Experiences of Teachers in Czech Nursery Schools with the Persona Dolls Method

The diploma thesis deals with anti-bias education and the Persona Dolls method. The aim of the thesis is to map the experience of teachers in Czech kindergartens who work with the Persona Dolls method and who have completed an accredited long-term Persona Dolls course. The theoretical part focuses on the historical and social context of diversity in the Czech Republic in the 20th century, anti-bias education and the principles and emergence of the Persona Dolls method in the world and in the Czech Republic. The practical part finds out what experience teachers have with the method. Specifically, what do they see as the benefits, risks and obstacles in implementing the method in preschool education and what recommendations do they make. For data collection, an interview method was used with ten graduates of the Persona Dolls course. By analyzing the interviews, it was possible to obtain answers to the research questions posed and to formulate recommendations that emerged from the interviews. Work with the Learning Stories method in the age homogenous class in the context of Czech nursery school

The thesis deals with the issue of assessment of learning processes of preschool children. The aim of the thesis is to deepen the theoretical knowledge and to implement the Learning Stories method in the Czech Republic. The Learning Stories correspond to the key features of formative assessment, supports individual child's learning, monitors child's progress and develops teachers' pedagogical practice. The theoretical part characterizes formative assessment and its key features. The main part of the theoretical work is devoted to the Learning Stories method. It explains the theoretical foundations of the origin of the method in New Zealand, its benefits, the development of children's learning, the observation of the it's progress and the teacher's work in the process of early childhood assessment. The empirical part of the thesis involved action research in the age homogeneous class of pre- school children. Content analysis of letters (as the output of the Learning Stories method) and questionnaires as feedback from parents were used. The letters were analysed based on the criteria of whether they met the principles of the Learning Stories method, how they influence teacher's evaluation and pedagogical planning. Development of competencies of preschool children in the field of safety and health protection in kindergarten

The bachelor thesis deals with the field of safety and health protection of preschool children. The goals of this thesis is to describe the health and safe behaviour in the concept of pre- school education and based on theoretical approaches, which are important for scientific research, to investigate competence of Czech children that are living in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, in the canton of Geneva. The theoretical part compares Czech Framework Curriculum for pre-school education (Ministry of Education, 2021) with Plan d'étude (curriculum for pre-school education in the French-speaking part of Switzerland) in terms of health education and safety behaviour. It also defines the notion of health and safety in education and the developmental specificities of preschool children that are important for their development in the area under study. The last chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis maps out the risks to preschool children and, along with this, the didactic materials that deal with the issue, which are of Czech and Swiss origin. Providing language support to children with a different mother tongue in preschool age

The thesis is devoted to the problem of providing language support to children with a different mother tongue in preschool age. The theoretical part discusses the child with a different mother tongue, the framework conditions for providing language support to children with a different mother tongue at preschool age in the Czech Republic, methodical and educational materials suitable language support for children with a different mother tongue in preschool age and the method Kikus. Empirical part is prepared on the basis of action research conducted under the support of a language course by Kikus methods for children with a different mother tongue in preschool age. Influence of institutional care and education on a child of an early age (covering especially the issues of language and communication)

The main idea of my thesis is to describe the influence of institutional care and education on the early development of a child. The theoretical part analyzes a child younger than three years, especially the child's personality development. Special attention is devoted to the development of communication and language skills of a child of this age, also the basic terms are defined there. The thesis observes the early age institutional care and education in the Czech Republic and abroad, describes its historical background and current situation. Related research studies and future trends and visions are also included. The aim of the research is to compare a group of children in early institutional care with a group of children growing exclusively in a family environment and check if the stay in the institutional care has positive effects on the development of communication skills.

Transformation of child and childhood

In the content of the dissertation we aim to think of the question if the changes in educational system do influenece the point of view on a child, childhood and child itself. The theoretical part is focused on the research of special, historical and present documents, concerning institutional children education. The practical part examines the subjective opinion of parental public. Subsequently, thanks to the controlled dialog between the teacher and the children, it provides interests and feelings of contemporary children in nursery schools. In conclusion,from the gained information in theoretical part, we would like to determin the elements which have probably influenced the child opinion changes and it's approach. Due to the obtained information analysis and the subjective parental and children opinion comparison, we tried to answer the question how the nowadays children differ from their parents' and grandparents' generation.
