Generation of NPS for Exposure Experiments from Copper Acetylacetone.
Moravec, Pavel ; Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Vodička, Petr ; Kupčík, Jaroslav ; Švehla, Jaroslav
Particles containing copper are emitted from smelters, iron foundries, power stations, and municipal incinerators (WHO, 1998) and also from brake linings during breaking, Kukutschová et al. (2011). Nanoparticles (NPs) of copper are ingredients in polymers, inks, and bioactive coatings inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, Cioffi at al. (2005), and CuO NPs has been used in antimicrobial textiles, Gabbay and Borkow (2006), therefore they can be easily inhaled. Even though CuO NPs were found highly toxic, Karlsson et al. (2008), in vivo studies of their toxicity are still rather rare. In this work we tested a method of long lasting nanoparticle generation from copper\nacetylacetonate (CuAA) for use in follow up exposure experiments with laboratory animals. The exposure chamber for inhalation experiments was constructed in the\nInstitute of Analytical Chemistry AS CR (Večeřa et al., 2011) and some methods of NPs generation for these experiments were already tested in our laboratory (Moravec et al., 2015, Moravec et al., 2016).

Multidimensional Data in OLAP System
Kupčík, Jaroslav ; Kužela, Alois (referee) ; Hruška, Tomáš (advisor)
Thesis considers the problems of multidimensional data in OLAP systems, especially its visualization at 2D computer screen. Briefly it describes the way how the data are stored in multidimensional database and formal description of hypercube structure. Next chapter contains very detailed classification of diagrams including the facts about its usability for visualization of multidimensional data and for official presentations where the high synopticity is required. Last chapter is description of single stages in development of information system interface for multidimensional data visualization.
User-Friendly Animated Communication with OLAP System
Kupčík, Jaroslav ; Šuška, Boris (referee) ; Hruška, Tomáš (advisor)
Complexity of multidimensional data models and its usage does not have positive influence on quality of user-friendliness of application working with them. The option of solution of negative influence of this fact on laic end-user is usage of visualisation technics for upgrade of user interface of the system. Nowadays there are powerful tools usable for impressive manipulation of originally static document on the client side. By using them, interface of the system can be enhanced with an interactive help. Usability of this modul has to satisfy maximal portability requirements. Important aspect is also range and methods of configurability of result of practical part of thesis.
Long Lasting ZnO Nanoparticle Synthesis for Potential Use in Inhalation Experiments
Moravec, Pavel ; Kupčík, Jaroslav
In this work we tested the long term generation of ZnO-NPs for potential use in exposure experiments with laboratory animals. These experiments require the generation of NPs in the gas phase with appropriate number concentration (Nt>1 107 #/cm3) and geometric mean diameter (GMD<50 nm) in duration of several weeks. Several methods of gas phase ZnO-NPs synthesis using metalorganic precursors, such as zinc acetylacetonate, zinc tetramethylheptane dionate or diethylzinc were reported in the literature. However, NPs prepared from metalorganic precursor are usually more or less contaminated by elemental (EC) or organic (OC) carbon. Therefore we used metallic zinc as a precursor in this study.

Excimer Laser-Induced CVD of Carbon Encapsulated Cobalt Nanoparticles
Fajgar, Radek ; Maryško, Miroslav ; Dřínek, Vladislav ; Kupčík, Jaroslav ; Šubrt, Jan
Decomposition of acetylene / Co(CO)(3)(NO)mixtures induced by excimer ArF laser pulses is an efficient technique for preparation of amorphous cobalt nanoparticles encapsulated in carbon. Vacuum heating up to 900 degrees C leads to crystallization the metal core. The cobalt core crystallizes in a face-centered cubic (beta) form as revealed by X-ray and electron diffraction techniques and carbon affords graphite outer part. Properties of the Co(core) - carbon(shell)nanocomposites were examined by spectroscopy and microscopy techniques. Magnetization studies revealed paramagnetic behavior of the as-prepared amorphous deposit and superparamagnetic behavior of the annealed samples.
Characterization and Properties of Titanium-Vanadium Oxide Thin Films Prepared by ArF Laser Ablation
Fajgar, Radek ; Kupčík, Jaroslav ; Šubrt, Jan ; Novotný, F.
Thin films od vanadium-titanium complex oxides were prepared by ArF excimer laser ablation of Tio2 and VO2 targets. The light grey films with thickness of 155 nm were grown on glass and Au substrates and characterized by microscopy, spectroscopy and diffraction techniques. The as-prepared films were nanocrystalline and heating at 450°C in vacuum led to formation of mixture of crystalline V0.95Ti0.05O and TiO nanoparticles. The film shown reversible thermochronic behaviour between 3.0 and 1.4 micrometers. The films, annealed in air oxidize and the colour of the film changes to light yellow. Electrical and optical properties of the films are demonstrated.
