The Downfall of Czech TV series

The thesis deals with the qualitative decline of the Czech serial production after the revolution, namely changes in the author-producer relationships, the impact of the introduction of the commercial broadcasters into the market and an internal development of the Public television. The thesis will also look at the changes in developement and production of tv series in the Czech republic. The thesis will be looking for the roots and consequences of this qualitative decline and will compare it with the socialist era as well as the profesional developement of the foreign tv series. Through the analysis of production processes, the text seeks to identify fundamental principles affecting the quality of television production and outline possible systemic changes to strengthen the potential for future domestic as well as foreign succsess of Czech tv production.
TV Perspective 2020 - Would television as we know it survive?

Master's thesis titled TV Perspective 2020 - Would television as we know it survive? describes a condition in which the television exists in 2015 and looks at the ways in which it will develop in the next five years as they develop different demographic groups and their relationship to television. Television as a medium is changing. The main emphasis of examining is focused on exploring different ways of changes that television has to undergo to survive in the ever-changing media landscape and increasing competition, especially from the Internet sector. Transformation of the viewer, who is increasingly turning to other variants of monitoring content, however, who is vital for the survival of such a powerful medium like television rights, is also examined here.

In this thesis I deal with the public media programming. On the example of Czech television, Irish RTÉ and Finnish YLE am I trying to show the current tendences in the programming of new project and format as well as to show the relationship between the public broadcasters and new medias. Within the programming this thesis deals with the various types of genres that are broadcasted by public media, on the field of development of new programs it describes the process of development of new projects in the institutions mentioned before. It also analyses the current programming and scheduling of the public media. This thesis also covers the current trends in European public broadcasting companies and shows the trends on the field of develepment of new programms and new media.
The effects of the process of digitalization on Czech TV

This work describes the effects of the process of digitalization of the terrestrial television signal broadcasting on the Ceská televize (Czech Television) station as a public service broadcaster. The introduction provides a basic explanation of the term digitalization and the history of digitalization of television production as the first stage of digitalization of the terrestrial television signal broadcasting. The first chapter presents a brief history of television and the television market in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic which also indicates the situation in the market before the process of digitalization of the television signal broadcasting began. The next section presents an overview of the legal framework of the process and the technological solution. In chapters dedicated to two new programme groups whose origination is made possible by a change in the broadcasting of the signal, their creation is described in the context and the first years of broadcasting are evaluated. The thesis also deals with the issues related to the emergence of new private television stations and their influence on the Czech Television. In conclusion, the audience is analyzed as one of the indicators of success and trends established by the process of digitization in the market and the future development in the television market from the viewpoint of the Czech Television station is addressed.

Thus it should help to better understand the changes that have occured in last years in the field of theatre marketing. It should also sum up the main marketing issues and issues of marketing communication.
Contemporary Dance in TV Broadcasting

The thesis deals with the phenomenon of dance in television broadcasting with an emphasis on contemporary dance, which is defined as a manner of artistic expression (dance as a way of entertainment is not in focus). The goal of this thesis is not only to describe the historical relationship between dance and television from the very beginning of broadcasting, but particularly to point out the possibilities of working with dance on the small screen and to provide arguments to support the idea that contemporary dance on television has the potential to be an impressive event. An essential part of this thesis is also an analysis of the current situation in the Czech Republic and a proposal of issues for producers in providing dance on the screen to the Czech viewer in the future.
Position of audiovisual industry in economic system of Czech Republic

This diploma paper deals with defining the absolute and relative position of the audiovisual (film) industry in the economy of the Czech Republic and its devel-opment in two fields ? the total output of economic system and consumed fac-tors of production. Through comparing of shares of the film industry in these two aggregates it is possible to derive its general economic effectiveness. This definition is prefaced with explanation of needed basic economic terms, theoretical bases and methods used. In its second part the factors are examined, in case of which we can assume the influence on this position, compared to its actual development. In the last, final part the measures are proposed that could improve the position of the film in?dustry in the economy of the Czech Republic and facilitate it to overcome its current crisis ? introduction of fiscal incentives and redefining the work of the State Fund of the Czech Republic for support and development of the Czech cinematography and sources of its financing.
Brand Image Building in the Sphere of Culture

This work reflects the possibilities of utilization of marketing commercial principles in Czech non-mass culture area. It gives basic information about the ways of brand and image building, the possibilities of their utilization and the risks arising in cases of neglecting the care of image and distinctness of the subject. It shows how the brand and its image are important not only in the field of commercial trade, but also in the cultural and artistic area. The work shows that the brand doesn?t have to be a company, but also personalities and artists. It deals with the specifics of culture, its profit area and non-profit sector. It deals with the example of Czech multigenre progressive scene ? Archa theatre. It explains the contributions of culture for the progress of the economics and for the society as such. It discusses communication, ?message? and the role of cultural subjects towards the society.
