Possibility of using a speech therapy application as part of speech therapy prevention

The diploma thesis examines the usability of the speech therapy application for children of preschool age in speech therapy prevention. It focuses on the most common deficits in the areas of optical and auditory perception and seriality. It tracks progress, the most common mistakes and areas that are well developed in children. It investigates the possibilities of using the application in common practice during speech therapy prevention in kindergarten for children of preschool age. For the purposes of the research, was chosen a qualitative method, carried out by the method of analysis and interpretation of data from the results of testing eight children from kindergarten aged 4 to 7 years. In order to complete the issue, a structured interview was conducted with a speech therapy assistant who works in a kindergarten. It was found that the created logopedic application can be used both for individual logopedic prevention and in a group. The speech therapy assistant also recommends the application for independent work in the home environment. Furthermore, it was found that the most frequent deficits are in the area of auditory perception, especially the auditory differentiation of words. Communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade

The thesis deals with the topic of communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade. The theoretical part is devoted to the theoretical definition of the issue of school maturity and readiness, with an emphasis on communication skills and the impact of impaired communication skills on first grade education. It also focuses on the possibilities of developing a child's communication skills before entering first grade. One of the chapters focuses on Elkonin's stimulating language skills training program. The practical part of the thesis is conducted by qualitative method of investigation through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a special educator - speech therapist and a speech therapy assistant. The practical part explores the developmental opportunities for the child with impaired communication skills and the benefits of the Elkonin programme for training language skills for impaired communication skills in preparation for the start of compulsory schooling. Possibilities of the development of reading preliteracy for children in the speech therapy class of the kindergarten

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the possibilities of developing reading literacy for children in a speech therapy class of kindergarten. The aim of the thesis is the analysis and implementation of the possibilities of developing reading preliteracy as well as the analysis of selected book titles that can have a positive influence on the development of preliteracy for children in kindergarten. In the theoretical part are defined terminological concepts related to reading literacy, its strategies and possibilities of development on the basis of the literature. It also defines current Framework Education Programm for Preschool Education. It also introduces the critical thinking programme and the three-phase learning model E-U-R. In the empirical part, are presented case studies of five selected participants of the research investigation who are children with impaired communication skills attending a speech therapy class of a kindergarten in Třinec. Cochlear implantation in prelingually deaf children from the perspective of people with hearing loss

This diploma thesis takes a look at cochlear implantation in prelingually deaf children from the view of adults with hearing loss. Although most hearing parents would most likely make use of the option to at least partially restore the hearing of their non-hearing child, that may not be the only possible solution for people with hearing loss. The aim of this thesis is to map and to clarify the views and opinions of people with hearing loss on cochlear implantation in prelingually non-hearing children. This thesis highlights the link between cochlear implants and the Deaf culture and community, where the topic of cochlear implantation is often controversial. The theoretical section introduces key topics regarding the aim of this thesis, especially the association between hearing loss and the Deaf community, communication of people with hearing loss, while also introducing basic information about cochlear implantation. In the practical section of the thesis, as part of the qualitative research, the statements of eleven respondents are quoted, which were obtained in the form of semi- structured interviews in Czech Sign Language. School maturity and preparation of the child the 1st grade from the point of view of speech therapy

This diploma thesis deals with speech skills, the skills associated with speech, and children's maturity and readiness for school before starting Year 1 of primary school. Besides, it discusses the methods applied in the children's preparation for school entry. The theoretical part of this work focuses on maturity and readiness for school, and on the other hand immaturity and unreadiness, their diagnosis and deferred school entry. Furthermore, it specifies the characteristics of a pre-school child, describing their motor, cognitive, social and motivational-volitional development. The last section of this part deals with a pre-schooler's communication, and with the language, speech and communication according to the framework educational programme for pre-school education. It also studies the development of communication, risk factors of speech development, communication disorders and a child with communication disorders in nursery school. The introduction to the practical part presents the objectives and the methodology of qualitative research and describes the research sample. Besides, it includes the process, evaluation, and results of a pre-schooler's diagnosis and of a preliminary test of a pre-schooler's maturity. Perception of distance learning from the perspective of teachers to student with special educational needs in primary education

The aim of the diploma thesis and research project is to find out the pitfalls and positives of distance education in realiton to pupils with special educational needs in mainstream schools from the point of view of teachers. The work responds to the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, when education was forced to introduce nationwide distance education. In the theoretical part, the work deals with pupils with special educational needs and legislation, counseling system and inclusive education belonging to them. Furthermore, the factors influencing the educational process of pupil with SEN are defined, with and emphasis on the framework educational program of basic education, support measures, teaching assistants and methods and forms of work with these pupils. The last chapter is devoted to distance education, where the elements of distance education, the conducted research and the cooperation of all actors involved in education during the pandemic are described. School maturity and preparedness from the point of view of speech therapists

This diploma thesis focuses on school maturity and preparedness from the perspective of speech-language therapists. The theoretical part focuses on the preschool child, his characteristics, and growth in all areas, including speech. Furthermore, it introduces speech disorders in preschool children by describing what impaired communication skills are and also discusses the most common speech disorders among preschool children. The thesis also presents information about speech therapy prevention, stating what its principles are, and also introduces preschool education in the context of speech therapy prevention. The last chapter deals with the child's preparation for entering the first grade, explains the difference between school maturity and school preparedness and introduces school immaturity and school deferrals. The practical part is prepared with the help of a qualitative research investigation, where a structured interview with open questions was used. The respondents consisted of speech therapists working in the health or education department. A total of 12 interviews were conducted.
