This diploma thesis, which is called Aristocracy in diplomatic services demonstrated by the example of František Schwarzenberg and Jindřich Kolowrat-Krakowský, sets as its goal to describe the position of the nobility in Czechoslovak society after the establishment of the republic and clarify involvement of Czech nobles in diplomatic services. Specifically, the work will be devoted to František Schwarzenberg and Jindřich Kolowrat-Krakowský, who both served as the Czechoslovak ambassador. Then I I will also focus on the history of the families from which the men were descended, as well as their lives outside of diplomacy. Czech-Germans from Karlovy Vary region in the British Royal Air Force

Thesis deals with the so far neglected topic of German speaking members of the British Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War, who came from the territory of today's Karlovy Vary region. In the first chapter, attention is focused to the topic in the general context - Czechoslovak citizens of German nationality who fought for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in the Czech army, i.e. in the Air force. Few selected stories of RAF members from the Karlovy Vary Region are presented. In addition to the military services themselves, the author deals with the motivation for joining the resistance and the fate of the families of all these soldiers during the Second World War. Author is also placed on their fates after 1945 and general context of their life stories. PhDr. Jiří Hnilica, Ph.D. The bachelor thesis deals with life in refugee camps in Bavaria after the Second World War. To this end, the bachelor thesis asks several questions, including: "What was the situation in Central Europe, especially in Czechoslovakia and Germany between 1945 and 1955?", "For what reasons did people leave or flee Czechoslovakia?" and "What were their beginnings in the refugee camps? What was life like there?" The topic of escapes and emigration from Czechoslovakia is related to the post-war situation in both Czechoslovakia and Germany in the years 1945-1955 and it shows the complexity of the period in both countries. Czechoslovakia was slowly coming under the rule of the Communist Party, Germany lay in ruins and was initially divided between the four victorious powers: the USA, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, and France. Immediately after the war, Sudeten Germans were expelled from Czechoslovakia and subsequently displaced finding a place to stay in a destroyed Germany, primarily in Bavaria. The fleeing Germans are joined only a short time later by Czechoslovak refugees fleeing the newly established regime. They travelled to the United States or Australia, but the refugees...
The life of the Salesian Oldřich Med (* 1914 +1991), taking into account the surviving correspondence

The work presents life of the salesian Oldřich Med. Its focus are various forms of persecution of salesian Oldřich Med by the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. The author maps the activities of salesian Med, which were intended for young people during the communist era in the places where he worked. The work is based on the author's critical work with archival sources and on the study of literature in the context of contemporary events. The author works mainly with the preserved personal and official correspondence of the eceased Salesian and with state security materials.
