Contribution of VS LSS projects for the knowledge development in an organization

The thesis studies the potential contribution of projects of Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Specialization for the knowledge development in the participating organizations. Students taking class in compulsory subject Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Practical were participating in those projects. Mentors from participating organizations were interviewed. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history and selected tools of Lean Management. The significance of continuous improvement, as an integral part of Lean Management, is discussed. The thesis describes knowledge management and selected models of knowledge creation and transfer. The practical part includes a description of an employed methodology and interviews results. The thesis concludes a proposal of changes that can result in improvement of projects contribution for the knowledge development in the participating organizations.
Application of Lean Six Sigma methodology in a logistic process

The main goal of this thesis is to improve logistic processes at Anheuser-Busch InBev by aplying Lean and Six Sigma methods, in paticular, by using DMAIC methodology. Thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part methods of Six Sigma and Lean are described and recent tendency to combine these methods together. Each step of DMAIC methodology was described in details in theoretical part. In the practical part there is a project which aims to of improveme international transport flows from England to Italy and from Belgium to England witth the use of DMAIC methodology.

The Lean concept arises from Toyota Production Syste (TPS). Then, the concept of leanness includes Value, Waste and Continuous Improvement. An organization with high level of leanness creates higher value to customers with lower level of waste within a continuous improvement environment. The examination of these diploma theses determines a new approach of lean measurement. Although, the use of ethnography is new in Lean management, it opens new possibilities to understand the behavior of the people about the organizational leanness.
Implementation of Lean Six Sigma in Catering

The aim of the thesis is to suggest recommendation to optimize and increase efficiency in a process of catering ordering in a company Express Deli by using methods of lean six sigma. The work is built as real project od lean six sigma using some methods of the methodology lean six sigma. In the theoretical part of the thesis, methods of lean six sigma used in the practical part, are described. These methods are mainly methods of process mapping. Each chapter is a step of DMAIC methodology. Core part of the thesis is process mapping at a customer side, so in the other part there are all recommendations directly focused on customers requirements. The results of the work are suggested proposals for process improvement. Some of them were implemented during the project.
Application of the Lean Office methodology in the Football Industry

Abstract This Master´s Thesis focuses on the analysis of the business processes within the football clubs, especially the Liverpool FC. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the processes within the football club and to propose the way how to improve them by using the Lean Office methodology There are prerequisits that a vast amount of the processes are not being performed well in the Football Industry. That is why this topic should be very actual for this industry. The basic theoretical aspects of the Lean Office had been described in the thesis, as well as the aproach how to map the process and exact tools had also been described. Then the business process of acquiring of a new player is analyzed and the possible solution how to improve it is proposed. Those ideas have to be drivers for the ongoing improvement for the industry by implementing the Lean philisophy throughout it.
Evaluation of Lean management tools application at the Marketing department of the selected company

The aim of this thesis is to apply the lean management tools at Marketing department of the selected company, specifically at the proces of invoice approval and using this data check the hypothesis from stated sources. Theoretical part of this thesis contains the description of Lean management tools along with it's history and tools, followed by the description of the selected firm, where the lean projects done by the author of this thesis took place. Application part of this thesis contains the complete DMAIC cycle of the project dealing with analysis of invoice approval. Overall, the proces was shortened from 21 operations and 68 hours 11 minutes, to 12 operations and 50 hours 59 minutes a 40 seconds. Application part also comprises of analysis of excessive approval limit for invoices. Final part is dealing with application of the hypothesis on the concrete case of selected firm, meaning that implementation of Lean management will help improve the company financial indicators through NFMP.
The process of ERP system selection of a distributor

This thesis deals with the choice of ERP system from the perspective of companies engaged in the distribution of lighting signs. The theoretical part covers the concepts of ERP systems, current trends in ERP systems, different versions of these systems and the risks that may arise in this process. The practical part is focused on describing the distribution company, current ERP system that the company uses and the parameters that existing and new system have to comply. The primary aim of this thesis is to evaluate current ERP system offer on the market and to recommend the best suitable system for Dencop Lighting through decision matrix. For this part, methodology of analysis is used. The secondary aim is to asses risks that may arise in the process of changing ERP system.
Implementation of Lean management and preparation for Industry-4.0 in the company Alfa Plastik

The main focus of this Masters Thesis is the implementation of Lean management in the company Alfa Plastik. The second objective of this Thesis is to recommended procedures of facilitate the transition to a fully automated production in the level of Industry-4.0. Achieving these objectives should bring funding, by utilizing lean production. Funds saved by lean production should be used in trasformation of factory. Methods of Lean management were used to achieve higher production efficiency.
Streamlining Production Processes in the TCPA Welding Shop

The thesis deals with approaches to improving processes and with application of one to a selected production process. Currently, streamlining processes is of interest to many companies, not only manufacturing ones. The relevance of the topic is also evidenced by the number of publications devoted to this very issue. The aim of the thesis is to propose improvements in manufacturing processes in the welding shop through Jiskuhen activities used in Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile Czech s.r.o. The first part of the thesis defines terms related to processes and their management, followed by description of some of the widely used improvement approaches and their basic assumptions. The other part of the thesis focuses on the description of Jishuken activities and their subsequent practical application within the company. The thesis offers concrete proposals for improving processes and also recommendations for the management of these activities. This thesis demonstrates the philosophy of continuous improvement in the company, which serves as a reference point for other companies in the area of streamlining of processes.
Application of LEAN management in healthcare centre

The Master's Thesis reviews the application of Lean management methods in the healthcare sector. The theoretical section describes the background of Lean process management - its history, principles, methods and tools. The methods currently used to manage processes in the healthcare sector are then described. The practical section of the thesis tests whether these processes could be improved by implementing a Lean methodology. A project was undertaken in a healthcare centre where the principles, tools and methods described in the theoretical section were applied. The project consisted of five phases, according to DMAIC cycle. The conclusion of the Master Thesis summarises the findings and results which evidence the improvement of the processes in this specific healthcare centre after the implementation of a Lean methodology.
