Screenplays of Zbabělci (The Cowards)

This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the comparison of Škvorecký's novel The Cowards and its four initially planned film adaptations: the synopsis of Miloš Forman and Josef Škvorecký and with the screenplays by Petr Jarchovský, Bohdan Sláma and Andrea Sedláčková. The theoretical part is based on the most recent adaptation theory, processed, for example, by Linda Hutcheon and Alicja Helman. This theory disapproves the "fidelity of a literary work" criterium yet respects the distinctiveness of the film language and a possibility to transform the meaning of the work upon the adaptation. This Thesis also succinctly deals with a "concretisation" concept. The analytical part presents the comparison itself. For each adaptation, the circumstances of origin are stated first, followed by the work analysis. The comparison targets changes authors have decided to perform on the original story's characters, locations, and events. It also focuses on the musical approach and briefly on the poetics of the newly-emerged work. The Conclusion recapitulates the findings that refer to the similarities between particular adaptations and the considerable differences between these adaptations and the original text.

Modern Architecture and The Concept of Space

This work deals with the concept of space in the works of Le Corbusier and Adolf Loos, because every comparison between their works is so interesting. Their ideas involved the next evolution way of the modern architecture. Furthermore, this work deals with psycho-social terms of space in the Czech discourse and it points out why was the idea of functionalism, in its purely technical form, unsustainable.

Create and verify fitness training for Fitness Center clients in České Budějovice, aged 30-40

The aim of this work is to assemble and verify the functional strength training for the client's fitness centre in Ceske Budejovice in the age of 3040 years. The client, who agreed with the participation of the program of functional strength training, have been subjected to the input and output measurements. Part of the work is also an exercise program that includes didactic procedures of the individual exercises. In 60% of clients, there was an improvement in measured values at the output measurement.

In this work student will deal with the concept of space in terms of philosophy, psychology and partly in the literature and especially in modern architecture, which became a living style of 20th century. Furthermore, student will deal with psycho-social terms of space and will point out why was the idea of functionalism, in its purely technical form, unsustainable.
