Religion and children's rights

The diploma work "Religion and children's Rights" deals with difficult relationship between religion and children's rights. First it examines this issue on the basis of the relevant documents and then presents the biggest problems in this area which are referend by human rights defenders. The work is also focused on different religion attitudes to children's rights, examines children's rights in Islam, Judaism and Christianity. It draws attention to the most frequent problems and their most common violations. The final part of the work is devoted to the topic of Christian parent's attitudes to the right to freedom of religion for their children which is established in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. When examining this issue the work uses qualitative research method. There are mainly information gained from interviews which were realized with Roman Catholic parents. The results of these interviews are summarized at the end documenting parent's attitudes to this problem and shows possible approaches to their solving.
