Although their identification and documentation received a considerable attention, they remain unrecognized for many patients. Objectives: The goal of the thesis was to analyze serious drug interactions between cardiovascular drugs, to describe their management in clinical practice, which is useful during dispensation, and to evaluate occurrence of these drug interaction in a community pharmacy. Methodology: The information was gained from several databases and compared, and afterwards management of major drug interactions of betablockers and calcium channel blockers was created. Patients of a community pharmacy were screened for these drug interactions. The data were processed by frequency analysis. Results: In the theoretical part, 94 drug interactions were analysed. Not only this should be the reason for proper health education and early detection of clients endangered by this illness. Objectives: The objective of the thesis was to perform and evaluate consultancy activities in a pharmacy focusing on clients with a risk of arterial hypertension or with already diagnosed arterial hypertension. Methodology: Collection of data took place in a public pharmacy in Česká Lípa between 1 May 2013 and 27 June 2014. The main goal of the therapy of AH is to prevent these complications, comprising early diagnosis and proper treatment plan. The aim of the study was to realize counselling in a pharmacy focused on clients with the risk of AH or already diagnosed AH. Metodology: Data were collected in a community pharmacy in Kralovice from September 2014 to January 2015. Prior to blood pressure measurement, the controlled interview was conducted with each client using special form which enabled to obtain important data from clients' history. In terms of prevention of falls it is necessary to analyze all the factors that might have contributed to the emergence of a fall and subsequently minimize these risk factors. Objectives: The aim of the thesis was to analyze the possible drugs and other causes of falls of patients hospitalized in a certain rehabilitation institution. Methods: The data were collected from 21 March to 31 July 2014 in an institution providing rehabilitation care. The evaluated group consisted of patients who fell during the hospitalization in this period. The data about the fall, personal and drug anamnesis were transferred to an electronic form and subsequently evaluated by means of the frequency analysis, converted into graphs and tables and discussed. The assortment of OTC drugs and dietary supplements is still being spread in the Czech Republic. It carries benefits and risks. Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate current opinions, attitudes and knowledge of patients from the Czech Republic about OTC drugs. Methods: The data were collected at the hospital in Svitavy and at the Department of occupational medicine in Svitavy. The interviews were performed in April and July 2013. The data were analysed and described by means of the frequency analysis in Microsoft Excel 2007. Results: The answers were obtained from 169 respondents (44,0 % women and 56,0 % men). Despite of the fact that great attention is paid to an early diagnosis and therapy of arterial hypertension, it remains compensated insufficiently in a number of patients. Objectives: The aim of the thesis was to analyse the possibilities of pharmaceutical care provided to patients who are at risk of arterial hypertension. Methodology: Blood pressure was measured from the beginning of October till December 2012 in a public pharmacy in Moravská Třebová. Medication beliefs are explored with the use of the Beliefs about Medication Questionnaire (BMQ). Medication beliefs have been associated with underuse of antihyperglycemic medications in patients with diabetes mellitus 2. type. Czech translation of the BMQ has been validated in the cohort of chronicaly ill patients. Aim of the study: To identify medication beliefs in the patients with diabetes 2. type, to estimate adherence with medications in those patients. To identify whether there is medication underuse because of cost. Methods: Consecutive patients with type 2 diabetes who came to fill the prescriptions in the two pharmacies in Kostelec nad Orlicí during October - December 2011. Those patients were asked to fill the questionnaire that consisted of the BMQ-specific scale, MARS (Medication Adherence Report Scale) and additional background questions.
