Criminological and social aspects of juvenile delinquency
KOLMAN, Martin
The aim of this thesis called "Criminological and social aspects of juvenile deliquency" is to map the occurrence of criminal behavior of juveniles in Jindřichův Hradec district depending on the social class of family. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part first defines criminological aspects of juvenile deliquency and then deals with etiology of juvenile deliquency. Practical part is based on the research. For the quantitative research, a statistical method was used. Analysis of the documents was used as a data collecting technique. The sample examined are juveniles (15 18 yr. old) who have a record in the evidence of curators for children and juveniles in Jindřichův Hradec district. An overview of juvenile criminal activities in years 2011 2016 was drawn up based on the research. Hypotheses were determined in the research: H1: I suppose that in families with unfavorable economical and social conditions there will be more frequent occurrence of deliquent behavior amongst juveniles. H1a: I suppose that in families with unfavorable economical and social conditions there will be more frequent occurrence of property deliquent behavior amongst juveniles. Chosen hypotheses were confirmed. Research shows that juveniles from socially weaker classes are more prone to deliquency and criminality. These juveniles also had higher frequency of occurrence of property deliquency and crimes.
Lexical gaps in Czech as compared with English: their identification and characterization
Kolman, Martin ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor) ; Vašků, Kateřina (referee)
Lexical Gaps Abstract in English The general assumption among most language users is that every single concept in our world can be labeled by a proper lexical item, i.e. there is a name for all of the physical or abstract entities we live with and situations we experience. It has been suggested by several studies, and we will concentrate on these, that there are usually several conceptual structures in the studied languages which are in fact not lexicalized. This linguistic phenomenon is called a lexical gap, and there is more than one type of lexical gap observable in languages. Recent studies of the occurrence of a lexical gap show various approaches to the subject with various results. The study of lexical gaps can be approached from the point of view of lexical fields, as suggested by Alan Cruse and Adrienne Lehrer among others. In this approach different fields: taxonomies, hierarchies, clusters, grids, linear structures and matrixes help to organize the lexicon into conceptual structures where the missing structural part is then best observable and studied with relation to the other units in the field. Other approaches, Bentivogli and Pianta for example, favour contrastive lexicological studies where a lexical gap is identified as a missing translational equivalent in a target language to a lexical...
Analysis of household consumption in the EU
Kolman, Martin ; Bílková, Diana (advisor) ; Malá, Ivana (referee)
The goal of this work is to analyze the evolution of household consumption of the states in the EU. The consumption will be researched in the view of classification COICOP, which is the classification of individual consumption by purpose. After mapping of this evolution the estimation of future values will be done from known time series. This estimation will be performed by two different ways. First one will respect the composition of household consumption in sections of classification COICOP. The second one will only work with time series of average consumption for all sections together. To compare the states cluster analysis will be done. This analysis will be done by two ways again. First one will be aimed to analyze the current situation and the second one will be aimed to analyze the evolution of household consumption. Instead of Microsoft Excel STATGRAPHICS X64 CENTURION and SPSS will be used in this thesis. Household consumption prognosis is the main benefit of this thesis. This prognosis is made for all sections of COICOP. Analysis has shown, that the consumption should rise in future. There are few exceptions, mainly countries with not good economic situation as Greece.
Modelling the trend of economic burden index for EU states
Kolman, Martin ; Arltová, Markéta (advisor) ; Helman, Karel (referee)
The purpose of this work is to analyze economic burden index in states of European Union. After describing the history of index for every state, the estimation of index evolution will be made. The analysis includes as well the graph for each state in which a history of index is clearly displayed from year 1992. There is a need to know the number of people in particular economic generation to calculate the value of index. There are information about the amount of people in five years age groups at website of Eurostat. We can get the number of people in preproductive, productive and postproductive generation after counting of suitable values. We will earn the value of economic burden index after putting the values into scheme. Exponential smoothing is used to model the trend. The evolution of index in next five years is estimated by the best type of this method.
