A Streetcar Named Desire - Life of a sex worker (journalistic interview with reportage elements)

Sex workers belong to marginalised groups of society that the media often do not represent. Sex workers are still associated with a lack of understanding, stigma and prejudice. This bachelor's thesis aims to present the life of sex workers from a different perspective. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of sex work, describing the various forms of work in the sex industry, the obstacles that sex workers face and the current state of sex work in the Czech Republic. The methodological part describes the journalistic genre of the final output, i.e. the radio reportage interview and its specifics. It also explains how the practical outcome was created, including approaching the respondent, preparation for recording and the subsequent post-production. The final reportage interview is approximately thirty-seven minutes long and depicts one evening of the reporter and the sex worker. Together they show the preparation for the working evening and the actual waiting for customers. During the evening, the reporter also introduces the story of the sex worker, her life, wishes and desires. The recording includes a personal reflection of the reporter who is accompanying the interviewee the whole evening. Television station of the city Most - Phenomenon Dakr

This bachelor's thesis is divided into three parts. The most extensive of them is a practical bachelor's project, which is an author's video documentary. Through interviews with former workers, it presents the history of the regional television station DAKR, which has been operating in the city Most for almost thirty years. At the same time, the documentary highlights the role this station played in finding and educating not only television talents who are still active today in television or in similar fields. The bachelor's thesis also contains a theoretical part that forms the informational framework for the presented television documentary. It presents the development of DAKR from its inception to the present, and at the same time, this development is placed in the context of other regional television stations. The last part of this work is the methodological part, which summarizes the production of the television documentary and includes the script.
The division of Czechoslovakia (radio interviews with selected personalities)

The radio interview is one of the basic genres used in radio. This practical bachelor's thesis is based on two radio interviews recorded by the author of the thesis with personalities of former Czechoslovak politics who experienced the division of the country into the successor states of the Czech and Slovak Republics in important positions. The theoretical part of the thesis first describes the historical event of the division of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republics using the mentioned expert sources. Next, the author of the thesis attempts to briefly summarize the situation of the two successor countries and their mutual relations 30 years after the act of partition. An important part of the theoretical part of the thesis is the introduction of the respondents for the radio interviews, which form the practical part. And the author of the thesis also defines the concept of a radio interview on the basis of the literature, explains the differences between its different variants and describes the practical aspect of the creation of such an interview on the basis of a concrete example. Palliative care ensures patients, through complex medical and psychological help, the highest possible quality at the end of their lives and a dignified departure from this world. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to expound to listeners and readers the reality of the work of people involved in this specific field, and also to contemplate on the necessity for every society to ensure dignified end of life for all their members. The practical part of this thesis that is composed of a series of radio interviews is accompanied by the theoretical part, which concisely reflects palliative care in scientific literature.
Media Image of the Politician Dagmar Buresova in the Czechoslovak Radio

The diploma thesis focuses on the personality of the lawyer and politician Dagmar Buresova. It aims to present the media image of the politician Dagmar Buresova in the Czechoslovak Radio set in the historical and political context of the time. Her political mandate is limited from December 1989 to June 1992. Firstly, she was a Minister of Justice and then a President of the Czech National Council. The empirical part of the thesis examines, with the help of framing analysis, a total of 29 audio recordings from the archive of the Czech Radio in Prague, which are associated with Dagmar Buresova in the context of her active participation in politics. In order to provide a more comprehensive grasp and the possibility of comparing the media images, the author enriched the research part with the analysis of audio recordings from the period outside the active involvement in politics within the Czech Radio until the end of 2022. During this period, the author examined a total of 7 recordings. In addition, for the purposes of this master's thesis, three interviews were also conducted with personalities from various fields, whose answers offer yet another angle on JUDr. Dagmar Buresova.
Series of Publicistic Interviews with Young Evangelical Pastors

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis presents the profession of pastor in the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (CCE). The theoretical part presents the main tenets of Christianity, and then it focuses on the principles of CCE's belief. The bachelor thesis then describes the organizational structure of the CCE, the position of examined Church in the Czech law system, and the CCE's methods of financing and economic activities. Then, the theoretical part describes the profession of the priest. The thesis describes the role of the priest in CCE and the educational system of priests. The last part describes the risks which are connected to the profession of the priest. The third part focuses on methods of interviewing. Then the thesis describes the methods which were used in the interviews with priests. The author justifies the choice of the respondents and presents the themes which were used in the interviews. The interviews are then evaluated. Six journalistic interviews with young evangelical priests comprised the practical part of the thesis. The main goal of this thesis is to present the life of young evangelical priests. For instance, the respondents speaks about their inner motivation, about their professional duties, and about problems which they face.
Journalist podcast: Tramping

Tramping movement is a unique Czechoslovak phenomenon which accounts for one of the most significant subcultures in history of the country. Its roots date back as far as more than a hundred years and since then the tramping movement has seen a lot of changes in its characteristics as well as in its relationship with the mainstream society. In the means of a journalistic podcast based on interviews with two experts on tramping and two members of the movement, this thesis introduces the tramping movement to a potential wide audience. The theoretical part of this thesis adds scientific information about the topic of the podcast - tramping movement, but also about the genre of podcast itself. It also describes the production process of the podcast and evaluates the results.
Perspectives on the Media Literacy in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. A theoretical part that explains the terms used to implement the work and describes its theoretical basis, and a practical part in the form of written interviews with respondents from the field of media education. The theoretical part introduces the interview genre and describes its possible methods, approximates the requirements of media education contained in the framework educational programs and recommended expected outputs, and presents projects focused on media literacy. The practical part of the work consists of interviews with Přemysl Danda, Michal Kaderka and PhDr. Radim Wolák.
The Atmosphere in the Czech and Slovak Society after the Breakup of the Czechoslovakia: The Event in the Context of Comments in the Broadcasting of the Czech and Slovak Radio (1.1.-31.12.1993)

This diploma thesis aims to convey the atmosphere in the Czech and Slovak society at the time of the Breakup of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. For this purpose, comments broadcasted by Czechoslovak Radio, Czech Radio respectively, and Slovak Radio were analyzed. The author collected all such comments connected with the breakup of Czechoslovakia between the 1st of July, 1992, and the 31st of December, 1993, regardless of whether these comments focused on the defense, criticism, causes, or consequences of this event. For the analysis itself, the method of analytic induction was used. To put the issue into a broader context, the analysis itself is preceded by a brief overview of events related to the breakup of Czechoslovakia in the period under review. The overview is followed by a description of how the event was perceived by Vladimir Mečiar and Václav Klaus, leaders of the two most powerful political parties in Czechoslovakia at that time and, therefore, the main figures of the breakup. The description is based on their publications and social outputs. This bachelor thesis is constructed from two parts. Practical part, that is attached separately as an mp3. file and theoretical part, that should broaden and amend the practical part. Practical part is designed as an interview with doctor Jan Paták from the Intensive Care Unit. The goal of this practical part is to show in detail how does the work of the first line doctor against the covid-19 looks like, how it influences his personal life and his opinions on the topics related to the pandemic. Theoretical part introduces radio interview as a genre, its history, types of radio interview, compares it to podcasts and points out the technical side of it, such as preparation of the host, lead of the interview and it's post-production edit. In the second part of the theoretical part, the author evaluates the observance of the described principles and reflects his own work.
