Secure, reliable and adaptive network based on Cisco devices
Lefler, Přemysl ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with design of secure, reliable and adaptive network using Cisco network devices. Thesis includes design of a network with description of each individual technology, that were used in the design to meet requirements for safety, reliability and adaptivity. The last chapter describes frequently occuring network attacks along with a description of their execution followed by implementation of defense against them.
Location of node real position on the Internet
Kopeček, Tomáš ; Müller, Jakub (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
In this thesis I focus on finding the position of computers on the Internet. This need for locating computers originated in the last several years through the creation of overlay networks. For this activity there are many algorithms. This paper describes the King method that estimated the distance between communicating stations by using the domain name system. The aim of this work is to verify the accuracy of the King method in experimental PlanetLab network. This network provides access for more than 1000 stations worldwide.
Analysis of email spam sources
Caha, Tomáš ; Kubánková, Anna (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The first part of this thesis deals with an approach of designing and developing of application for IP geolocation using various geolocation databases. Methods of geographical location of network devices and amount of available data provided by chosen commercial and freely accessible geolocation databases are presented. The data are summarized with focus on methods of obtaining information about IP addresses from various databases. In the paper there are also presented ways used to develop the Python application and its parts, which can be easily reused in other programs. The command line program was created to demonstrate that all parts of the developed application work properly. The whole application is freely accesible under the conditions of the MIT license, published on GitHub (https://github.com/tomas-net/ip2geotools/) and in the Python package index PyPi. The second part of this thesis deals with the description of cyberthreats and the use of developed application to mass geolocation of IP addresses that are listed in chosen freely accessible lists as sources of email spam or cyberattacks. Geographical analysis of cyberattacks sources shows countries of origin. Results of analysis are presented in graphs and maps.
Advanced methods of filtering network traffic in the Linux system
Peša, David ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Kacálek, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis is meant to provide techniques in designing and building a standalone packet filtering firewall in Linux machines, mainly for small sites who don’t give much service to Internet users. It deals with attenuating the effect of the most common types of attacks using iptables. It guides how to design, implement, run, and maintain Firewall. Techniques for continuously monitoring attacks is attempted. It also give a historical, architectural and technical overview of firewalls and security attacks.
Geolocation in Internet using network topologies
Dvořák, Filip ; Verner, Lukáš (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The thesis discusses about modern geolocation methods and it describes the basic principles of their work. The work is divided into 2 parts - the theoretical one and the practical one. The first part of the thesis is focused on the description of these methods and on the explanation of its basic concepts which are used for determining of the physical position of the station according to its IP address. The second more extensive part of the work focuses on the description of the realization of algorithm in the Octant method in the programming language of Java and its use in the experimental net of PlanetLab. One important thing is to create a set of reference points and targets, which are necessary for the testing of the whole algorithm of the Octant Method. The results of estimated accuracy of target location obtained by the Octant method and their comparison with the results obtained by active methods of CBG, SOI and with the passive method of GeoIP are listed at the end of this work.
Measurement of PlanetLab experimental network
Andrašov, Ivan ; Bečková, Zuzana (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This thesis deals with measurement of transfer parameters for nodes in experimental network PlanetLab. In theoretical part of this thesis we analyse experimental network PlanetLab, basic terminology in this network, its goals and some current projects run- ning under this network. Next we analyse measured network parameters specifically Ping, SSH delay and respond to SCP. Practical part of this thesis is formed around real im- plementation of measurement where in specific sub chapters are written exact problems of said parameter together with source code.
Routing among autonomous systems in Internet
Daněk, Michal ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
Bachelor thesis describes the architecture of the Internet, its division into autonomous system and methods of their interconnection. Furthermore extensively describes routing mechanisms among autonomous system but also inside. More space is dedicated to routing protocols OSPF and BGP. At the end of the work is designed laboratory task for subject Network Architecture where this protocols are used.
Linux kernel operating system optimization for battery-powered devices
Lefler, Přemysl ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Benedikt, Jan (advisor)
his thesis focuses on optimization of Linux-based operating system for a accumulator-powered device Raspberry Pi 4. Compared to other devices commonly used in Internet of Things projects, the Raspberry Pi 4 offers many functions within one device. However, the disadvantage is the high consumption of electricity. The aim of this thesis is to achieve greatest possible savings in electricity consumption of the Raspberry Pi 4 device, with regard to functionality of the device as a server for data collection from sensors.
Cyberbullying
Korbel, Michal ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This is work deals with the creation of the questionnaire, it’s purpose is to prevent threats in cyberspace largely focus on cyberbullying and also should act preemptively to selected ages from parents, pupils from primary school to secondary school students. The questionnaire is to determine the Police of the Czech Republic not only by the District Department, as well as all police officers, criminologists for occupy in the prevention, detection and analysis of cyberbullying.
Quality of Service Ensurence in Data-Networks
Mareček, Petr ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Koton, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of ensuring the Quality of Service (QoS) in data networks. The first part is theoretical, where is described QoS technology and her mechanisms. At the end of the theoretical part, possible queuing systems are shortly presented. The second part of the thesis deals with the design and implementation of a laboratory exercise with the aim of proving theoretical knowledge and evaluating the suitability of a certain queuing system according to the provided services.
