The subject of my bachelor thesis is a project of a new detached house with painting atelier in Martinice u Onšova. The designed house will be partly built partly on plot no. 140/2, the main part of the building is designed above the surface of the large pond (plot no. 145) Detached house for a four-member family has two overground floors. Parking is solved by a detached garage for two cars. Foundations are made up of reinforced concrete large diameter drilled pile and frame structure of strip foundation which supports loadbearing wall. Vertical loadbearing structures are designed of clay blocks. The vertical peripheral structures are provided with an insulation system with ventilated space. Floor-slab is designed of reinforced concrete. A two-layer barrel roof is a dominant of the building. A roof between detached house and atelier is designed as a walkable flat roof.

The subject of my diploma thesis is a project of a new mixed-use building in Košetice. This building connects more functions. It is going to be partly office, partly educational center with accommodation and one part will be used as a flat for building keeper. The building is L-shaped. Parking will be realized in front of the building near an access road. Behind the main part of the house, there is designed outdoor theater. The building has two aboveground floors. The enterence part is single-storey with vegetation roof. There is designed a saddle roof - wooden truss. The vertical peripheral structures are provided with an insulation system from mineral wool with ventilated space, the load-bearing structure is made of clay. The horizontal bearing structures are designed as monolithic reinforced concrete slabs. The project is created in a simple way to harmonize with the surrounding countryside.
Crossing the boundaries. Selected themes from the work of Fulvio Tomizza

There are "outer" and "inner" boundaries. These are constantly tempted and crossed by people. Boundaries exist on maps as borderlines protected by heavy barriers or as small stonewalls that separate neighbors' fields in the countryside. There are boundaries between the sea and the mainland, the village and the city, between two nations. Fulvio Tomizza, whose work is analyzed in this study, lived with these boundaries. He has been coming to terms with the outer boundaries his whole life in his work Incomprehensible Boundaries. He wrote of the boarder line between the "free world of Italy", where he had in fact never reached his inner freedom and between Istria that since 1954 belonged to the "unfree part of the world". He was well familiar with the boundaries between Italian and Slavic population from the Istria area, since the worlds of these two ethnic groups were clashing inside him. He had therefore dedicated his written work to undo these boundaries that caused separation and rather conjugated them and created space for meeting of cultures and everyday life influences. And so the inner boundaries, he has mediated to us in his writings became "points of connection" between the past and present, reality and dream, life and death. He himself presents a great example for "crossing of boundaries"; his...
