Connecting methods used in automotive industry
Gregora, David ; Müller, Miroslav (advisor) ; Valášek, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on analyzing methods of joining sheets in the automotive industry. In the thesis are theoretically analyzed and described the various methods that are most often used for connecting plates in the automotive industry. It stated their principles, advantages and disadvantages. Selected methods are welding, soldering, adhesive bonding, riveting and clinching. This thesis works with methods that are used in the automotive industry for a long time, but also methods that are relatively new and brings to the production benefits that are mainly increasing productivity and lowering production costs and the weight of the entire body.

Henc, Petr ; Müller, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of the thesis entitled "Study of some factors affecting the adhesive bonds durability" is description of factors that affect the mechanical properties (strength and hardness). The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the bonding chemical nature and bonding technology description. Various factors that may lead to degradation of bonded joint are described here too. The experimental part deals with the influence of the environment on adhesive or bonded joint. For a comparison epoxy and methylmetacryle adhesives were tested. All experiments were performed in compliance with standards ČSN EN 1465 and ČSN EN ISO 868. In long-term experiments focused on bonded joint strength change the other authors' hypotheses about the negative effect of atmospheric conditions or fluid contaminant in the liquid water form were confirmed. Experiments were also focused on the processes taking place in the bonded joints after the degradation. The process of drying under the laboratory conditions has the positive effect on the hardness of the adhesive or bonded joint strength. The results are processed by the statistical program and are summarized in the form of tables and graphs.
Research of polymeric composites based on biological filler solved by experimental approach
Mottl, Jan ; Müller, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hrabě, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on research of polymer composites with natural fibers. The theoretical part is an introduction to composite materials with a focus on natural fiber reinforcements and polymers. For the needs of the experimental part of the work also deal with theoretical issues of bonded joints. Experimental part deals with the influence of natural substances added to the bond formed polymeric adhesive and the resulting composite. Made composites were tested and evaluated from the mechanical and technological-economic terms.
Evaluation of deformation speed influence on adhesive bond strength
Ureš, Dan ; Müller, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hrabě, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of bonded joints and their deformation by commonly used epoxy adhesives. It is divided into two main parts. The first part has character of searching for informations which describes various adhesives, their characteristics and applications. It also describes adhesives technology and deformation rate of the bond. The second part analyzes the results of the rate of deformation of the individual adhesives, which are assessed in terms of usability for the glued joints. The objective was to verify the properties of adhesives at different rates of deformation.
Research and optimization of liquid metals with emphasis on application in sphere of renovation
Hynek, Pavel ; Müller, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hrabě, Petr (referee)
The aim of the master thesis is to research liquid metals, or research on the influence of the selected particulate filler to selected mechanical properties that characterize the use of liquid metals for renovation of machine parts or assembly parts, two-component reactive adhesives based on epoxy resin, with a partial aim to assess and select the optimal amount added . In this master thesis are interpreted measured values for each of the fillers that are in discussion compares the results of other research papers. In the last part of master thesis is done techno-economic evaluation.
Research of influence of degradation process on changes of mechanical properties of polymeric particle composites
Škoda, Marek ; Müller, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hrabě, Petr (referee)
This thesis is engaged in research of influence of degradation processes on changes of mechanical properties of polymeric particle composites. In the first part, literal research, are listed basic informations about composite materials, their history, definition, distribution and utilization. It further describes the procedures that should be followed in designing bonded joints, and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of adhesive bonding technology. Subsequently, the literature research is dealing with a corrosion and its basic division. At the end of the first part of a thesis are informations about the types of stress on bonded joints. In a second part of a thesis is analyzed the procedure of the experiment itself. Its objective is to monitor the process of degradation, which acts on a bonded joints with different kinds of additives depending on time. As a degradation medium was chosen solution of utility water and road salt.
Mechanical properties of biocomposites
Janošík, Petr ; Valášek, Petr (advisor) ; Müller, Miroslav (referee)
Goal of this diploma thesis was to describe mechanical properties of epoxy resins containing organical fibers and to experimentally evaluate the effect of the fiber length with various concentrations on final mechanical property of composit material. First part of the diploma thesis is dedicated to literature review which describes general properties of fiber composites, materials which they are made of, and mechanical trials. In chapter called Methodics, materials used for experimental research are described. Process of sample preparation and mechanical trials, which were used for the test, are also described there. Last part of the diploma thesis is dedicated to evaluation of results of executed mechanical trials on composites with fiber support of various lengths and concentrations
Properties of adhesive bonds filled with microparticle fillers
Habrová, Karolína ; Valášek, Petr (advisor) ; Müller, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with the measuring of adhesive and cohesive characteristics of composite systems filled with microparticles of glass powder. The theoretical part describes in detail composites from their historical development to the present, also their characteristics, general properties, distribution and types of fibers and matrices. Emphasis is placed on composites filled with particulate filler and current researches in the field of composites with glass filler. Furthermore, the adhesion and cohesion of filled systems is described. The experimental part of this thesis includes a methodology, which describes in detail the used materials, methods of preparation of mechanical testing and statistical analysis. The results of mechanical tests for all three composite mixtures and evaluation of cost savings are appended to this thesis.
Adhesive bonding of metallic and non-metallic materials
Holpuch, Lukáš ; Brožek, Milan (advisor) ; Müller, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of diploma thesis was to collect information of the bonding technology and adhesives available in the local market. Another aim was to assess experimentally the properties of adhesive joints made of metallic and non-mettalic materials which were made by selected adhesives. The whole process is evaluated and complemented by techno-economic evaluation of each adhesive and material. This thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first part describes the bonding technology. Its history, nature, structure, surface preparation prior to bonding, the choice of adhesive and the all important factors which must be taken into account when bonding. The next section includes experimental test of strength for metallic and non-metallic materials. In the following part is a detailed evaluation of the strength of the adhesive used. The conclusion is a complete techno-economic assessment, which is supplemented by tables and graphs.
