SIMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION ANALYSIS OF THE AUTOSYNCHRONOUS SUBSYSTEMS IN VLSI DEVICE
Kováč, Michal ; Kostka,, František (referee) ; Jalovecký, Rudolf (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
This thesis focuses on problem-solution analysis of synchronous digital circuits; the results of which are autosynchronous circuit design methodology, timing parameter definitions based on simulation models and constraint settings. The RTL transformation of the synchronous state machine in VHDL language to an autosynchronous state machine was created with minimal modifications for the simple design of these circuits. Following this, a comparison of the transformed state machines with their synchronous originals in parameters such as chip area, current consumption and timing specification domain is introduced. The summation of this thesis displays a theoretical comparison of several types of synchronization (synchronous, autosynchronous, fundamental asynchronous, EAIC, Bundled-data, Dual-rail) which are presented on the single state machine example with the same technology parameters.
Adjustable source feeded and controlled by USB bus
Staněk, Miroslav ; Frýza, Tomáš (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is concept and realization of voltage source which is controlled and feeded by Universal Serial Bus. There will be presented whole design, execution, development progress and finalization of this project in the following text. This source must boost and buck standard voltage from USB. So it will be necessary using two source lines. Microcontroller of AVR family will be used in the direct part of this adjustable source. Into this microcontroller will be embedded USB interface by the software solution. The microcontroller isn‘t used only for communication with PC by the computer programme, but it is also used for switching the source lines by the PWM modulation. According to the minimum output voltage scale (0 – 15 V) this source is useful for a wide spectrum of low- power devices. This equipment could be helpful together with laptop to charging devices (cell phone, camera, pocket osciloscope etc.), which are carried with notebook for doing outdoor activities and measurements.
Accumulator diagnostic bus interface
Chytka, František ; Kolouch, Jaromír (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The thesis deals with design and construction of diagnostic device for batteries. In the analysis I described and compared well known I2C bus and quite similar SMBus. The latter bus is used in the laptop batteries called Smart Battery. The design includes the USB bus, which I described briefly in analysis too. I suggested a several designs, discuss them and build the best one of them. The realization of the diagnostic device includes construction aspect and programing aspect. Both aspects are described in the thesis. At last, the results of test diagnostic of several batteries carried out by designed device are introduced.
Microprocessor controlled testing unit
Mejzlík, Vladimír ; Tošovský, Petr (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
This project deals with the design of an autonomous microprocessor controlled testing unit for automatic controlling the output of the tested device, depending on the excitation of its inputs. There are possible realizations of testing unit hardware functional blocks described. Possible options are objectively analyzed in accord with the project specification and with regard to the mutual compatibility of individual blocks, availability, price and desired functionality. The most appropriate selected solution is implemented using the specific circuit elements. The output of the project is realized functional testing unit and elaborated product documentation. There was control software for the microprocessor of the unit written. The software implements an interpreter for the test algorithm execution, carries out the test evaluation and stores a record of the test process to the file. There was also the utility for a PC, which allows uploading tests to the testing unit via USB created.
Signal and data logger
Borsányi, Tamás ; Vyskočil, Pavel (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The goal of this project is to design a signal and data logger, which captures analog and digital signals with very long record time. The device supports multichannel complex triggering, a real-time oscilloscope-like mode and an offline mode for analyzing of previously sampled data. This project contains detailed analysis of the topic, description of hardware and software solutions and used methods. The thesis also contains verification tests and measurements. This device will be mainly used for hardware debugging of microprocessor based applications.
Wireless station with connection to IoT network
Kubíček, Richard ; Povalač, Aleš (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of WiFi station for connection sensors and drivers with Inetrnet of Things connection. The station uses WiFi module ESP8266. Description of component which the station consists is also part of the thesis. Description of created library for control module ESP8266 by microcontroller is also part of thesis. Finally, documents for production of this station are also part of the thesis.
Laboratory kit for experimental work with CoolRunner devices
Gajdošík, Petr ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the programming of the CPLD device from the CoolRunner.II family, made by Xilinx company, through the use of USB bus. This bus and its application is an integral part of many devices nowadays. These programmable devices are used very often, mainly because of their speed and flexibility. They can be used in many different applications. The main task is to design a laboratory kit containing input switches, outputs of signaling LED diods and a 7segments display. Next possibility is to connect it with a chance plug in many external inputs and outputs. The thesis contains some examples of programs in the VHDL language.
LCD display controlled by a MCS-51 microcontroller
Forman, Tomáš ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The target of this project is a study of posibilities of connection LCD displays to single-chip microcomputers. Then to design, make and drop a mechanism which is able to arrange communication between a dot matrix LCD and a personal computer. A piece of the project is a creation of needed software for a microprocessor and a creation of its own communication protocol. The last part is making a simple service application for a personal computer which is able to send the data to the mechanism. The next target of the project is getting a view of used technologies, possibilities of their next use and next possibilities of the mechanism already created.
Additional LCD Display for Laboratory Kit with a Programmable Device
Pajskr, Jaroslav ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The main part of the digital application is its user interface. Users can check the status of the programme or change its state. There are many ways to obtain a suitable interface. During the design stage the simplest interface is chosen that provides the necessary functions. In most cases the interface contains a display. This diploma thesis deals with the design of an extension board to plug in a display to a programmable device, a control algorithm for the display and the design of a simple display interface. There are two ways to design software. The first of them is achieved by the processor PicoBlaze, which contains all the required functions. The second solution is by the state machine written in VHDL language. Both solutions can be used in the same way, but the latter solution is quicker and requires less hardware resources.
Wireless IR Sensor for Area Invasion Detection
Suchý, Lukáš ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
The target of this Bachelor thesis to design a security system for detection of the monitored space disruption, containing several battery powered sensors which are connected to central unit. From Bachelor thesis is evident, that for communication is to be used integrated circuit SI4432. Sensor detects motion in distance no less than 5 m and sends reports of the space disruption to central unit where this information will be processed. After that the user will be informed by the central unit. Sensor unit should be battery powered with lifetime in years. In conlusion, the system it tested in real work.
