Study of thin film catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction on proton exchange membrane fule cell cathode

In this thesis, we present the investigation of influence of methanol crossover, which significantly decreases the performance of DMFC (Direct Methanol Fuel Cell). Additionally the poisoning effect occurs on the cathode side. The durability of cathode catalyst exposed by methanol vapor is studied. Moreover, the regene- rative behavior after exposition has been found. The comparison of commercial catalyst with our own sputtered Pt and PtCo and PtRu thin layers as cata- lyst is presented. Obtained results have shown that PtCo is reasonable compro- mise between pure Pt, which has high performance, and PtRu, which is tolerant to methanol poisoning. Future research should further evaluate the advantages of PtCo cathode catalyst prepared by standard procedures and its market poten- tial in comparison with PtRu. 1

Case study of physiotherapeutical treatment of patient after triple osteotomy of pelvis

This bachelor's thesis is focused on summary of theoretical knowledge and selected therapy in cases of triple osteotomy of pelvis. It contains two parts. First (theoretical) part of the work includes information about anatomy, kinesiology and examination of pelvis girdle, pelvis and hip joint, theory about congenital dysplasia of the hip, the treatment and physiotherapeutic methods after triple osteotomy of pelvis. Second (special) part of this thesis contains detailed case study of the patient after Steel's triple osteotomy of pelvis. This case report was written on the basis of the practical experience in Centrum léčby pohybového aparátu in Prague from 9th January to 3th February 2012.

The most often problems in shoulder girdle of women basketball players and options of physiotherapeutic affect

Title The most often problems in shoulder girdle of women basketball players and options of physiotherapeutic affect. Objectives The main goal of the thesis is in theoretical part to summarize potentional problems in shoulder girdle of basketball players, options and solutions of these problems. There is complex examination of shoulder girdle of dominant upper limb of women basketball players in an experimental part and figure out where is the main problem in this part. Methods There are two parts of the thesis, the first one is the theoretical background for second experimental part where complex functional physiotherapeutic examination of shoulder girdle with using of aspection, palpation and special tests for shoulder girdle were made. The most often problems in shoulder girdle of women basketball player has been determined by using the results of testing process. Results Testing of shoulder girdle of women basketball players showed how often blockage of ribs is. Blockage of fifth rib was present in 90% of the probands, frequent was also decentred position of shoulder and shoulder blade, hypertone of upper fixators of shoulder blade and pectoral muscles. Investigation of thin films for hydrogen fuel cells

Clean and highly efficient energy source has long been sought to solve energy and environmental problems. Fuel cells, which convert the chemical energies sto- red in fuel directly into electrical energy, are expected to be the key technology. In this thesis the catalytic active layers (specifically Pt, PtCo, PtNi, PtRu) for Direct methanol fuell cell (DMFC) are studied. We have evaluated PtCo as the best cathode catalysts. We have significantly reduced the amount of platinum as well as the power loss at higher concentrations of methanol. The sputtered PtCo catalyst is comparable power density in comparison with commercial Pt catalyst while the specific power per gram of platinum is several times higher. The speci- fic power of our anode catalyst layers is comparable to reference catalysts. Our findings are useful for future improvements of the anode catalyst layer for DMFC.
