Final schwa in Dutch
Kratochvíl, Tomáš ; Machač, Pavel (advisor) ; Elšík, Viktor (referee)
This thesis deals with final schwa in Dutch in final segments -e and -en, which are in most of contemporary Dutch dialects homophonous because of the elision of the final nasal. The first part of the research was designed as a study of the pronunciation of native Dutch speakers. The subject of this part of research was an analysis of recordings of the text designed specifically for the purposes of the analysing of the final schwa focusing on the homophony of final -e and -en. This part used a pair of sentences which containing potentially homophonous substantives which differed in their grammatical number. The second part of this research consisted of the perception test using short recordings of semantically ambiguous sentences in order to find out how native speakers of Dutch differentiate grammatical number in cases where singular and plural forms of words in sentences are homophonous. Although I didn't find any convincing evidence of the influence of elision of nasal on the preceding schwa, the results of the perception test show that the perception of homophonous words differing in their grammatical number is based mainly on the semantics of the word in question and its context. Final schwa in Dutch
Kratochvíl, Tomáš ; Machač, Pavel (advisor) ; Elšík, Viktor (referee)
This thesis deals with final schwa in Dutch, especially in ending segments -e and -en, which are today in most of Dutch dialects homophonous because of the elision of final nasal. The first part of the research was designed as a study of the pronunciation of native Dutch speakers. The subject of this part of research was an analysis of recordings of text designed specially for the purpose of the analysis of final schwa with focus on the homophony of final -e and -en. This part used sentences which differed only in the grammatical number a substantive; in some cases verbs were also used. The second part of this research consisted of the perception test with short recordings of semantically ambiguous sentences, with purpose of finding out how native speakers of Dutch differentiate grammatical number in cases where singular and plural forms of words in sentences are homophonous. Design and realization of the vocal encoder for audio electronics
Milota, Vojtěch ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with the design of the vocal encoder, a device used for regressive synthesis of a speech signal using an external carrier signal. Work consists of the block chart, its breakdown and following design of all partial circuit solutions, including simulations in the software environment, followed by design of the printed circuit board and realisation of a prototype of the vocal encoder, followed by experimental measurement of its properties.
Video and Data Services Quality in the Future Broadband Multimedia Systems and Networks
Audio Pre-Amplifier for Laboratory Measurements
Friml, Vilém ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design of audio pre-amplifier with fixed frequency filters and a choice between amplification using integrated circuits and solidstate circuit. The thesis includes a design of attenuation circuit, an amplifier with an integrated circuit, an amplifier with transistors, a RIAA filter, a speech filter, a physiological filter, a rock preset filter and a power supply circuit. The thesis describes design of the circuit board, solution of oscillations of the amplifier with transistors and a measurement of the constructed device. The aim of the thesis is the design and construction of laboratory equipment.
Class D audio amplifier for laboratory measurements
Svorad, Adam ; Petržela, Jiří (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis delves into a field of Class-D audio amplifiers. Keystone part of the work summarizes theoretical knowledge focused on measuring techniques of lowfrequency amplifiers and audio amplifier design. A deeper insight into building blocks of a general Class-D amplifier is also presented. Gained erudition is applied in the second part, which is devoted to a construction of the device. Exceptional attention is drawn to the design of robust external driver and sophisticated output analog filter. Blueprints required for a PBC layout are provided as well as outputs of performance measurements taken of a fabricated prototype.
Precise Audio Amplifier for Quality Listening
Janošík, Lukáš ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a design of quality audio preamplifier designed for high quality production. The typology of whole design emphasizes very important transmission properties, i.e. high signal-to-noise ratio, high separation of channel, low distortion, The content of the semestral thesis is an symetrical input, relay input switch, 5 band equalizer with bypass and symetrical output with active line driver.
Audio D/A converter with external control using microcontroller
Špaček, Jan ; Stifter,, Jiří (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of a laboratory measurement tool with ADC converter for audio and low frequency signals. In the introduction part a theoretical background of the ADC and DAC conversions are outlined. In the next chapters the technical solution of the laboratory converter is presented, including DAC with integrated circuit AD1852 and completed with digital audio receiver CS8416. This circuit secures compatibility with external audio devices with digital interfaces, like SPDIF or AES3. The digital receiver and audio DAC are added with serial communication interface for setup of the most audio and input parameters. This setup is operated by external microcontroller ATmega32 and original firmware. The thesis contains block diagram and schematic layout of the laboratory converter, including complete technical documentation for the construction and design.
