Meaningfulness of Work in Platform Economy
Kreisinger, Jonáš ; Kobová, Ĺubica (advisor) ; Müller, Karel (referee)
In my thesis I deal with the concept of meaningful work in a platform economy. Meaningful work is a theoretical as well as a practical problem that exists across various fields of study. Meaningful work is increasingly important topic, which corresponds with actual problems that workers face in their workplace. The main goal of the thesis is to inquire if and how is this concept useful to describe the working conditions of emerging platform economy, which strengthens the class conflict at the workplace. I research this problem on the case of Viennese food delivery service Mjam with application of the method of the phenomenological analysis, which enabled me to study dailiness and experiencing of meaningfulness of work of the couriers. For the analysis, I conducted semi-structured interviews with the riders. Even though the couriers experience occasionally meaningfulness as well as meaninglessness at the workplace, the thesis shows that this concept is rather used to rephrase their crucial problems of the workplace. The researched literature partially ignores the real problems of workers in their workplace as well as the complexity and heterogeneity of the problem of meaningful work.
The Relation of Instrumental Form of the World and Labour
Kreisinger, Jonáš ; Růžička, Jiří (advisor) ; Němec, Václav (referee)
This paper deals with how the instrumental form of the world is conditioned by the specific form of labor in capitalism. The discussion of a historian and a philosopher Moishe Postone and a Frankfurt School representative Max Horkheimer was used for this analysis. Postone criticizes Horkheimer because of his use of a transhistorical concept of labor, which is unable to explain why the world in capitalism (modernity) is being rapidly instrumentalized. However, Horkheimer's analysis is able to explain the reason why the instrumental form of the world is changing in course of capitalism, which is a perspective Postone's theory lacks. The paper shows that labor in capitalism is a source of instrumental form of the world. However instrumentalisation itself is more of the form of the world appearance. The appearance of the world is in a marxist philosophy conceptualized as an ideology, or in the case of Marx himself by the concept of commodity fetishism. The integration function of an ideology is in the conflict with disintegration function of instrumentalisation on this level of reality.

Nationalism manifests itself as national identity. Ideology is conceptualized in the paper according to the theory of Althusser. As a research method was used discourse analysis. The analyzed data are from the first half of September 2015. The research shows that nationalism is a crucial term to describe the situation that is called migration crisis. Nationalism is shown in the perception of migrants, in two national identities according to opinion on migration crisis and also in a relationship to international coordination of solving migration crisis - in this case the EU. Migration crisis is a crisis for the nation to be solved. Migration crisis is a way how nationalism reproduces itself as an ideology.
