Nováková, Josefína ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor thesis was executed by data collection within the ELDEL project in form of a questionnaire SDQ (Goodman, 1999). This questionnaire was designed by a pediatric neurologist and psychiatrist Robert Goodman, who expanded earlier created questionnaire for parents by Michael Rutter (Rutter scale for completion by parents - A scale). This questionnaire aimed for parents with children with specific language impairment, children with family risk of Dyslexia and children with typical development. SQD questionnaire was a part of a battery, which parents underwent within the ELDEL project. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out, whether there is a statistically significant difference in the parents perception of their children between individual groups. In the individual scales, which are included in the SDQ questionnaire, in the overall score or between the score of individual groups. There were 133 children in the experimental sample, which this bachelor thesis examines. These children were divided into 3 groups based on information retrieved from their parents. After the testing, the placement of each individual was adjusted based on acquired data. After the data evaluation a quantitative analysis was used, which uncovered that there are statistically significant differences in the...

Reading comprehension in children at risk of learning difficulties
Bláhová, Veronika ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Špačková, Klára (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the level of reading comprehension in children at risk of developing grammar difficulties. The main goal consisted of assessing the performance and children's success in two experimental groups (with impaired speech development and the familial risk of dyslexia) and one control group (individuals with typical speech development) at the Test of Reading Comprehension based on the YARC diagnostic scale (Hulme et al., 2009). Additionally, we also observed the performance of children throughout a longer period of time. Consequently, it enabled us to compare the performance of children in the original test with the results of the Test of Reading and Comprehension by M. Caravolas and J. Volín (2005), which was administered two years later. Further analysis reveal that the individuals with the impaired speech development performed significantly worse than the children with familial risk of dyslexia whose performance was very much on the same level as the ones with typical speech development. Additionally, we found out that the performance of children in terms of comprehension does not change significantly during their development. The results of this study may be beneficial both for specialists and parents who may obtain a better understanding of their children's...

Hoždorová, Zuzana ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Špačková, Klára (referee)
My thesis is about mapping of silent reading mode with understanding among students at five grade of basic school. The thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and empiric part. In the theoretical part the thesis is focused on the theory of silent reading, comprehension of what we read and you can find the description of context of listening versus the silent reading there. The attention is focused on approaches to reading, the diagnostic of reading and the preconditions which are projected into reading. The empiric part is based on two levels of settled aims - the primary aim and the secondary aim. The adaptation of the test of the silent reading, We are going on a trip, is the primary aim. In terms of this aim we will investigate discriminatory and reflective value of the test at the fifth classes. The thesis is engaging in itemized analysis of individual questions of test. You can read there about dynamics of the development from the side of student's progress at the start and end of the school year. In terms of secondary aim the results were processed by quantitative methodology and it is discussed from the view of the pattern of reading (usual writing and Comenia Script) and from the view of gender. Freehand drawing of early school age children
Machová, Natálie ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
In this thesis freehand drawings of middle school children were analyzed. The main focus was on motifs and themes. Then the conception, frequency and popularity of spontaneous drawings were examined. In this case study ten representatives from second grade were selected and interviewed about their after-school drawings. Subjects were asked about the specific artistic expressions, the details and the sectional facts of their drawings. Thus the freehand drawing conditions in young children were evaluated. I focused mainly on the categories of individual topics of the drawings, the occurrence of a specific motif and their percentages in both the whole group and in the gender subgroups. Further it is indicated there is an influence of modern technology on children's drawings. The study shows the most common themes are motifs of nature especially animals. Despite of school duties and modern age the frequency and the popularity of freehand drawing is relatively high among young school children. KEYWORDS freehand drawings, young school age, motifs and themes of drawings

And also try to detect whether the battery includes tests to detect potential child with specific language impairment and thus contribute to the differential diagnosis.
