The quality of nursing care at selected department subsequent care
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Eva
Current state: The goal of nursing is a quality of nursing healthcare. Each department has its own specific features and therefore has its own quality indicator. This work focuses on two quality indicators related to healthcare, specifically on patients with MRSA infection and their falls. Methodology: In the research were applied three methods of data collection: 1) statistical data from the hospital system; 2) intentional structured observation; 3) structured interviews. Research file: In order to evaluate the incidence of falls and cause of falls, were examined a total of 85 patients and a total of 98 patients for evaluation of decolonized patients with MRSA infection. The investigated group of people for observation and in-depth interviews were ONP nurses from the 6th floor of České Budějovice Hospital, plc. Results: The hypothesis that the most common cause of the fall is leaving the bed without any accompaniment has not been confirmed and the incidence of falls at the patients throughtout the observation period of the year 2015 dropped down significantly in comparison with the year 2014. The most common source of MRSA infection was a wound. Also, has not been confirmed the hypothesis that the number of decolonized patients with MRSA infection who were observing in the year 2015 will be statistically higher than in the year 2014. Most nurses know the cause of MRSA infection, but the problems they have are the precise definitions. By observing the practical activities and skills of nurses during the treatment of patients with MRSA infection were revealed certain shortages, especially the improper use of protective equipment and the improper disinfection of aids after their use. Conclusion: The results of the research show the need for more nursing education in this subject. Adverse events are a serious complication of the nursing process. The number of falls as well as the number of decolonized patients with MRSA infection is not successful significantly decrease in comparison year-on-year. The research also found inadequate theoretical preparedness of the nurses in the area of infectious diseases and a certain discrepancy between verbally presented experiences and the results of observation real activities.
Longitudinal analysis of excess mortality of men in the adolescence and early adulthood of the Czech Republic
Kratochvílová, Eva ; Mazouch, Petr (advisor)
The excess mortality of young men is discussed in many disciplines. However, the determinants of its occurrence are not yet fully apparent. This work is therefore focused on the detailed analysis of the male mortality rates in adolescence and early adulthood (15-30 years of age) in the Czech Republic, for cohorts born in 1935-1990. The development of mortality is also expressed by the aggregate indicator of the temporary median life span and its decomposition through the Pressat decomposition method of life expectancy. Furthermore, the difference in male and female mortality is compared. Based on an analysis of the selected longitudinal data, the validity of endogenous and exogenous hypotheses on the development of male mortality at the young age is tested.

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidade: Mgr. Eva Kratochvílová Consultant: PharmDr. Radim Kučera, Ph.D. Title of thesis: The internal standard method for determination of ethanol by head-space gas chromatography The theoretical part of this rigorous thesis deals with a literature review focused on the conditions used to determine ethanol by HS-GC. The following settings of HS-GC system were tested in the experimental part of this thesis: optimal time of heating of the sample, temperature and the influence of the matrix on the assay. The method of internal and external standard and the method of standard addition were tested for quantification of ethanol in pharmaceutical products. The method of internal standard was chosen as the optimal one. The following parametres were tested in the validation of the method: linearity, precision, intermediate precision, accuracy, LOD, LOQ and selectivity. The content of ethanol in pharmaceutical product was determined by the validated method.
Comparison of EU and US civilian capacities for the stabilization and reconstruction (the case of Afghanistan)
Kratochvílová, Eva ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Střítecký, Vít (referee)
CIZOJAZYČNÉ RESUMÉ/SUMMARY In this diploma thesis "Comparison of EU and US civilian capacities for the stabilization and reconstruction (the case of Afghanistan)" deals with the problematic of civilian capacities for stabilization and reconstruction missions on the case of the two main actors, the USA and the European Union. Under this objective I analyzed the institutional, functional and also financial aspects of these capacities as well as the dynamics of their development in time. The first chapter deals with the definition of the stabilization and reconstruction missions, it explains its general rules which are supposed to be fulfilled. These crosscutting principles (clearly defined goals, activities with long-acting impact, host nation ownership and capacity, reinforcement of local institutions, divide of the resources according to local needs, cooperation with other governments, donors, NGO's, private sector and universities, principle of flexibility, rule of accountability and transparency) were defined in order to be applied in the last chapter on the evaluation and analysis of the case of Afghanistan's stabilization and reconstruction missions. For the aim of the final comparison, the second and third chapters are dedicated to the EU and USA development of the civilian stabilization and...

