Svobodová, Ingrid ; Starý, Karel (advisor) ; Laufková, Veronika (referee)
This work deals with the introduction of a new subject Education for communication at the first stage of a particular primary school. The course is focused on the social development of children through the topics of primary prevention. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the need for a change in prevention programs, to describe the connections between the parties involved in this change, and to evaluate this change. For this research, respondents representing individual grades of the first grade, who completed the relevant training and started teaching a new subject, as well as the school principal and prevention methodologists, were elected. The data obtained from semi-structured in-depth interviews with educators, the director and the prevention methodologist were coded and evaluated by a short summary and table. The change was evaluated after observing the individual classes in the classroom. Research has shown that the change initially arose from the need for teachers to influence their schedule and spend more time with children in their tribal class. It also turned out that in the first grade, teachers lack a classroom class and have reservations about the number of optional subjects that the school has profiled. Initially, educators were looking for ways to influence the schedule and optional...

Červeňáková, Hana ; Laufková, Veronika (advisor) ; Starý, Karel (referee)
In this diploma thesis, we present a methodological approach for the preparation of bilingual children attending the Czech School without Borders in London (CSWBL), with a specific focus on preparing them for the B1 level exam organized by the UK's UJOP workplace. The theoretical part of the thesis begins by providing an overview of CSWBL, including a brief history of its operation. Subsequently, we offer a definition of the term bilingualism. A particular emphasis is placed on the unique aspects of teaching Czech to bilingual pupils residing in London. This serves as a crucial foundation for the practical segment of the thesis, aiming to acquaint the reader with CSWBL, elucidate the concept of bilingualism, and delineate the specific challenges associated with teaching bilingual children residing outside the Czech Republic. Given the current absence of textbooks tailored for teaching bilingual students, our objective in the practical part is to create teaching materials for the eighth grade, aligning with the students' needs. These materials are designed to correspond to the time-thematic plan for the 8th grade at CSWBL and simultaneously prepare students for the CCE exam at level B1. This preparation encompasses all four components of the exam: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The...

The diploma thesis "Improving students' readiness for the Practical Matriculation Examination through tutoring at a selected secondary vocational school" focuses on improving the success rate of students at the Secondary Hotel School in Teplice, through voluntary studying. Běťáková, Anežka ; Laufková, Veronika (advisor) ; Neumann, Lukáš (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of use of media and multimedia by preschool children, and their parents. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is based on the study of literature and is divided into five main chapters. In these chapters, I discuss the characteristics of the preschool child in relation to the topic. I describe the field of media and multimedia and look at how media affect preschool children and what the role of parents is in the work of preschoolers with multimedia. The last chapter, which deals with literacy, is divided into two subchapters, which address reading literacy and preliteracy and multimedia literacy. In the practical part, I implemented a questionnaire survey directed to parents and also semi-structured interviews with preschool children. Through this research investigation I aimed to find out how preschool children currently perceive the media world. I also focused on the extent to which multimedia is used by today's families compared to other media or other leisure activities and how parents approach the use of multimedia by children. A sub-objective of the practical part was also to create, put into practice and then evaluate the lessons with a children book that addresses the issue of multimedia, with using reading...
Little heroes of important themes in John Boyne's novels - lessons for lower secondary school
Nesvadbová, Jitka ; Komberec, Filip (advisor) ; Laufková, Veronika (referee)
The work focuses on the main characters in Boyn's novels for young people, through which important themes are explored and significant questions are raised that influence not only the youth but also society. The work examines the content and interpretations of these novels, considering various literary aspects of the works. In detail, the work focuses on literary characters and their characterization, exploring the main protagonists. The author identifies the didactic potential, main themes, and their contribution to youth in the selected novels. The didactic part includes six lessons for the second stage of elementary school, which can be adapted in various ways. The lessons apply the E-U-R teaching model, tandem teaching, and various RWCT (Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking) methods suitable for developing reading literacy. Various teaching organizational forms and reading note-taking methods are used. The lessons are crucial for the work as the author aims to demonstrate the didactic potential of Boyn's novels for youth, in which pupils can find significant themes. If pupils have the opportunity to discover these themes on their own, literature educates them, guides them toward values, and can help them if they find themselves in similar situations. Particularly, boys in the second stage...
