Hadron production in deep inelastic scattering of muons off protons at COMPASS experiment
Benešová, Vendula ; Matoušek, Jan (advisor) ; Zamkovský, Michal (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to investigate azimuthal asymmetries in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) of polarized muons on unpolarized nucleons using data collected by the COMPASS experiment at CERN. With a larger data sample than in previous studies, we aim towards reducing statistical errors of the results. To fully un- derstand the azimuthal modulations, this thesis gives a brief introduction to the theory of the transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMD-PDFs). We describe SIDIS process as well as the COMPASS detector set-up for SIDIS measure- ments and examine the process of generating Monte Carlo simulations through beam file extraction studies. The results of our analysis contribute to ongoing efforts to better un- derstand the quark-gluon structure of the nucleon, and the interplay between TMD-PDFs and azimuthal asymmetries in SIDIS. 1
Dealing with Nazi architectural heritage in Munich between 1945 and 2015
Matoušek, Jan ; Filipová, Lucie (advisor) ; Emler, David (referee)
Bachelor thesis abstract This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of attitudes to the Nazi architectural heritage in Munich between 1945 and 2015. In Munich, which was described by Adolf Hitler as the Capital of the Movement and the Capital of German Art, Hitler built several representative buildings to serve Nazi propaganda and to demonstrate the magnitude of Hitler's regime in the Third Reich. This bachelor thesis examines specific examples of Munich's Nazi buildings - Königsplatz, Ehrentempel pantheons, Haus der (Deutschen) Kunst, Führerbau and Verwaltungsbau. After 1945, when Munich was occupied by the American army, it was necessary in the post-war denazification to take a stand on these Nazi buildings in the interest of the city's new democratic future. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the history of Munich's Nazi buildings and research post-war attitudes towards these specific Munich buildings burdened by the Nazi past in the so-called architectural denazification strategies since 1945, when World War II ended until April 2015, to the opening of the Munich Documentation Center for Nazism. Based on research into the history and post-war attitudes towards individual buildings, I came to the conclusion that all studied buildings in Munich had at least partial suppression of their Nazi...

Nucleon spin structure studies in Drell-Yan process at Compass
Matoušek, Jan ; Finger, Miroslav (advisor) ; Aschenauer, Elke-Caroline (referee) ; Závada, Petr (referee)
Jointly-supervised doctoral thesis Title: Nucleon spin structure studies in Drell-Yan process at COMPASS Author: Jan Matoušek Department I: Department of Low Temperature Physics, Faculty of Mathem- atics and Physics, Charles University Department II: Department of Physics, University of Trieste Supervisor I: prof. Miroslav Finger (Department I) Supervisor II: prof. Anna Martin (Department II) Abstract: The nucleon structure is presently described by Transverse Momentum Depend- ent (TMD) Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs), which generalise the collinear PDFs, adding partonic spin and transverse momentum degrees of freedom. The recent HERMES and COMPASS data on hadron production in deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) of leptons off transversely polarised nucleons have provided a decisive validation of this framework. Nevertheless, the TMD PDFs should be studied in complementary reactions, like pp hard scattering and Drell-Yan pro- cesses. In particular the Sivers TMD PDF, which encodes the correlation between the nucleon transverse spin and quark transverse momentum and appears in the Sivers Transverse Spin Asymmetry (TSA), is expected to have opposite sign in Drell-Yan and SIDIS. In 2015 COMPASS measured for the first time the Drell- Yan process on a transversely polarised target π− p↑ → µ− µ+ X to test...
Impact of Economic Reforms on Contemporary Chinese Countryside
Matoušek, Jan ; Klimeš, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hudeček, Jiří (referee)
The Bachelor thesis aims to introduce the situation in the Chinese countryside and changes, which occurred after 1978 as a result of the economic reforms. The main part of the thesis discusses tax issues on the lowest administrative level and the tax burden on peasants of the 1990s. The thesis is based mainly on findings from a source called The Survey of Chinese Peasants Zhongguo nongmin diaocha 中国农民调查 by authors Chen Guidi 陈桂棣 and Wu Chuntao 吴春桃 and other relevant secondary literature. The final chapter informs about the reforms, which were conducted during the first decade of the 21st century and were supposed to improve the situation in the countryside.
Spin-lattice and spin-spin NMR relaxation of 1H nuclei in deuterated etanol and butanol doped by TEMPO radical
Matoušek, Jan ; Englich, Jiří (advisor) ; Štěpánková, Helena (referee)
The thesis deals with study of deuterated ethanol and butanol (ethyl-D5 alcohol, butyl-D9 alcohol) with a small amount (0 to 1.5% weight) of dissolved stable free radical TEMPO by methods of NMR. This system is used in polarized targets for high energy experiments. The linear dependence of spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation rate of hydrogen nuclei from OH group of an alcohol on the radical concentration and dependence of the relaxation rates decreasing with temperature (in range from 250 to 298K) were obtained. The T1/T2 ratio from 1.3 to 2.0 was calculated. This was interpreted as an effect of a contact interaction via hydrogen bond between alcohol and radical molecules. The linear dependence of the resonance frequency of hydrogen nuclei from OH group on the radical concentration was obtained. The slope of the dependence line didn't change with temperature. Using this dependence the hyperfine constant of the interaction between hydrogen nucleus and the free electron of the radical was estimated approximately 8·10-28 J. It was found out that the lifetime of the hydrogen bonds between alcohol and radical molecules are about 10-11 s or longer.