Employment of gas chromatography in the field of drug analysis IV. Diploma thesis Eva Kratochvílová Charles Univerzity in Pratur, Fakulty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Heyrovského 1203, Hradec Králové This diploma thesis deals with the validation of analytical method for impurities determination in butane-1,3-diol by gas chromatography. Determination of ideal parameters for separation- temperature on column, temperature gradient, velocity of carrier gas and split ratio, allows ideal separation of the peak butane-1,3-diol and its impurities. For sample quantification was tested method of internal standard and method of normalization. The method of normalization was then validated. Validation of method includes linearity, reproducibility, robustness, LOD and LOQ. The found method meets all parametrs. The sample stability was confirmed by series of measurements during 24 hours.
Cyprus (the Future of Divided Island)
Kratochvílová, Eva ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Riegl, Martin (referee)
Diploma thesis "Cyprus (the Future of Divided Island)" deals with current situation on Cyprus, which is for many decades divided and even a fter the entrance to the EU there is no solution to this conflict. Cyprus is also the last state in Europe, which is still split into two separate parts, and despite of the efforts of many mediators and UN negotiators, the comprehensive plan for reunification of the island was rejected in the 2004 referendum. The majority of the Greek Cypriots was against the acceptance of this plan, while in the Turkish Cypriot part of Cyprus the plan was accepted (despite the opposition of political elites). The aim of this thesis is with 4 the regard to the preferences of the actors of the conflict (in the process of its negotiation and also after its rejections) to create a hierarchy of possible future scenarios for the solution of the Cyprus conflict. Under this objective I will analyze the following scenarios: unification of the island on the basis of the UN plan (the so called Annan plan), de facto recognition of Northern Cyprus, continuation of the status quo, creation of the centralized state and Turkish Cypriot North becoming an EU protectorate. As a theoretical framework for the analysis of the resolution of Cyprus conflict, I will utilize the theory of conflict resolution....

A Qualitative Study of Strategy Creation in a Sports Organization
Kratochvílová, Eva ; Tripes, Stanislav (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jiří (referee)
Strategy is generally considered as one of the most important factors of organizations´ success. However, it can be supposed that this theory is applicable for all sectors. The diploma thesis focused on the perception of strategy, strategic planning cycle and its impact on the particular sports industry. This industry is Thoroughbred horse racing. The field of research was application of management theory in the particular horse racing club, its use and the impact on the clubs´ performance, which could lead to potential implementation of necessary changes. The research was conducted using qualitative approaches. Research was based on two pillar, in-depth interviews and participant observation. This approach increased the validity of the statements thanks the triangulation of sources. The findings discuss that the strategy seems to be unimportant for clubs´ managers, although they significantly work on some parts of the strategic planning cycle. However, this fact do not negatively affect the clubs´ performance. It is therefore desirable but not necessary, to make changes and create the strategy.
The issue of health and social care for an aging population of the Czech Republic
Kratochvílová, Eva ; Šimková, Martina (advisor) ; Kozelský, Tomáš (referee)
In recent years the Czech Republic as one of the developed countries faced with the ongoing trend of demographic aging population. The growing proportion of elderly and especially very old people in the population places considerable demands on health and social care, particularly in the financial sustainability of these systems. Therefore the aim of this paper is to estimate the possible future development of their financial situation. Demonstrating the ongoing changes in the population structure of the Czech Republic is proved the seriousness of graying population, given the current character of health and social care. Estimated financial imbalance using my own simplified model encourages to develop proposals for the solution of various factors affecting the income and expenditure of the system. These solutions are further analyzed in the last chapter.
