Qt HDD benchmark
Matěna, Vladimír ; Marek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Šimko, Viliam (referee)
This thesis deals with data storage device benchmarking. Its purpose is to provide storage device benchmarking application with graphical user interface for Linux environment. The graphical interface is simple to use and displays results in real-time. Moreover a few common device benchmarking was done with application developed. The interesting results were briefly described as well as factors influencing them. Also general factors impacting results measured within the Linux environment were described.
Implementation of the DEECo component framework for embedded systems
Matěna, Vladimír ; Bureš, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bednárek, David (referee)
Recent development in the field of distributed and decentralized cyber-physical systems led to emerge of DEECo model. As many DEECo use cases are embedded applications it is interesting to evaluate DEECo on embedded hardware. Currently there is only reference DEECo implementation which is written in Java thus cannot be used for embedded applications. As part of this thesis C++ DEECo mapping and embedded CDEECo++ framework were designed using FreeRTOS operating system for task scheduling and synchronization. An example application designed for the STM32F4 board demonstrates usability of the framework. This thesis contains description of the DEECo mapping into the C++ language, source codes of the CDEECo++ framework, documentation and example application including basic measurement of its real- time properties. Integration Paradigms for Ensemble-based Smart Cyber-Physical Systems
Matěna, Vladimír ; Bureš, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carlson, Jan (referee) ; Brada, Přemysl (referee)
Smart Cyber-Physical Systems (sCPS) are complex systems performing smart coordination that often require decentralized and network resilient operation. New development in the fields of the robotic systems, Industry 4.0 and autonomous vehicular system brings challenges that can be tackled with deployment of ensemble based sCPS, but require further refinement in terms of network resilience and data propagation. This thesis maps the use cases of the sCPS in the aforementioned domains, discusses requirements on the ensemble based architecture in terms of network properties, and proposes recommendations and technical means that help to design network aware ensemble based sCPS. The proposed solutions are evaluated by the means of target systems simulation using state of the art realistic network and vehicular simulators.
Plánovač síťového provozu pro diferencované služby
Bali, Michal ; Kratochvíl, Miroslav (advisor) ; Matěna, Vladimír (referee)
Service differentiation, the ability of the QoS-providing mechanisms to sa- tisfy different requirements of different network traffic types, is an important part of the Internet service delivery. Usual methods of improving differen- tiated service QoS require centralized traffic scheduling, which on the other hand can not react to disturbances in transit network of typical ISPs. In this thesis we describe, implement and benchmark a traffic scheduler that is simple enough to be placed at the exact bottleneck of the network where it precisely reacts to network problems; at the same time it supports a multi-flow multi-priority stochastical traffic scheduling that guarantees a level of fairness and service differentiation. The design is built on previous research in the area - it combines the ideas of CoDel with SFQ. We implement the resulting traffic scheduler, called Multilevel Stochasti- cally Fair CoDel (MSFC), in the ns-3 network simulator. Benchmarks on a simulated ISP-like network show improvements in QoS of the differentiated services in comparison with other non-centralized classless traffic schedulers.
Mobile application for canteens
Mareš, Martin ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Matěna, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis focuses on the design and development of a mobile application for Android platform. This application can be used for browsing and ordering meals at public canteens. Unlike other similar projects, this application is extensible by plugins. This approach gives the user the ability to browse meals from different canteens in the environment of one application. This application also supports multiple user profiles and works in off-line mode. This thesis also includes a few plugins as an example and plugin development documentation for the easy extension of new plugins. 1
Advanced Sound System for Computer Games
Pasterčík, Patrik ; Ježek, Pavel (advisor) ; Matěna, Vladimír (referee)
1 Sound is one of the important components of computer games. To work with sound, there are special libraries called audio engines. However in comparison with commercial systems, open-source systems are significantly limited. The goal of this thesis is to create an open audio engine with functionality similar to a commercial system. The result of this thesis is a library for playing sounds in games that uses the XAudio2 library for processing audio data (application of sound effects and sending data to the sound card). Our library enables playback of complex sounds such as the sounds of car engine. This playback can be influenced by various parameters (for instance engine RPM) and various sound effects can be applied to these sounds (echo, reverb, low-pass filter or high-pass filter). The library also enables to connect the output of another audio source or transmit output buffer developers. The thesis also includes an editor for creating complex sounds. Editor also serves as a demonstration of the functionality of the library.
