The WWW is dominated by search engines such as Google. They are inseparable part of everyday search for information. Theoretical research field interested in searching, the information retrieval, focuses mainly on the natural language constructs - words. During the last years the field has been extended to other searchable content as well. The world of mathematical knowledge on the WWW has grown enormously. The importance of a general mathematical search engine is clear. However, this research field had been abandoned until very recently. Despite the fact that an active ongoing research is in progress, few practical results have been presented. The main goal of this thesis is to fill this gap. A new mathematical search engine was proposed with the focus on applicability. As the only capable search engine of indexing WWW effectively is the full text search engine it was used as the basis. The mathematical extension was designed as an extension which allows it to exploit and use all the advantages of the full text search engine. Most of the mathematical documents do not contain semantic information. The solution to this problem was one of the main goals of this thesis. Mathematical notation is becoming more important as software is more often used in day-to-day life. Schools are starting to support e-learning, science is penetrating WWW and search engines can handle more complex questions. In the present work, I summarise the state-of-art of available applications which support mathematical input and could be used for graphical user interface (UI) of a mathematical search engine - EgoMath. Since none of the evaluated UIs meet our requirements, I present the design and implementation of yet another mathematical user interface focusing on the identified issues. The main goal of the new mathematical UI is to help the user provide input which will be well understood by the underlying application. Input symbols can be selected from a large domain using a limited set of keys. This must be intuitive and the application should actively aid in this task by providing graphical hints based on the input expression in real time.
Mathematical Search Engine

Mathematics has been used to describe phenomena and problems in many re- search fields for centuries. The basic elements used in the description are formu- lae which express information symbolically. However, searching for mathematical knowledge in digital form using available tools is still cumbersome. We address this issue by presenting the mathematical search engine EgoMath, based on a full text searching, which can search for mathematical formulae and text. We perform an eval- uation over a large collection of documents showing that our solution is usable. Our approach can be used with huge document collections by applying one specialised technique. In order to provide a valuable evaluation of the quality, we built an al- ternative mathematical search engine using the feature extraction technique proposed by Ma et al. We propose important improvements to this solution achieving interest- ing results. We perform the first ever cross-evaluation of mathematical search engines based on different algorithms. A comprehensive survey of existing techniques avail- able, presented in this thesis, completes the picture of mathematical searching.
Designing and implementing GUI for PDF Editor

Thesis analyses existing PDF editors and focuses on creating new one that is user-friendly, simple and easy-to-use. The final product contains basic operations with text, images and annotations. It is also possible to view the changes via version control. Implementation was based upon existing project PDFEdit, created as a Software Project for Faculty of mathematical and physics at Charles university. It is using QT4 library for creating graphical user interface. The final product will be distributable to Windows-class operating systems via installation file and on system based on Unix via Makefile.

This thesis describes the common types of attacks against web applications and web pages in general, the protective measures against them and the specific application of these measures in the e-shop. The goal of this thesis is the safe application using common resources, without using third-party frameworks or existing solutions.

CLARIN-DSpace repository at LINDAT/CLARIN : LINDAT/CLARIN FAIR repository for language data

We will present a software solution for and experience in running a digital repository for language data and natural language processing tools - LINDAT/CLARIN. We will present unique support for licensing with an emphasis on Open Access, and how we support all 4 key FAIR principles. We will show the submission workflow including license choice, approval and publishing or submissions by editors, as well as the repository administration environment including license definition, signing and access control. We will also present repository integration with other services, and statistics of operation.
