Changing role of GP in the Czech healthcare system

This thesis focuses on a comprehensive analysis of the position of general practitioners within the Czech healthcare system. Emphasis is placed on comparing the perspectives of three generations of general practitioners, encompassing medical students in the process of specialization selection, mid-career general practitioners, and those approaching retirement age. The objective of this study is to explore the historical development of the position of general practitioners and gain a detailed insight into its strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, the research delves into the identification of key factors that may influence this position over time. Lastly, the study evaluates whether the current healthcare reform addresses the present challenges and issues faced by both current and future general practitioners.
Actors of primary care in Slovakia

The thesis is mainly devoted to primary care in Slovakia. Through the analysis of semi- structured interviews with important actors of health policy, but also ordinary doctors, analyzes the attitudes of these actors, identifies the patterns that emerged from their statements, subjects them to mutual confrontation, finds agreements and alliances, and draws conclusions. The thesis is working with advocacy coalition framework and is using stakeholder analysis.
Approach towards women in birthing and postnatal care

This thesis focuses on the approach of obstetric and postnatal care providers towards women in the Czech Republic. To identify what experiences the mothers deemed essential and to explore the impact of physicians' approach towards them, qualitative research based on semi-structured interviews was conducted. Those interviews were later analyzed using mainly the sociological framework originating from Talcott Parson's role-based theory of the doctor-patient relationship, namely the paternalistic and partnership models of the doctor-patient relationship and the concept of person-oriented care. The main findings of the research are that interviewed women who experienced rather paternalistic model tend to imply overall dissatisfaction with the obstetric and postnatal care, meanwhile those women who experienced rather partnership model described their experiences as rather pleasant and stated they would choose the same hospital for labor again. The research identified six key topics, that interviewed women referred to as crucial for them in care providers' approach. Task shifting in nurses' competencies

The aim of this theses called Task shifting in nurses'competencies is to evaluate whether nurses in the Czech Republic know their legally established competencies and whether they support their further increase. Another goal is to compare the level of nurses'competencies in the Czech Republic and England. The research reveals that Czech nurses are not familiar with their legal competencies. However, they support their further increase on condition that their salary and legal protection rises. Following the example of England, Czech nurses could take over the prescribing of drugs and the interpretation of ECG.
Stigmatisation of Abused Women in Russian Society as a Social Problem

The thesis deals with the issue of stigmatization of women exposed to violence in Russian society, it mainly examines violence against women as a destructive phenomenon with different characteristics of its perception in the process of social development, and the stigmatization of women exposed to violence as a social phenomenon. As part of the work, a sociological survey was conducted in which 800,000 women from all over Russia participated. The research carried out in the form of a questionnaire tests established hypotheses based on statistics, and also discovers new data on the issue. The main goal of the thesis is the analysis and interpretation of the results of sociological research and the answer to the main research question, i.e. whether the stigmatization of women exposed to violence in Russia is a real process of social stigmatization, but victim-blaming. Formal Caregivers in Retirement Homes and Their Role in Fulfilling Wishes of the Elderly

The bachelor thesis focuses on formal caregivers in retirement homes and their role in fulfilling the wishes of the elderly. It describes the system of individual planning and presents its concrete form on the example of a home for the elderly established by the Central Bohemia Region. The case study uses semi-structured interviews with seven formal caregivers of the retirement home and an internal methodology of individual planning. The work captures the attitudes of the caregivers towards individual planning and the ways in which they deal with this task. The analysis demonstrates the importance of collaboration between the home's staff and the role of the individual planning coordinator in managing key workers. Carers' attitudes to individual planning can be classified on a spectrum of subjective rejection/acceptance. This rejection/acceptance is related to perceptions of the benefits and appropriateness of the current form of individual planning. The main problems faced by formal caregivers in individual planning are identified. These include lack of clarity about individual planning and a lack of understanding of its importance not only by caregivers but also by the clients. Mental health of the Czech university students

The diploma thesis deals with the mental health of university students in the Czech Republic. This work aims to map the factors that affect university students' mental health. Other goals are to determine the state of mental health of university students and determine to what extent university studies influence their mental health. The last goal of the thesis is to propose public policy measures that can be taken in this area as preventive and which could lead to improving the mental health of university students. The diploma thesis is based on the theory of Six Dimensions of Wellness (for the approach to the concept of mental health) and the theory of the social determents of health which approaches the factors that affect health in general. Hypotheses were developed from these theories and other literature. The research consists of two parts: qualitative and quantitative research. As part of quantitative research, the variables that affect the mental health of university students are examined using the Spearmen correlation coefficient.
