Verification of operation of piezoelectric composite strain sensor
Kubiš, Juraj ; Ševeček, Oldřich (referee) ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the use of piezoelectric elements as sensing elements in engineering practice. The work can be divided into three main parts. The first part describes the actual use of these elements in practice, either as sensing elements or as a source for energy harvesting. This section contains the selection of components for a given experiment, the creation of a model using FEM and the measurement process of the experiment. The third part is the evaluation of the obtained results and subsequent comparison with the obtained values from strain gauges and other sensors.
Analysis of piezoelectric energy harvester for railway applications
Kubiš, Juraj ; Tofel, Pavel (referee) ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with a piezoelectric energy generator, witch is a device that converts mechanical stress into electrical energy. It is small device that is mostly placed on vibrating structures in order to collect energy. By gluing this piezoelectric layer to the bottom of the rail, it would be a suitable power supply for the communication modules, while obtaining a sufficient amount of energy. These modules ale used as self-powered sensors stations with vision to monitor the condition of railway lines in more detail. The problem of these modules is their power supply, when the energy gain from the generators located on the railway line is insufficient. By acquiring a new energy source, this problem can be greatly simplified and lead to simpler inspection and earlier maintenance on railway lines.
SS7 Honeypots - Proactive Mobile Networks Fraud Protection
Kubiš, Juraj ; Veselý, Vladimír (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of attacks and fraud against mobile networks, with the main aim being implementation of a honeypot-type tool possessing the ability to respond to these accordingly. Thus, this thesis contains a basic introduction into mobile networks, their topology and commonly used protocols, along with analysis of their general security. This is followed by a clarification of the term honeypot itself, with an explanation of motivations for its deployment into the networks, together with listing of advantages and disadvantages such deployment may bring. The rest of the thesis deals with the actual implementation of such tool, specifically with its design, realisation and testing. This thesis presents a method for responding to the supported frauds, a detailed description of the implementation, configuration and outputs of the tool. The process of testing whether the implementation corresponds to the presented design is described here. The implemented tool is evaluated and its further possible improvements are discussed.
Fast Regular Expression Matching Using FPGA
Kubiš, Juraj ; Fukač, Tomáš (referee) ; Matoušek, Denis (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of hardware acceleration of regular expression matches. The content of the thesis is to analyze existing hardware architectures and evaluate their positive and negative properties. Based on this knowledge, the architecture is designed. It is based on deterministic finite automata with implicit transitions (D2FA), is implemented in VHDL and is synthesized. The synthesis results are analyzed to determine the overall throughput of the architecture. It is designed software to convert regular expressions into a D2FA and to optimize this automaton in order to minimize memory requirements. The implementation is verified and the benefits of individual optimization techniques to reduce memory requirements are evaluated.
