Subject: Carpal tunnel syndrome in university students and people aged 40 - 60 Objectives: The main goal of this work is to determine the population incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome in a group of university students aged 25 - 30 years and a group of adults aged 40 - 60 years. Methods: The research consists of a quantitative method. A questionnaire containing three provocative maneuvers was used to obtain data. These were the Phanel's Test, Compression Test and Wrist Flexion Test. The research was supplemented by measuring the hand grip using a dynamometer, which was to confirm the occurrence of carpal tunnel syndrome. Two groups of probands were tested. The first group were university students aged 25 - 30 and the second group were adults aged 40 - 60. For the measured data was performed statistical analysis. Results: The result of the research assumes one occurrence in a group of university students aged 25 - 30 and two occurrences in a group of adults aged 40 - 60. These probands have three positive examinations and confirmed by a dynamometer still, the occurrence is just probable, that would need to be confirmed by electromyography. Keywords: carpal tunnel, carpal tunnel syndrome, dynamometer, provocative maneuver, researc
Evaluation of Local Action Groups' Activity
Malá, Michaela ; Perlín, Radim (advisor) ; Večerka, Radan (referee)
The thesis deals with action of local action groups (LAGs) in the Czech Republic at the beginning of the new programming period. Analysis of the functioning of LAGs was based on guided interviews with LAG managers or LAG directors, and representatives of rural development institutions. Selection of interviewed LAG representatives was based on the LAGs evaluation from 2010, 2011 and 2012. Results of guided interviews with LAGs' representatives and experts served to define the barriers that currently impede the development of rural areas through the LEADER method and community planning. Furthermore, the results of field research confirmed that LAGs activity supports the development of social networks in its home territory and breaking down barriers between public, private and non-profit sectors.

Title: Biomechanical gait analysis in cerbral palsy Objectives: The main aim of this work is to compare pressure values on feet of young man with cerebral palsy during for him normal gait, gait with French crutches in narrow (modified) and wide (natural) holding and with crutch held only at left hand. Methods: One 23-years-old proband with sapstic triparetic cerebral palsy was participated in a qualitative research (case studies). Young man was examined using the Pedar - X pressure measuring system. The proband was subjected to measurements with pressure insoles placed in his shoes. Natural gait measurement, narrow (modified) and wide (natural) crutches grip and crutche on left side all measurements with five repetitions were performed, each with four step cycle. Evaluated were the pressure distribution and the magnitude of the vertical force component. Results: Proband's gait showed considerable asymetry in the step cycle. The pressure distribution on the feet was more uneven during walking with the crutches narrow held against the natural gait. However, the greatest asymmetry and congestion of the left leg was created when walking with crutches with wide (natural) grip. During measurement with the crutch on the left, there were no significant decreases or increases in values. The vertical...

6 Abstract Thesis title: The effects on challenging behaviours in clients with autistic spectrum disorders. Thesis aim: Completion of detailed information on clients with autism spectrum disorders who were enrolled in research on the effects of challenging behaviours in these clients by introducing long-term day care activity programme. Method: In the thesis, qualitative experiment was conducted to monitor the occurrence and frequency of incidents of challenging behaviours for 4 clients with autism spectrum disorders before and after the introduction of the original long-term day care activity programme. The participating observation was used as a main method. Behavior Observation Chart (BOC) was used to collect data. The research lasted 12 months in total. First 6 months involved monitoring of challenging behaviours occurrence before the original daycare programme was introduced and the other 6 months involved the same monitoring after the programme was introduced. The impact of that programme was evaluated on the basis of records in BOC. Results: The results show that after implementation of daycare activity programmes, the frequency of incidents of challenging behaviours significantly decreased. One client was to reduce the incidence of challenging behaviours after the introduction of the original day...

The physical examination was carried out with seven patients. It involved anthropometrical measurements (weight, waist circumference) and blood collection for biochemical parameters assessment (glycemia, glycated hemoglobin). Two-minute step test was chosen for assessment of subject's physical fitness. Results: The physical activity education of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus doesn't increase the amount of their physical activity. The physical activity of type 2 diabetes mellitus individuals is rather low as well as their exercise adherence. Nordic walking exercise program can improve anthropometrical parametres (weight, waist circumference) and can reduce HbA1c levels. Lower health-related quality of life in physical and physological aspects wasn't proved in type 2 diabetes patients. Key words: nordic walking, physical activity, type 2 diabetes management,...
