Modern methods of supercharger internal combustion engines
Blaha, Adam ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is aimed at the supercharged engines with the internal combustion. Here are mentioned various types of a charging considering design and use, typical diagrams appearance and the boost control. Considering the name of this bachelor´s thesis the old types of charging or these which are not in use today for any reason are not purposely mentioned here.
Optimization for Engineering Design
Fedorko, Tomáš ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis concerns the problem of finding an optimal cooling solution in respect to cooling costs. It describes the problem of heat transfer, its analytical solution, numerical solution of the boundary values problem and its implementation in MATLAB using the FMINCON function. Individual results are presented graphically, as well as, summarized in calculations and interpreted.
Optimization of a Stefan problem with heat conduction and phase change
Březina, Michal ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
The thesis deals with the mathematical model for Stefan phase change problems. The model is then used in optimization procedures aimed at extremization of quantities describing the thermal behavior. The thesis also includes the derivation of the diferential heat equation, methods of energy accumulation and an introduction to phase change materials used for accumulation.
Computer modeling of heat transfer problems with phase changes in MATLAB
Zálešák, Martin ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
The thesis deals with numerical modeling of heat transfer problems in materials undergoing phase changes. The effective heat capacity method was used for modeling of phase change. The method was implemented in a form of programs created in software MATLAB. Their functionality was verified by means of computer simulations applied to selected test problems. The simulated results were analysed and evaluated.
Model predictive Control for continuous casting of steel
Zemanová, Hana ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
In this thesis an equation of heat conduction including phase and structural changes is derived, involving various boundary conditions. It seems to be the most suitable to calculate the equation by enthalpy method. In this equation not only enthalpy occurs, but also the temperature, and in consequence the relationship between these variables is quite complicated. In this paper I use the values measured or calculated using solidifcation models. The calculation is implemented in Matlab Simulink, which is a very popular blocks scheme in common practice of regulation. The calculation is based on steady state set up with help of experts and as a result, the program could be put into practice. The program calculates the intensity of cooling according to the initial casting speed, casting inlet temperature and the desired temperature curves. The rate of inuence of cooling can be changed according to the given criteria. The thesis compares the surface temperatures and cooling in the case of a predictive controller is or is not applied in the program.
Smart house
Král, Adam ; Pech, Ondřej (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
This bacherol’s thesis is describing, how is technology getting into our households and making smart homes. After defying, what is smart home and what is not deals with possibilities of their control, their effect on energy savings and raising of security. In the end there is an example of calculation of budget needed to reconstruct a house into a smart house and discussion about which direction will the trend take in the future.
Thermodynamics of ideal cycles of IC engines in Matlab
Pavlíček, David ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Key aspect of this thesis is toolbox, which contains functions for calculate ideal combustion engine cycles. Thesis is divided into four parts. In the first part is briefly described history. The first chapter contains description of real combustion engine types. In the second part, which is covered by the second chapter, is located thermodynamic view. Third part is whole about MATLAB. From historical introduction through description of individual functions to example how toolbox can be used. In the last part is comparison of real combustion engine cycle with ideal one, which has been created by toolbox.
Thermal measurement of the building
Kozák, Karol ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Infrared measurements, as a method of contactless temperature measurement, has spread rapidly in various branches of industry. Nowadays, in era of saving energy and financial resources spent on building heating, it has become an inherent part of revisions and controls of excessive heat transfer over thermal bridges. The aim of this bachelor's thesis in it's first part is to describe the theory of infrared measurement and heat transfer of the building and the second part is focused on application of theoretical knowledge to evaluate the results of practical measurements of buildings A2, A3, A4 and A5 on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, which is regulated by the technical standard ČSN EN 13187.
Refrigeration system with passive evaporator
Carbol, Marek ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with the design of a heat pump that does not use a ventilator during operation. In the introductory chapter, the functioning and the basic components of this device and other types of heat pumps are described. Properties of some commonly used refrigerants and oils as well as their classifications are stated. Due to the absence of a ventilator, a special heat exchanger was designed to achieve the required heat power. The choice of components in this refrigeration system takes into consideration the efficiency and functionality of the device.
Rankine cycle with water steam for power generation
Uhříček, Michal ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
The Rankine cycle with water steam is the basic thermal cycle used in power generation for producing electricity. Through this cycle thermal energy (of any source) is transformed into shaft work, which then generates electricity. Therefore, the aim is to achieve the highest efficiency of this transformation with losing as little of the usable energy as possible. This bachelor thesis is focused on describing the general thermodynamics cycle, the basic Rankine cycle and Rankine cycles with modifications, which help to increase the thermal efficiency. The practical part of this thesis is dedicated to programming the script in the MATLAB programming environment for easy thermodynamic analysis of the basic ideal Rankine cycle.
