
Martínek, K. ; Drábková, J. ; Mikuláš, Radek ; Šimůnek, Z. ; Zajíc, Jaroslav
Lithostratigraphic, biostratigraphic, and paleontological (fauna, flora, spores, ichnofossils) data of the Blanice Graben are summarized. The tectonic and kinematic model of the basin is done. Five important localities are described.
Pseudokarst caves in the sandstone rocks at Tisá and Rájec (Northern Bohemia)
Mikuláš, Radek
The area Tisá and Rájec is well known as an excellent example of "castellated sandstones". However, its caves, though common and interesting, have never been described in more detail. The caves occur often in upper parts of rock pillars, therefore, most of them are accessoble only by climbers. The most impressive example is the "Cave of the Falcon Tower" , i. e., a systém of narrow horizontal tunnels in two levels, reaching more than 20 m in length.
