Financial return of home photovoltaic power plant
Jančík, Josef ; Malý, Milan (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis if focused on return on ivestment evaluation of a photovoltaic system of residential house. The calculation is made for photovoltaic system with and without accumulation and in combination with other alternative source – heat pump. The costs of instalation and working of new systems are then compared between each other and with the cost of working of a current system without photvoltaic.
Optimal design of solar air collector with latent heat thermal energy storage
Zálešák, Martin ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
The thesis deals with the creation for a numerical model of a solar collector with a phase change material as a heat storage medium. The model was implemented in Python. Using the created model, design optimization of several problems was carried out with the use of selected methods of heuristic optimization. The results of the behaviour of the created model and of design optimization were then analysed and evaluated.
Analyze and economic time series forecasting by using selected statistical methods
Time minimization for vehicles passing a given trajectory
Suja, Jerguš ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with vehicle movement dynamics and defining a theoretical model for software simulation of vehicle passing a given trajectory, while main aim is time minimization driving mode. Simulation (algorithm for computing speed profile) is then applicated for passing experimental vehicle along Masaryk circuit in Brno. At the end, we optimize chosen vehicle parameters with derivate-free algorithms Multilevel Coordinate Search and Particle Swarm.
Heat transfer solution of solidifying steel system with phase change with moving edge conditions
Combined supercharging internal combustion engines
Melichar, Marek ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis contains a basic division of various types of combined supercharging and a description of their functions. For the most common types of supercharging technologies there are listed specific examples of usage in the automotive industry. This thesis also contains a short overview of the history of supercharging and an analysis of ideal cycles supercharged internal combustion engines. One of the most important chapters of this thesis is thermal efficiency of supercharged engines and their comparison with naturally aspirated internal combustion engines.
Optimization of Slab Concasting Via Numerical Model of Temperature Field
Mauder, Tomáš ; Čarnogurská, Mária (referee) ; Pyszko, René (referee) ; Raudenský, Miroslav (referee) ; Kavička, František (advisor)
The thesis deals with optimization of the continuous slab casting process. The thesis summarizes the basic analytical and empirical findings concerning to the solidification process, the numerical modeling and the selected optimization techniques. Physical conditions and factors that affect the quality of steel including their relationships are also described. The basis of the solution strategy is the original numerical model of the temperature field in its off-line version. The numerical model was verified by the real historical data. The optimization part is based on the fuzzy logic implemented above the numerical model. The optimization algorithm is used for the optimal control of the casting process. The universal usage of the optimization model is demonstrated on several cases, e.g. the finding of optimal casting parameters that ensure the high quality of products, the optimal reactions on breakdown situations, the determination of an optimal relationship between casting parameters, etc. Based on optimization results, the suitable caster modification to increase the surface temperature at the unbending point was proposed. The whole concept of the numerical and optimization model is general and it can be applied to arbitrary slab or billet continuous casting.
Combination of numerical mathematics and neural network for the model of breakout prediction
Srba, Jan ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with creation of breakout prediction model implemented via artificial neural network in MATLAB, hence it contains theoretical description of artificial neural networks and also presents how the networks were used for the breakout prediction problem. In addition, models of heat conduction through the mold wall were created and used for generating neccesary data for proper training of artificial neural network. The thesis contains proper description of used numerical methods for solving the heat conduction problems. In the thesis are presented partial results and also results of testing created artificial neural network with usage of real data.
Thermodynamic of Atkinson and Miller cycle
Böhm, Michael ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
In the bachelor thesis is performed a basic thermodynamic analysis of combustion engines cycles. For every cycle there is also a design for a real combustion engine. Subsequently, the Atkinson and Miller cycles are compared to the ideal Otto cycle with supercharger and without it in terms of thermal efficiency for the same input parameters. The results are evaluated and the use of the Atkinson and Miller cycle in motor vehicles is explained. Next, there are specific car representatives, which use these cycles and the development trends of modern cars.
Minimization of the car fuel consumption on the route elevation profile
Srba, Jan ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with mathematical modelling of the fuel consumption of a vehicle going on the route described by its elevation profile. It contains fundamentals of vehicle longitudinal dynamics which are essential for creating the model. The main goal of this thesis is to minimize the fuel consumption on given route using heuristic algorithms, hence a description of used heuristic algorithms and results of their implementation in MATLAB are presented.
