Mertová, Petra ; Lopot, František (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Author: Bc. Petra Mertová Title: The effect of kinesiotape application on rheological properties of the knee joint with chondromalacia patellae Problem definition: Chondromalacia patellae is a very frequent diagnosis related to knee injuries. Diagnosing chondromalacia is very difficult. Knee arthroscopy is the best method for evaluating the cartilage condition, however this technique is invasive. Kinesiotaping is a therapeutic method extensively used to affect knee pain. Patellar taping is an effective method in improving symptoms resulting from patellofemoral joint problems, nevertheless the evaluation of its effect has not yet been objectively investigated. Aim of the thesis: The aim of this study is firstly to discover the possibility to noninvasively detect chondromalacia patellae using the method of biorheometry and secondly to discover the impact of kinesiotaping on rheological properties of the knee joint with chondromalacia patellae. Method: The designed experiment was performed as a pilot case study using the method of biorheometry. The history of the patient was monitored using a questionnaire and by a clinical examination of the knee joint. Two questionnaires were created to evaluate the functional state of the knee joint. Measurements were done on a special device called biorheometer....

Pavlová, Lenka ; Kubový, Petr (advisor) ; Jelen, Karel (referee)
Title: The influence of pharmacological substances from the SYSADOA group on knee osteoarthritis. Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the effect of three - month usage of pharmacological substances from the SYSADOA group on the subjective perception of the difficulties associated with the knee osteoarthritis and on the reological changes in the joint. Methods: In collaboration with rehabilitation and orthopedic centres 18 probands with knee osteoarthritis in the second degree were obtained. These probands were divided into two groups - the experimetal group (including those who have taken Proenzi 3 plus) and the control group (including those who have taken placebo). With all the pacients the input clinical examination and the medical history were done. Probands had been using these preparations for twelve weeks. After this time, the changes in the subjective perception using the WOMAC test and reological changes in the joint were evaluated, using a special knee rheometer. Results: The results of objectively measured parameters clearly proved that the Proenzi 3 plus has a positive effect on the rheological properties of the knee osteoarthritis. The experimental group had a statistically significant improvement in both of these parameters, as opposed to the control group. Concerning...

Changes of rheological attributes of the knee joint in floorball goalkeepers
Nikodýmová, Kateřina ; Kubový, Petr (advisor) ; Lopot, František (referee)
Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou častých bolestí kolen u florbalových brankářů a především možnými příčinami. Teoretická část práce obsahuje shrnutí poznatků k problematice kolenního kloubu z oblasti anatomie, patologie, kineziologie, biomechaniky a reologie. K výzkumu byly použity tři metody: měření pasivního odporu kloubu pomocí přístroje bioreometru, určení míry lateralizace pately na rentgenových snímcích kolenních kloubů a získání informací o sportovní zátěži a zdravotním stavu probandů pomocí speciálního dotazníku. Všechny získané informace a výsledky byly dále porovnávány a byla hodnocena míra jejich korelace. V závěrečné části práce jsou zhodnoceny výsledky výzkumu a z toho vyplývající možné příčiny bolestí kolenních kloubů, k nimž patří například patelofemorální syndrom. Abstract This thesis deals with a problem of frequent knee pain of floorball goalkeepers and their possible causes. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge about knee joint of the anatomy, patology, kinesiology, biomechnics and rheology. Describes physical demands on these...
Quantifying aspects of orthosis in relation to ankle sprain
Znášiková, Ivona ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title: Quantifying aspects of orthosis in relation to ankle sprain Objectives: To detect whether various types of ankle bracing affect dynamic postural stability. Investigation of attenuation of vertical forces in different conditions. To determine range of motion for each orthosis. Methods: Monitoring of dynamic variables by piezoelectric measuring device - Kistler recording of dynamic changes. Mathematical modeling of damping characteristics and detected variables. Measuring of range of motion by goniometer with and without orthosis. Results: Results suggest, that bracing conditions have an effect on dynamic postural stability and orthosis limit range of motion. Attenuation of vertical forces is affected by using orthosis. Keywords: ankle instability, orthosis, mathematical modeling, stabilization

Impact of gear and weaponry on posture in kneeling shooting position
Zdražila, Václav ; Vágner, Michal (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title Impact of gear and weaponry on posture in kneeling shooting position Objectives The aim of this thesis is to find out the impact of gear and weaponry on posture in the kneeling shooting position. Specifically, this study examines the influence of carried load on posture, aiming stability and balance in the high and low kneeling shooting position variants. Methods This thesis has an empirical observational character. The shooting position was tested by Qualisys camera system and Kistler pressure plates. The measurment was performed on 16 Military department students with mean age of 23 years (standard deviation 2,63 years). Measurements were carried out in four levels, with no load, light load of 15 kg, mean load of 30 kg and heavy load of 45 kg. The measurement was performed on high kneeling variant and the low variant with elbow supported by the front knee. Intra-individual comparison of the results of each level was determined by a T-test. Results: The load in a form of gear and weapony had a statisicaly significant - negative influence on the kneeling shooting position posture. Gear and weaponry used for this study caused a lower trunk position, increased shoulders angle in the low variant, lesser aiming stability and balance control in the position. The bigger was the weight of gear and...
Effect of shooting stances on ballistic protection of the shooter
Zdražila, Václav ; Barták, Erik (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title Effect of shooting stances on ballistic protection of the shooter Objectives The goal of this thesis is to develop a method which could measure ballistic protection, which is currently provided by a bulletproof vest to the shooter in a current shooting stance. This work also focuses on analysis of the currently used shooting techniques and shooting stances, comparison of protection they can provide, and last but not least, to fill the gap in literature, wich deals with this issue. Methods This is an empirical thesis of observational character. Shooting stances were tested on a camera system named Qualisys. The results were first processed by a program for 3D analysis, and the ballistic protection provided by the bulletproof vest in different positions was calculated in a program for 3D modeling. Results: From the measured data, it was found that changing targets to the left (for right- handed) the provided ballistic protection significantly changes to worse. Conversely, when changing targets to the right, the ballistic protection faired the same or slightly better than aiming forward. The worst results of all stances came from the side shooting stance in which the bulletproof vest provided almost no protection. Keywords Ballistic protection, shooting stances, Qualisys, 3d analysis, vital zone
