Effects of restoration and renaturation measures applied on watercourses
Brychtová, Anna ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Králová, Magdalena (referee)
This work focuses on the effects of restoration on watercourses, in particular on a planned restoration of Klíšský brook in Ohře basin and a finished restoration of Rokytka in Běchovice. The main goal is to use the methods HEM and MoRPh for evaluation of hydromorphology in both areas. In case of Klíšský brook, HEM is used to estimate ïts future condition after restoration. Another goal is to assess and propose a vegetation structure for the of Klíšský brook restoration, then to describe it on Rokytka. Research on the topic of river restoration, their goals and effects is included, as is an introduction to in the Czech Republic less known method MoRPh. The results of hydromorphological and vegetation structure assessment are introduced. Both utilised methods show adverse hydromorphological conditions on Klišský brook in comparison to Rokytka. Vegetation also shows higher diversity around and in Rokytka's channel. This work is a base for further monitoring of hydromorphology and vegetation evolution in both areas. The results from Klíšský brook were also used in its restoration proposal. Key words: river restoration, renaturation, hydromorphology, channel, riparian belt, flood plain, riparian vegetation
Development of the Czech secondary preposition kvůli from a constructional perspective
Čermák, Jan ; Friedová, Mirjam (advisor) ; Králová Zíková, Magdalena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to map the historical development of the modern Czech secondary preposition kvůli, which denotes causality and is complemented by a dative NP in standard language and by a genitive case in certain dialects of North Moravia. Its development can be traced back to the Old Czech benefactive prepositional phrase (PP) k vóli/k vuoli (literally 'to/toward will'), which was used as an adverbial of reason or goal of the event denoted by the predicate, with respective meanings 'according to sb's will', or 'to sb's satisfaction'. The beneficiary was either expressed by common possessive means inside the PP (e.g., by a genitive noun phrase (NP) or a possessive pronoun), or by an external dative NP, which was syntactically independent of the PP and functioned as a verbal argument. Adopting the approach of Construction Grammar (Fillmore, 1988, 1989; Fried & Östmann, 2004) and drawing on findings from grammaticalization research, historical material spanning the Old Czech, Middle Czech and Modern Czech period is analysed, paying attention to individual contextual features that enabled the changes leading to the modern prepositional use. Through a series of contextually conditioned and interdependent semantic, syntactic, morphosyntactic, and phonological shifts, the expression gradually...
Use of picture exchange communication system in special preschool education of children with autistic disorder
Králová, Magdaléna ; Zemková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)
This Bachelor thesis follows up the communication of children with autism spectrum disorders. The first part deals with the definition of autism, etiology of this disease, description of problematic areas in daily life of people with autism spectrum disorder and the characterization of individual disorders. Another goal is to get familiar with the problem of communication and alternative communication, specifically with the picture exchange communication system, its brief history, and especially its methodology. The second part is based on observation and case studies of selected individual boy answering the research questions and analyze the situations where the selected kindergarten uses this alternative communication system. This section is supplemented with photographs of specific equipment used by the communication system. KEYWORDS: x Autism x Autism spectrum disorders x Communication x Alternative communication x The picture exchange communication system
Hydromorphological survey and type specific reference conditions of streams
Tomšová, Zuzana ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Králová, Magdalena (referee)
The aim of Water framework Directive 2000/60/ES (WFD) is to reach a good ecological status of watercourses which consist of 3 constituents - the biological, physio-chemical and the hydromorphological state. To make these conditions equal among the various countries of the EU, the particular conditions of various watercourses are characterized as deviations from the default "reference status". The reference status corresponds to the natural (or near natural) state without any anthropogenic disturbance (or with only a minor disturbance). These disturbances mean different modification of the watercourses or ways of farming in the proximity of the inundation area. This Bachelor's Thesis studies publications as a basis for defining the hydromorphological - type specific - reference conditions in the WFD (2000/60/ES) context. Issues of classification and typology of watercourses are discussed, as well as the current legislation connected with these issues and the methods of hydromorphological survey in chosen countries. In the last section, possible hydromorphological parameters suitable for the determination of morphologically type-specific conditions are defined in Czech republic. Key words: reference condition, stream typology, ecological status, natural status, near natural status, hydromorphological...
Impact of urbanization on streams habitat quality
Stádníková, Monika ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Králová, Magdalena (referee)
Increased impervious cover associated with urbanization alters the natural cycling of water. Changes in the shape and size of urban streams, followed by decreased water quality, are the most visible effects of increased imperviousness. Greater frequency and severity of flooding, channel erosion and destruction of aquatic habitat commonly follow watershed urbanization. Alterations in the aquatic environment associated with these hydrological changes greatly compromise the normal functioning of waterways.
The dynamic character of phonetic reductions at the sentence level in spontaneous spoken English
Dalešická, Lucie ; Machač, Pavel (advisor) ; Králová Zíková, Magdalena (referee)
(in English): This bachelor's thesis is concerned with the topic of phonetic reductions in spontaneous speech and its relationship with the recognition of speech units. Research was conducted on the English language using a method previously used as part of a research done on the Czech language. The aim of this research is to tackle questions pertaining to the topics of the existence of a) a unified pattern in the distribution of phonetic reductions in English sentences, b) a possible correlation between a calculated phonetic reduction rate of words and their recognizability, and c) the impact of the so-called 'chunking' on recognizability. The results of this thesis hint at a presence of a pattern in the distribution of phonetic reductions in English, a strong inverse relationship between the rate of phonetic reduction and recognizability, and a notable impact of chunking on perception. This thesis also mentions the influence of regional varieties of English on comprehensibility across those varieties.
Ecological condition of streams in urban areas. Case study of the Rokyka basin.
Stádníková, Monika ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Králová, Magdalena (referee)
The thesis deals with the status assessment of the stream in urban areas. The study area is the stream Rokytka in Prague. The method Hydroecological monitoring HEM (Langhammer, 2007, 2013) was used for the thesis based on field hydromorphological survey. This method is compatible with the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC. The thesis also includes assessement of the rainoff regime and water quality based on the available hydrological and hydrochemical data. As a final result, it was found out the stream Rokytka achieves III. hydromophological state - average state. The water quality state does not meet the requirements of the environmental standards quality. In the urban landscape, it is necessary to find a suitable compromise between flood protection and good environmental conditions. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
