Design Kalina cycle for geothermal power plant and its turbine.
Luermann, Július ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis analyses Kalina cycle, a power cycle where ammonia – water solution is used as a working fluid. The first part of this study introduces us to the Kalina cycle, presents its advantages and disadvantages, characteristics of the working fluid and its applications. Second section concerns with the method of cycle design and describes the calculation model made in this thesis. The calculation model is attached in a separate .XLSM file. The third part shows calculation of the cycle for given parameters, determination of cycle efficiency and main proportions of the thermal turbine. In the conclusion are the interpretations of the calculations results.
The design of components for emergency cooling of reactor pressure vessel
Katzer, Milan ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
My thesis deals with the design of an experimental emergency cooling device of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV). It consists of two parts, the theoretical one and practical one. Different molten corium cooling methods in terms of their efficiency and comparison are introduced in the theoretical part. The design of an experimental emergency cooling device, which incorporates a model channel past the reactor pressure vessel , is presented in the practical part. The cooling device consists of a model channel past the reactor pressure vessel, condensator, which takes away the heat generated by the reactor pressure vessel and the pump of a secondary loop. Next, thermal and hydraulic calculations are given in this section. The conclusion is devoted to the evaluation of particular cooling technologies and their comparison in terms of nuclear and technical safety.
Vacation property in stand-alone mode
Svoboda, Jan ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Suk, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the supply of electricity for remote vacation property. It addresses the issue of how each technology of alone systems are applied to a particular object, as well as their financial page. At the end are technologies compared and the most suitable one is recommended.
Spent fuel storage casks thermal and physical properties investigation
Hlatký, Pavel ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
This work deals with questions of spent fuel storage casks thermal and physical properties investigation. Foundations of mathematics which are necessary for describing field of temperature are included. The work itself contains calculation methods which are split into two parts. The first one deals with simplified analytic solution and the second part solves the whole problem by the numerical computation.
Design concept of the facility part for the educational objectives of the boiling crisis
Suk, Ladislav ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
Graduation these deals with investigation of critical heat flux in pressurized water nuclear reactors. Theoretical part covers fundamental terms from area hydrodynamics of two-phase flow and critical heat flux. Here are also mentioned the individual approaches to description of physical process of heat transfer crisis. Practical part is devoted to systems design of measuring stand for critical heat flux in vertical canal allowing visualization of two-phase flow.
Assessment of the thermomechanical behaviour of perspective nuclear fuel for reactivity insertion accidents
Halabuk, Dávid ; Suk, Ladislav (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
The objective of this master’s thesis is to simulate thermo-mechanical behaviour of nuclear fuel in a pressurized water reactor during a reactivity initiated accident. An important part of this work is focused on examination of processes which occur during such accident and on creation of a detailed overview of material properties of nuclear fuel and fuel cladding which are necessary for simulations that closely reflect reality. Simulations in this thesis examine cases of fresh or irradiated nuclear fuel for two types of fuel cladding, Zircaloy-4, a material that is currently used in nuclear reactors, and ceramic matrix composite material made of SiC. The thesis also presents comparison of results with a corresponding international benchmark and an assessment of the influence of selected input parameters on obtained results.
Clamping of parts
Martinec, Josef ; Omes, Jiří (referee) ; Dokoupil, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the description of types and ways of clampinq parts in contemporary praxis. A large part is focused on preparations. Thesis also covers both common and uncommon clamping devices used in praxis. The conclusion evaluates mentioned types of clamping and prospect of use in the future.
Design concept of the facility for the educational objectives of the boiling crisis
Vojáčková, Jitka ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design concept of the facility for the educational objectives of the boiling crisis. In the first part, the issue of boiling crisis is explained. There are also examples of some experimental facilities in the world. The second part includes design concept of a loop, which is accompanied by designs of individual devices, such as separator, condenser, exchanger, pump, water tank, electric heater. The thesis also states designs of throttle control, temperature control and flow control.
Nuclear reactors for new units in the Czech Republic
Brunčiaková, Miriama ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with nuclear reactors in operation, in construction and in project plans. Because of that it is a very actual theme. Czech Republic tries to solve the question about building two new reactors for Temelín-3,4. There are two competitors in this tender. First of them is the CzechRussian consortium MIR.1200 with the alike named project MIR.1200, and the second one is Westinghouse company with the project AP 1000. Both of these projects belong to III.+ generation of nuclear reactors. In comparison with the previous generations, this generation brings evolution changes and uses much more passive security elements. The project AP 1000 solves heavy accidents by passive security systems solely. The project MIR.1200 uses combination of both active and passive security systems.
Economy comparison of welding technology MAG and ESAB-SAT
Lžičař, David ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This project, elaborated in terms of Master’s studies in domain 2303T005 presents an analysis comparing conventional method of welding MAG and welding technology ESAB SAT^TM. ESAB SAT^TM is the new innovative method based on the principle of welding by the method MAG. The experimental part of the project is aimed to assessing the quality of welded joints, produced by ESAB SAT^TM, which part is performing selected destructive tests. Afterwards economic analysis by comparative method evaluates the measured and calculated parameters of welding.
