Social security in the Czech Republic with an emphasis on state social support
Marková, Michaela ; Brádlerová, Daniela (advisor) ; Woitschová, Klára (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of social security in the Czech Republic with a focus on the system of state social support with the goal of analysing individual pillars of social security and further individual benefits (parental allowance, child allowance, maternity allowance, housing allowance, funeral allowance and substitute maintenance) paid through state social support, with which the state supports families with children and other citizens whose incomes are insufficient to pay all living expenses. As foster care benefits are also paid out through state social support, they also have their place here for the integrity of this system. Social administration is an exceptionally dynamic area that directly responds to social issues in society, thus this work compares the legislative changes that took place in the past years and that substantially affected the payment of state social support benefits and foster care. The key objective of this diploma thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of social security in the Czech Republic with a closer focus on state social support as one of the pillars of the social security system in the Czech Republic. This diploma thesis is established on the method of analysis and comparison of the current legislative regulation of social security and state...
Stabilita individuálních rozdílů v chování u rypošů lysých
MARKOVÁ, Michaela
The study of animal personality has received an increased attention in scientific literature. The repeatability of behavior in time or context represents the main principle in personality research. In subteranean rodents, the stable individual differences in behavior have not been studied. The aim of this work was to evaluate the repeatability of behavior in naked mole rats (Heterocephalus glaber) measured in two experimental tests at two time points. The repeatability of all 11 behavioral variables was evaluated as significantly repeatable.
The effect of heating and ventilation on the prevalence of allergies in children
Marková, Michaela ; Jílek, Petr (advisor) ; Kudláčková, Zděnka (referee)
Author: Michaela Marková Title: The effect of heating and ventilation on the prevalence of allergies in children Diploma work Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Study program: Pharmacy BACKGROUND: We investigated the protective or risk effects of different ways of heating and ventilation on the prevalence of allergies and their symptoms in children. We found available scientific literature with relation to our theme and compared their and our results. METHODS: We sent 2793 questionnaires to 69 elementary schools in the Czech Republic. The questionnaires were retrospectively filled in by parents of children from seventh or eighth grade of elementary school. We got back 1697 questionnaires which were statistically evaluated. We focused on the part with the questions about heating and ventilation of children's bedrooms. RESULTS: Some results have statistical significance. Using central heating in children's bedrooms of 4 and 5-year-old children and gas heating in bedrooms of 6-year-old and older children has adverse effect on the prevalence of allergies. Heating with solid fuels was the risk factor for asthma in children up to the age of 3 years and for eczema in children over the age of 6 years. Floor heating has adverse effect on the prevalence of eczema in 4 and...
Punishment of disqualification and its control
Marková, Michaela ; Šelleng, Dalibor (advisor) ; Mulák, Jiří (referee)
This thesis focuses on disqualification punishment in all of it phases. Its main objective is to provide the detailed insight into imposing this punishment. It also tries to answer the question whether the disqualification can be considered one of the alternative punishments or not. At first, general issues of sentencing and purpose of penal law are researched, including Czech penal system. As a next subject of the research, punishment of disqualification is analyzed: from substance and purpose of punishment, through conditions upon which it can be imposed, phases subsequent to imposition (execution of sentence, supervison of execution) to conditional suspension of sentence. Separate chapters try to explicate disqualification from driving motor vehicles, sentencing of youth offenders and legal entities. Extra chapter is dedicated to historical development of the institute. Comparation with legislation of some of the European countries is also included.
Issues of parental allowance in the Czech Republic
Marková, Michaela ; Brádlerová, Daniela (advisor) ; Sekyrková, Milada (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to define changes in the field of parental allowance social benefits in Czech Republic, which happened in 2020, when the new legislation was implemented. Parental allowance is one of five social benefits provided by the system of state social support. It is one of the most important benefits given out by the state to support a family, that's the reason why this analysis is not only interesting, but is also important. This work will contain a description of social benefits, which are provided by the state to support women in pregnancy through the health insurance system from which the most important social benefit is maternity financial assistance, to which a woman is entitled after fulfilling statutory period of insurance. Further the bachelor thesis describes not just the organization of state social support, which supervises payments of parental allowance, but also authorities operating in the field of state social policy, such as Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Czech Social Security Administration and Labor Office of the Czech Republic.

Expression of selected defects of oxidative phosphorylation system in cultivated fibroblasts
Marková, Michaela ; Hansíková, Hana (advisor) ; Kalous, Martin (referee)
AAbbssttrraacctt:: The mammalian organism is entirely dependent on ATP production by oxidative phosphorylation system (OXPHOS) on the inner mitochondrial membrane. OXPHOS is composed of respiratory chain complexes I-IV, ATP synthase and also include two electron transporters cytochrome c and coenzyme Q. Disorders of mitochondrial energy metabolism caused by OXPHOS defects are characterized by extreme heterogeneity of clinical symptoms, variability of tissues affected and the severity of the defect at the level of individual tissues. The mitochondrial disorders are not always clearly expressed at the level of available tissue or most easily available cultured fibroblasts and/or currently available methods are not capable to detect the defects on the fibroblasts level. The aim of this master thesis was to identify by biochemical methods, especially by high sensitive polarography, OXPHOS disorders in cultured fibroblasts. Cell lines from 10 patients with isolated (SURF21, SCO1 ND1, ND5) or combined defects of OXPHOS complexes whose biochemical defect was confirmed in muscle tissue as well as 14 patients with non- mitochondrial diseases (8 patients with Huntington disease, 6 patients with disorder of sulphur amino acids metabolism) were analysed. Furthermore impact of various cultivation conditions on OXPHOS...
Mer1 and Nam8 in splicing regulation
Marková, Michaela ; Abrhámová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Stejskalová, Eva (referee)
By the mutual cooperation, Mer1 nad Nam8 proteins activate pre-mRNA splicing of four specific genes: AMA1, MER2, MER3 and SPO22, that are required for meiotic recombination and nuclear division. Expression of these genes does not change during the cell cycle, nevertheless, the efficient splicing of their pre-mRNA occures only during meiosis because Mer1 protein, which facilitates their splicing, is expressed only in meiotic cells. All these pre-mRNAs contain nonconsensual 5'splice site (5'ss) which is less recognizable for the spliceosomal subunit U1 snRNP in comparison with the consensual sequence. There is an enhancer area near to 5'ss on the pre-mRNA of this genes that serves as a binding site for Mer1p which makes recruitment of U1 snRNP more efficient. Mer1p cooperate via other proteins with Nam8p. Protein Nam8, a part of U1 sn RNP, is bound on pre-mRNA downstream from 5'ss close to the enhancer area. Mer1p in cooparation with Nam8p facilitates spliceosome assembly on the nonconsensual 5'ss and subsequently pre-mRNA splicing.
