Evaluation of suburbanization in Prague's hinterland - influence on landuse and on territory function The main goals of this thesis are to describe land use changes in three time periods in cadastral units Dobřejovice, Modletice and Jažlovice situated in Prague's hinterland, to evaluate their influence on the territory function and to create a database of commercial objects in this area. There is a theme introduction in the first part. Furthermore, the thesis describes methods used for the data processing. The main part of the thesis is focused on the characteristic of the area of interest and describes the detected land use and territory function changes based on spatial overlays of time series of very high- resolution image data. The outputs of this work are maps of land use in 1994, 2004 a 2007, maps of land use changes in the particular time periods and the database of the commercial objects with their utilization purpose.
Monitoring of water eutrofization in model reservoir of Czech republic by remote sensing data

Present study compares possibilities of monitoring water eutrophication in the Czech republic using remote sensing. The theoretical part describes basic spectral characteristics of water and their change caused by eutrophication. Chlorophyll-a was chosen as the quantitative indicator of trophic rate. Methods of obtaining value of chlorophyll-a content from scanner TM and ETM+ Landsat satellite data and from in situ measurements data are described. Three regression equations, that employ variety of channels or channel ratios of Landsat data were utilized. The regression equations were applied on three satellite images of model area of Vltava's steps (water reservoirs of Lipno, Hnevkovice, Korensko and Orlík) from the years 2001, 2004 and 2007. The regression equation ln(chl-a) = a.TM2 + b.TM3 + c.TM4 +d gives the best results, where the determination coefficient varies from 0,245 to 0,422. Maps showing distribution of chlorophyll-a concentration in water reservoir Lipno and in the part of water reservoir Orlík were created based on obtained results. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Classification of line features from remote sensing data

This work deals with object-based classification of high resolution data. The aim of the thesis (paper, work) is to develope an acceptable classification process of linear features (roads and railways) from high-resolution satellite images. The first part shows different approaches of the linear feature classification and compares theoretic differences between an object-oriented and a pixel-based classification. Linear feature classification was created in the second part. The high-resolution QuickBird satellite images showing Prague surroudings were used for this classification. Using Definiens Developer software and the paper of Nobrega et al. (2006) the segmentation and object-based classification was created on the selected area of the satellite image. Minimum distance method of a pixel-based classification of the same part of image was generated to compare these two methods of classifications. Another classification was created in an another satellite image to verify developed classification process. At the end a visual and statistical accuracy assessment was done to compare an object-oriented and a pixel-based classification . Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The development of the subject orientation of land change science can be divided into two phases. (i) During the first phase (50's/60's of the 20th century) the description of landscape and its morphology (structure) were at the centre of research interest along with the research of the potential for agro-production. This particular type of study was motivated by the need to find a solution to the problem of the increasing inability to supply a growing (European) population with agricultural products. (ii) In the second phase (circa from 70's of the 20th century), the attention of scientists towards the accelerated rate of land change on a global scale that can be associated with: the increase of human population, changes in agricultural techniques, mining, environmental exploitation et cetera. Mapping of urban sprawl using remote sensing data Abstract Mapping of urban sprawl has been an often discussed topic recently. This work compares remote sensing methods and socio-geographic methods used for tracing urban area changes over a certain period of time, and for mapping of these changes. First the potential of socio-geographic methods for tracing urban area changes is examined, and advantages and disadvantages of these methods are evaluated. Then, in a similar way, remote sensing data and methods which can be used in this field are studied. Based on the example of Praha-západ district is illustrated how CORINE database data can be used for mapping of urban sprawl on the national and regional levels. On the example of Zličín and Hostivice cadastral areas it is shown how to classify high-resolution satellite images and how to interpret aerial images in order to create maps of urban area changes on a local scale. The outcomes of both methods were compared using RSO register data. This work aims to evaluate how suitable remote sensing data and methods are for monitoring and mapping of urban area changes, especially in areas of suburbanization. Methodology for the creation and utilization of historical spatial data in a GIS environment: The administrative boundaries of cadastral areas and urban districts of Prague

Cílem předkládané certifikované metodiky je popsat vytvoření prostorových dat (administrativních hranic) k jednotlivým rokům sčítání lidu (populačních cenzů) na území hlavního města Prahy v letech 1921−2011 tak, aby bylo možno navržený postup realizovat podle tohoto popisu opakovaně v budoucnosti. Hlavním účelem projektu NAKI je vytvořit podklady pro historické hranice katastrálních území (popř. i obvodů a základních sídelních jednotek) v letech populačních cenzů a tyto hranice následně využít pro zobrazení historických statistických dat ve struktuře platné v rozhodných okamžicích populačních cenzů. Některé GIS vrstvy byly již vytvořeny v moderní době a byly pouze převzaty ze zdrojů ČÚZK a ČSÚ (1991−2011). Ostatní podklady bylo nutno vyhledat v archivech a následně kartograficky zpracovat. Postup práce a jednotlivé aktivity směřující k vytvoření shp souborů pro využití v GIS jsou popsány v předkládané metodice.
