The aim of dissertation is the ICT progress general rules' formulation, gathering from historical data analysis, future progress prediction and consequent economic and social coincidence research. The analytical section assesses the state of technological development and compared its dynamics in various related fields (microelectronics and ICT) metrics of technical parameters (computing power) or economic data (ICT revenue). They are mainly analyzed historical data from the U.S. market over the past 53 years (which are available in an appropriate structure and detail) as well as other 8 states (representatives of the EU: Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium; representatives of Asia: Japan, China, India; representatives of Latin America: Brazil and Argentina) for past 13 years. The main part is devoted to analyzing the time dependence of the ratio of revenues from ICT and GDP in the examined country, which best reflects the influences of the surrounding progress and defines the individual progress stages. It monitored the dynamics of ICT sales, depending on its form (or investment services) and the influence of global and local economy. The output of work is the confirmation of theories: - A smoother development of ICT in their delivery of services in the form of investment compared to sales, - Primary dependence of ICT development on global changes and secondary dependence on changes in local economies. ICT development cycle was formulated in the frame of confirmed theories, it was certified its compliance with J.Schumpeter's theory of innovation cycles according and it was designed by its mathematical model. This work allowed to justify the development of ICT trends and contributed to the prediction of its further progress.

Future of disk arrays in SSD era
Sládek, Petr ; Koubský, Petr (advisor) ; Vojta, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis aims at verification of using emerging Solid-State drives in disk arrays. The advent of SSD disks caused a small revolution in area of data storage, because the growth performance of hard drives has been slow compared to other PC components. But an entirely different principle of operation could mean compatibility problems between SSD and related technologies, such as RAID. This thesis aims at analyzing all the relevant technologies, mainly HDD, SSD and RAID. To achieve this objective, information from literature, articles and other appropriate sources will be used. Other objectives of this thesis are to determine how much are the SSDs suitable for use in the disk array, because low performance RAID controllers or different principles of operation could limit their efficiency. This question should be answered by submission of selected types of storage arrays to synthetic and practical tests of performance. The final goal is to use financial analysis of the test solutions as a shared file storage. Today, remote access to data is used by a wide range of job positions. Slow storage could mean inefficient use of working time and therefore unnecessary financial costs. The goal of my work is primarily to provide answers to the questions mentioned above. Currently it is very hard to find tests of more complex forms of disk arrays based on solid-state drives. This article can be also very useful for companies where fileservers are used to share user data. Based on the result of cost analysis, the company can then decide what type of storage is best for its purpose.

SAP Products for Utility Companies
Šafránek, Jan ; Koubský, Petr (advisor) ; Kopecký, Petr (referee)
SAP IS-U is de-facto industry standard for customer information systems for utility companies through Europe -- used in electricity, gas, district heating and water utilities industry. These core modules are needed for invoicing tasks and most classical day-to-day scenarios: * IS-U BF Basic Functions * IS-U MD Master Data * IS-U DM Device Management * IS-U BI-IN Billing Invoicing * FI-CA Contract Accounts Especially for large customers in electricity and gas industry, IS-U EDM Energy Data Management is used for management of interval reading consumption and profiles. As utility industry evolves through market liberalization, unbundling processes are covered by IS-U IDE Intercompany Data Exchange (with PI Process Integration as and integration platform). Additionally, IS-U Work Management can be used to connect IS-U processes with PM Plant Maintenance functionality of SAP ERP and service department processes can be covered through two different products: * IS-U CS Customer Service - Older solution, less robust but fully integrated and easier for implementation * SAP CRM -- Stand-alone product, more robust, full featured solution My diploma theses can be used as a brief introduction into the world of IS-U and I also tried to answer these two additional questions: * Common processes that are not covered by IS-U * Comparison of ASAP and MMDIS methodology
