Plzeň as a postindustrial city?

The main aim of this diploma work is to show if the city of Pilsen already is in the post-industrial phase of its developement. The information about post-industrial society comes especially from the work of Daniel Bell. In this work the strategy of Pilsen in the beginning of the 90th years of the 20th century, economic structure, structure of FDI and the system of spatial organization of society is being observed. Pilsen is compared with other region cities of the Czech republic. Census 2001 was used as the main source of statistic information. According to the results of this work Pilsen can not be considered as a post-industrial city.
