UX Principles and the City: Case Study of UX and UI in Public Transit Fare Transactions

The text of the thesis deals with the purchase of public transport fares in terms of user- friendliness and usability. The aim is to map the area of fare purchase theoretically and practically, including the user perspective. The theoretical ground is the concepts of User Experience, User Interface, Human-computer Interaction, smart city, the theory of the city as an interface. Important parts are also the theoretical aspects of the User Experience in the city environment. Literature review of current research in public transport ticketing systems with user-friendliness perspective presents current topics in the field of public transport ticketing. The practical part of the thesis describes the public transport ticketing systems in Prague and Copenhagen in detail, their possibilities, rules, and specifics. Primary research in the form of semi-structured interviews provides insight into the User Experience and reveals the perceived advantages and disadvantages of local systems.
Information behavior of 8th and 9th grade pupils in relation to the protection of their own privacy on social networks

i Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the information behavior of the pupils in the 8th and 9th grades of primary schools in relation to the protection of their own privacy on the social networks Facebook and Instagram. The aim of the work is to find out: - how pupils are interested in the issue of protecting their privacy on these networks and where they get this information from (parents, school), - if they are aware of the associated risks and how they take them into account in their behavior, - whether they know the tools available to them on these networks, - how the above affects their manners on selected social networks in terms of content and form of shared information. The theoretical part of the thesis deals mainly with the characteristics of selected social networks Facebook and Instagram in terms of privacy protection against possible threats. The practical part presents the results of quantitative research, which was carried out in the form of a questionnaire among 8th and 9th grade elementary school students.
Possibilities and restrictions of the VWI method in the process of technological and information overload monitoring

The aim of the thesis is to assess the capabilities and limitations of the so-called "Virtual Index scales" (Virtual Weight Index, hereinafter referred to as VWI). VWI D. Sieberg defines VWI as an indicator expressing the layout of the user's time between the online space and the real world. From the perspective of information science then you can represent one of the helper methods, setting out the degree of technological information flooding the individual. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the interpretation of the basic concepts and integrated into the broader contextual framework. In the practical part of the work, a qualitative research will be carried out, the basic part of which will represent the test method, supplemented by the "VWI diary". The group of the respondents are eight women aged 30-40 years. Measuring VWI run for a period of 48 hours. The result of the work of the evaluation methodology is to set out, evaluate the methodology, strengths and limitations, and the evaluation of research outputs for the target group. Seniors and Internet Payments

This Bachelor thesis concerns the theme ofinternet payments and subsequent provision of goods and services for seniors. The theoretical section of the thesis defines the key term 'senior' and covers issues of old age and current use of technology by the elderly. Also covered in this section are the education, knowledge and safety of seniors connected with their activities on the internet involving online purchases and payments. The theoretical section also describes payment methods used for online internet payments and the positives, negatives, and level of risk of such payments. Attention is also givenhere to issues of online payment fraud and other forms of abuse.The research section of the thesis is carried out through qualitative research in the form of partially structured interviews with respondents of between 60-74 years of age having prior experience with internet payments. The purpose of the thesis is to determine how knowledgeable seniors are about internet payments, including their practical experience and whether they know the risks involved and how to avoid abuse. The use of information kiosks in museums: Case study in the permanent exhibition Czech Folk Culture in the Ethnographic Museum of the National Museum in Prague

This bachelor thesis focuses on information kiosks and their use in museums with an emphasis on their user interface and information content. The first part of this thesis contains definitions for information kiosks, user interface and the general quidelines for user interface design. The next part of the thesis deals with a case study of an information kiosk in the permanent exhibition Czech Folk Culture in the Ethnographic Museum of the National Museum in Prague. The main goal of this case study is to compare the general guidelines described in the first part of the thesis with their implementation in this particular kiosk and also describe the accessibility of this kiosk. The conclusion of this thesis contains the results of the case study along with a solution for discovered design errors and future research. Self-Tracking in horse riding

Equilab is a specific solution of a self-tracking application specially developed for the field of horse riding. The aim of the thesis is to study the effects of the application on already existing rider-horse relationship from the rider's perspective. The study examines human-horse relationships in history and today, considering the possibilities of Equilab and use of wearable electronics in animals. The qualitative research was based on structured interviews with open questions.
Intergenerational transfer of digital capabilities when using application JW Library

The bachelor's thesis examines intergenerational learning in two generations of people-the elderly and young adults. The theoretical section mainly investigates the specifics of each age group and the concept of intergenerational learning. This section also considers how digital skills are passed on within a community. The practical section aims to identify the predictions, obstacles and benefits of intergenerational interaction in sharing and developing new skills within a certain religious community while using the JW Library application on electronic devices. This religious community uses the library regularly for their meetings and personal studies. The empirical section consists of evaluated semi-structured interviews with respondents selected from both generations involved in this specific religious community. The research explored how both generations cooperated with each other and learnt as they worked with the JW Library mobile application.
Information behavior and information needs of farmers

in English This diploma thesis aims to map information behavior and information needs of farmers. The theoretical part describe these concepts in connection with the field of agriculture and adds a description of information sources that farmers use or may use in practice. The practical part is focused on the formulation and answering of research questions. These questions were answered in qualitative research, which was carried out using in-depth interviews. The research took place in February and March 2020 among farmers in the Benešov region. It brought a large amount of information concerning information needs, used information sources and related information behavior of respondents. Knowledge discovery in marketing data

Data mining techniques are used by companies to gain competitive advantages. In today's marketplace, they are also used by marketers mainly for personalization of advertising and for maintaining long-term relationship with customers. Progress in knowledge discovery in databases and availability of computational power comes not only with positive impact, but also with challenges. The practical part of the thesis aims to explore and describe data mining techniques applied to e-commerce dataset. Dataset consists of transaction and web analytics data. The goal of experimental application aims to make a selection of users who most probably react to a marketing communication and to identify the factors which influence them. Target segment of users is obtained through the use of data mining technique clustering. The classification model uses decision tree algorithm to predict whether users submit transaction with an accuracy of 75%. The results are useful for optimization of marketing and business strategy.
Comparative study of state-supported development programs in information literacy for seniors in Czech Republic and Great Britain

This bachelor thesis is focused on educational programs of information literacy for elderly citizens in Great Britain and Czech Republic. The thesis contains theoretical part, which describes crucial terms (e.g. elderly citizens, lifelong learning, information literacy, digital divide). This part also contains current state of both countries in light of relevant factors, which affects the scale of educational programs (e.g. demographic structure and socioeconomic state of population). The second part contains description of selected educational strategies and programs of information literacy development in Great Britain and Czech Republic. The last chapter compares educational conditions in both countries, selected strategies, approach and form of education, support and funding of programs and content of educational programs. Conclusion of the thesis summarizes all findings and proposes inspirations for Czech Republic.
