Evaluation of psychical load on a selected workplace
MARKOVÁ, Veronika
In recent years, the interest in mental strain has increased, mainly due to the increasing demands of the individual professions. The consequences of mental strain can also influence private life, so it is important to solve such situation. The diploma thesis deals with the psychological burden of the employees in a private company that produces CNC machine parts. The aim was to find out what the level of mental strain on all employees of the company is, using the method of quantitative and qualitative research. Three research questions have been identified. I have examined whether the demographic factors of the worker, the physical factors in the working environment and the way of rest after work affect the psychological burden. The investigation was carried out using three hypotheses. I assumed that a significant level of psychological burden would be present in relation to the age and that it would also vary by gender. I also expected that the differences in the level of psychological burden would be present depending on the length of the years worked in the company. A qualitative survey was conducted using sixteen open questions in a semi-structured interview. The results were divided into eleven categories and there was a mind map created for each of them. For better understanding of the mind maps, the data was extended by quantitative questionnaire research, which was implemented using standardized CBI questionnaires (Copenhagen Burnout Inventory) and the Meister questionnaire. Questionnaire survey was carried out at each workplace of the surveyed company. The data were processed statistically and graphically. Mixed research has not shown a significant level of mental strain on company employees. When compared the ratio of mental strain in relation to gender, it has shown that the strain on both men and women is the same. The length of employment in the company has not reflected into increased rates of mental strain.

Character and significance of discovery voyages in the era of Elizabeth I
Marková, Veronika ; Kovář, Martin (referee) ; Skřivan, Aleš (advisor)
The English Queen Elizabeth I supported naval exploration. English voyages overseas differed in character according to their destinations. At first, voyages northward had been pure voyages of discovery aimed at finding a northwest passage. Only later on, they also became voyages of colonization. The closer the English colonists approached Florida, which was under Spanish rule, the more danger they faced. Voyages southward had always been voyages of piracy as South America belonged to the Portuguese and Spanish spheres of influence. The character of English naval voyages was also determined by the geographical location of the British Isles. For the English, finding a northwest or a northeast passage would have been very profitable. In the forty years of the reign of Elizabeth I, England evolved into a naval power that could challenge Spanish and Portuguese domination in the New World.

The first part of the bachelor thesis deals with the poverty issue and fight with poverty which is enabled by development assistance, direct investments, debt relief or good countries management via their governments. Furthermore, this part is devoted to concepts, causes, consequences, measurement and indexes of poverty. The second part of the bachelor thesis describes specific poverty contexts in developing countries. It excludes developing countries that are also described as third world countries, Global South countries, eventually fourth world countries or lower developed countries. The developing world in spite of urbanization development, during which more and more people migrate from villages to cities, copes with different problems of urban and rural poverty. The fundamental problem for people living in developing countries and especially for those who belong to the billion of the poorest ones is poverty traps that they often get into. These traps are meant to be armed conflicts, natural resources, lack of access to the sea and bad government of small countries. Developing countries must deal with the debt issues, when the main creditor becomes the International Monetary Fund that assembles a repayment schedule but its main concern is its interests. These countries are under an obligation to preferentially repay the provided loans to the International Monetary Fund. The third part of the bachelor thesis is directly focused on poverty feminization in developing countries. From the general point of view, the poverty feminization is a worldwide problem which concerns single women and single mothers. In the developing countries, women are distinctively restricted in education and because of gender stereotypes they cannot execute the same professions as men. This part also describes gender and inequality between men and women which can be shown in restricted access of women to incomes, resources, services or laws. In relation to the inequality, women are threatened by women's laws breaking such as the law to owe a land or property. Secondly, women may be threatened by violence, trafficking in women or movement restriction. The key area in the framework of the poverty feminization is insufficient possibilities of women's education.
