Forms of the Czech underground scene

Resumé The diploma thesis is dedicated to the forms of the Czech underground scene on the basis of the analysis of two samizdat literary journals - Vokno (1979-1989) and Revolver Revue (1985-1989). The thesis studies analogous and distinct tendencies in both magazines which became the platforms of the different underground generations. Vokno is connected with the first underground generation that was formed at the beginning of the 1970s. The second underground generation debuted at beginning of the 1980s and later united around the Revolver Revue magazine. The next part of the diploma thesis focuses on the symptomatic features of the poetics of four central writers that shaped the appearance of the journals. The analysis arises from the texts published in both Vokno and Revolver Revue magazines.

Conception of Milan Kundera's novel

S U M M A R Y The Bachelor's thesis on the topic of The conception of Milan Kuderas's novel consists of two parts. The main aim of the first part is to demonstrate the novel as a literary genre, acquaints with Kudera's opinion of the novel ad clarifies the term "kitsch" in literature. The second part of the Bachelor's thesis is focused on the Kundera's novels. Reveals their themes and motives, which often shows up in the more novels. Letters, imperfection of interpersonal communication, crisis human identity etc. Kundera's novels are returning to the past, however the presence plays an important role. Every age has its pros and cons and Kundera shows through his characters' actions both poles. The Bachelor's thesis deals with not only Czech written novels, but also Kundera's novels written in French.

Compensation for non-pecuniary damages with regard to medical disputes

The aim of this thesis is to describe Czech approach towards pecuniary compensation in connection with immaterial damage arising from providing medical care. Protection of patient's personality rights and eventually that of his relatives is stressed out. Over the last few decades, the issue of compensation for immaterial harm has become more significant, whereas the same could be said about the role of patient in the system of providing medical care. Regarding the fact that there is currently a period of recodification of Czech private law, it is opportunity to have hindsight of where theory, respectively judicial practice, has reached regarding immaterial damage compensations. Therewithal, it is necessary to try to describe and analyze new laws and compare them with the current laws and evaluate their positive and possible negative approaches. This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first one is an introduction and it is divided into three parts. The first one deals with the issue of medical-legal disputes, the second one focuses on the issue of sources of law and the third one on questions arising from protection of personality rights. The bachelor's thesis deals with narratology analysis of fictional world of early Jáchym Topol's works: Výlet k nádražní hale and Sestra. The thesis focuses on system of characters. The method of analysis of narrative modalities exposes complex fictional world. The work deals with the narrator and his reliability in the fictional world. The last chapter describes the system of characters and proposes the typology of characters for Topol's fictional world.

Representation of the sixties of 20th century in literary autobiography

This work is an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the 1960s through an in-depth analysis of selected literary autobiographies. The first section is devoted to the theoretical foundation for exploring the chosen four texts of autobiographical literature. It is based on the analysis and subsequent comparison diaries of Ivan Diviš and Pavel Juráček and the memory of Vaclav Černý and Ota Filip. Additionally, this paper examines how these writers created an image of the 1960s and early 1970s.mFurther exploration includes narrative elements, for example, by what means texts are constructed, character space time, composition, and relationship to the audience. Moreover, the meaning of writing autobiographical literature, specifically the selected works, will be explored. Lastly, these major themes set the stage for the comprehensive analysis of the authors' works, revealing the creative design, history, society and culture of their time.

Fight for Naked Life in Lustig's Presentation of Holocaust

This essay deals with the problems of Lustig's characters they without their real cause have to be commited the danger of the closeness to death. For understanding the choice and classification of the characters it is necessary the consequent face-off the biographical texts. A brief autobiography is indicated in the first chapter and then runs through the all other chapters (the biographic parts are in italics). The second chapter deals with the possibility of presentation of Holocaust in general and delimits the Lustig's opinion to this problems. My work treat of characters they found themselves in the threshold of sink or swim and they are obliged to fight for their dear life. Each of them chose other strategy how to approach a fight for naked life. This study divides the characters into four typological categories. To each of this category is devote one chapter with the brief presentation of the problems with several characters they correspond to this typology. First of them deals with the persons they fight against death by the act whether tragic defiance or revenge is concerned. Phenomenon of Fanfiction - Literature on the Internet

This bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of fanfiction - literature on the internet. Fanfiction is specific in its link to another literary or film (etc.) creation and is also made by the fans. In theoretical part, it presents the terms fanfiction and fandom, gives short history of these two terms abroad (especially in USA) and also in our country. The next chapter is supposed to help with orientation in fanfiction, there are classified genres and types of fanfiction and more terms, that linked to fanfiction. Last theoretical part works fanfiction in literary theory. In practical part, there is one fanfiction (from Harry Potter fandom) compared to original. The aim was to find continuation of fanfiction to original and deduce if it is possible to expect any art values in fanfiction. The conclusion of this work is that fanfiction is truly part of literature and one can find texts with artistic potential.

Josef Nesvadba's Peklo Beneš as counterfactual fiction. Narrative and thematic analysis

This bachelor thesis is focusing on narrative and thematic analysis of Josef Nesvadba's Peklo Beneš (2002). This bachelor thesis has introduction, three chapters and conclusion. First chapter is focusing on counterfactual historiography and counterfactual fiction, second chapter is focusing on narrative analysis of Peklo Beneš (narrative categories) and third chapter is focusing on thematic analysis, that are main and minor topics, counterfactual events in the history of Czechoslovakia from 1938 to 1989 and science fiction invention of Indinet. This bachelor thesis is based both on professional literature of Lubomír Doležel and Niall Ferguson, and on paper of Erik Gilk, who follow up counterfactual historiography and literature, and on Kubíček, Hrabal, Bílek's professional narratology literature.

Feuilletons of Ludvík Vaculík

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of feuilletons of Ludvik Vaculik. The first part is dedicated to summary efforts demarcation of feuilleton from its beginning up to the present by literary theory. The second part contains interpretation analysis, which is divided to three chapters according to particular thematic areas. In the third part is included an interview with Ludvik Vaculik.
