The cistercian ladscape of Velehrad
Létal, Aleš ; Hudec, Petr
The paper presents the key results of several years of research activities on the Cistercian landscape of Velehrad. The aim of the activities was, still is and will be to identify, describe and capture the significance of existing or extinct unique landscape fragments that are evidence of the influence of the Cistercian Order on the region for more than 600 years. The activities and part of the outputs are related to the Cisterscapes international project, which belongs to the LEADER Transnational Cooperation category. In the text, the authors describe in detail the assessment of the Cistercian influence on the landscape and the overall development of the region, highlighting the specificities of the Velehrad Cistercian landscape. Visual annexes complement the commentary in the form of photographs, application outputs and thematic maps.
Position, morphometry and surface weathering of tors in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts.
Tomíčková, Lucie ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Létal, Aleš (referee)
The diploma thesis analyzes the positional and morphometric characteristics of tors in Hrubý Jeseník Mts. and their surface weathering. As a part of the distance mapping, tors' spatial distribution was determined using 5th generation digital elevation model and aerial orthophotos. Selected morphometric information (elevation, slope, aspect, and solar radiation) were determined using the digital elevation model. During field work, descriptive morphometric properties of tors (maximum height, width, and length) and their surface weathering were evaluated. Surface weathering was analyzed using Schmidt Hammer test and the method of measuring the veins and weathering pits morphological characteristics. Based on statistical analysis, the weathering characteristics were evaluated in relation to tors' morphometric and topographic characteristics. A total of 511 tors were identified in Hrubý Jeseník Mts. by distance mapping. Tors occurrence and distribution is related to the slope, lithology, orientation, and solar radiation. The majority of the tors are located below the summit at elevation of 900-1000 m a. s. l. There is more than 60% of metagranite and gneiss tors. Tors' height ranges from 1.6 to 30 m. Surface weathering have been measured in 58 tors. Microforms morphology measuring revealed the influence...
The morphology and activity of selected avalanche paths in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. and the Králický Sněžník Mts.
Krause, David ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Létal, Aleš (referee)
The occurrence of avalanche paths is usually frequent in alpine environment, but it is also present in mid-mountains such as the High Sudetes. The submitted master thesis is focused on avalanche paths in the Eastern High Sudetes. The morphometric analysis of 8 paths was accomplished to determine their characteristics and comparison with statistical verification. The dendrogeomorphological analysis and further geomorphological mapping was performed in 2 selected paths (Sněžná kotlina and Králický Sněžník) to cover their avalanche activity frequency and to find relationship between their activity and morphology. The results of this study show that there is a strong difference between two groups of avalanche paths in the Eastern High Sudetes. The Sněžná kotlina and The Králický Sněžník avalanche paths are longer and narrower than the other paths. They also have higher elevation difference. The comparison of these two paths performed by dendrogeomorphology indicates higher avalanche activity frequency in the Sněžná kotlina path, which was strengthened after strong avalanche event in 2004. It is assumed that the Sněžná kotlina path contains advanced avalanche landform, which is a long gully, probably also affected by debris- flows in the past. On the other hand the Králický Sněžník path is rather less...
V současnosti se z těchto rozsáhlých ploch mokřadů a luk dochovala pouze malá část, právě v přírodní rezervaci Plané loučky a jejím blízkém okolí. První rok výzkumu spočíval ve shromáždění vstupních podkladů a založení monitorovacích ploch, příp. v pokračování již probíhajících průzkumů