Matoušek, Jan ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the design of a newly built mixed-use building in Tišnov, as well as elaboration a part of the project documentation for realization of the building construction. The designed building is a multifunctional building, which has the task of providing several functions. The building is situated in the South Moravian Region in the northern part of the village Tišnov, which is located about 30 kilometers away from the city of Brno. Recently, in this area new family houses and apartment buildings have been built. The building is designed as five above-ground storey, partially basement incl. a separate underground car park. The first floor serves mainly for commercial use, ie. for the provision of services and for the sale of goods. There is a coffee shop, a houseware store, hairdressers, bakers, butchers, or a gym. On the first floor there is also the main entrance to the building, and through there is further access to the upper or lower floors of the building. In the basement there is a technical background of the building and access to the underground parking. The second floor serves as office space for multipurpose use. There are apartments on the third, fourth and fifth floor, with some apartments on the 4th floor being designed as two-level maisonettes. The architectural design is based on the concept of straight lines and sharp edges, which also presents a flat roof roofing solution and receding storey with terraces. The building is detached, situated in a relatively flat terrain. All entrances to the building are designed as barrier-free. The white-blue color of the building facade alternates with the use of gray stone cladding. The roofing of the mixed-use building is solved on two levels by a single-layer extensive vegetation flat roof.

Matoušek, Jan ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is a design of a new building of a family house with dental surgeries in Brno – Žebětín, as well as elaboration of project documentation for realization of building construction. The building is designed for mixed use - there is stomatological surgeries available to the public in the 1st floor, and on the 2nd floor there is the owner's and his family's apartment. Both sections are separated from each other, including separate entrances to the building. The building will be located on the edge of the northern part of Brno - Žebětín. The location is slightly developed by family houses. The architectonical solution is designed with consideration of the building location and the character of the surrounding housing development. The part for living in the family house is designed for a family with three to four members. The house is detached, it is situated in a flat terrain and is designed as a partially basement. The designed building has two above-ground storeys and a basement, which has a garage for parking two cars and a technical facility of the building. Entrance to the garage is from the side of the building. The main entrances to the building are accessible from the adjacent outer curved staircase, copying the arched shape of the 1st storey facade. The section with dental surgeries on the 1st floor is designed as wheelchair accessible - for handicapped patients with limited mobility. The white solution of the facade of the house alternates with the use of a gray stone facing. The roof of the family house is designed as a single-layer flat roof.
