The spread of invasive neophytes in the riparian vegetation of the Lužnice River
Eliášová, Kateřina ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Hrdina, Aleš (referee)
This thesis studies the spread of invasive neophytes along the South Bohemian Lužnice River. The literature search deals with plant invasions, floodplains and the area of interest. The riparian vegetation along the Lužnice River was mapped with emphasis on 17 taxons of invasive neophytes. The mapping was realized in four sections that were 3-5 km long. The results are compared with the state ascertained by monitoring in the same location in 2008. The results indicate a general increase of invasions and an intensive spread of Impatiens parviflora since the previous mapping. Generally widespread invasive taxa in the studied area are Impatiens parviflora and Impatiens glandulifera of the herbaceous plants. The occurence of Robinia pseudacacia of the woody plants is also common. Other observed taxa occur only locally or in smaller amounts. Modeling of potential distribution of beaver in watershed of the river Mže
Procházková, Zuzana ; Romportl, Dušan (advisor) ; Matějček, Tomáš (referee)
Diploma thesis is focused on habitat requirements of European beaver (Castor fiber) and conflicts arising thereof in the catchment area of the river Mže. Based on current occurence the potential distribution of this species is predicted. In the introductory part the model species and his habitat requierements are described. Further attention is given to occurence of European beaver in the area of the Czech republic with emphasis on the catchment area of the river Mže. On the basis of know data concerning occurence of European beaver in the area of interest the potentional distribution of beaver is evaluated based on habitat requirements using programmes ArcGIS 10.2 and MAXENT 3.3. These results are supported by terrain mapping in selected areas. Tables, grafs and thematic maps , which clearly represent the results, are part of submitted thesis. Thus, the main aim of the thesis is to describe habibat requirements of European beaver, predict his future spreding in the catchment area of river Mže and identify possible conflict zones. Fieldwork education from perspectives of different actors
Jakouběová, Ivana ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jelen, Jakub (referee)
Fieldwork is a specific component of education, which has the potential in a more complex demonstration of curriculum especially in the field of geography. We can only assume whether the classical form of fieldwork education is currently in decline, but new opportunities are emerging in the changing educational environment in which fieldwork could be used. This bachelor thesis was written with the aim of finding current potentials, but also the limits of fieldwork education. Based on qualitative research in the form of interviews, we want to answer questions about the ways how is fieldwork education used on different schools and how the main benefits and constraints are perceived directly by the actors of the education system on different levels. The conclusions are compared and discussed with the knowledge from theoretical part of the thesis. Keywords geography, fieldwork education, qualitative research, perception, interview

Light pollution of the Kladno region
Klauda, Ondřej ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bobr, Ladislav (referee)
Light pollution is an environmental problem caused by overuse of artificial light at night. Light pollution mainly affects densely populated areas and industrial regions. In addition to night sky brightening, light pollution also causes discomfort and has negative health and environmental impacts. The literature review of this bachelor thesis deals with light, light pollution and the study area in three chapters. The aim of the practical part is examination of interaction of landscape and light pollution. On the basis of field measurements by the Sky Quality Meter in the surroundings of Kladno, the effect of forest on propagation of light pollution is assessed. The working hypothesis assumes the barrier effect of the forest. The hypothesis is not safely confirmed by the results, nevertheless the influence of Prague on night sky brightness has been shown. Keywords: light pollution, night sky brightness, barrier effect of forest, Sky Quality Meter, Kladno region
Land use change in the Cheb area - new wilderness
Pekárková, Hana ; Bičík, Ivan (advisor) ; Matějček, Tomáš (referee)
The theses deals with exploration of new wilderness which comes into being in abandoned areas in border regions in the Cheb district. Using the newly defined transformation index, two cadastral territories in the district were identified with the highest probability of new wilderness occurence. The occurrence of a new wilderness was demonstrated in both cadastral areas and was categorized into typology already established. Photographs and ArcGis maps were added to the field survey. Post-habitat and post-agrarian new wilderness were identified in both cadastral territories. Further, there were identified post-montane and post-aquatic new wilderness. Despite the position near the border, where the Iron Curtain was located, post- military new wilderness was not identified there. New wilderness occurs in both localities on more than 10 % of area.
