Dry cargo chartering

This thesis deals with the subject of dry cargo chartering. The aim is to describe the issues, which are not common in Czech Republic, from both the theoretical and practical side. Both parts emphasize the main aspects, which are followed by suitable findings and comments. All examples used in the work are based on internal information of a shipping company.

International maritime container transportation with a focus on session Latin America – EU

In its theoretical -- methodical part, the thesis is focusing on the subject of containerization, characterizes the liner sea transportation (shipping lines), describes the current situation on the sea freight market, characterizes selected shipping lines operating on the trade: Latin America -- EU and describes the ports on the export side: Callao and Paita. In the practical part, it addresses the progression of the transportation chain, beginning with the client's inquiry and ending with delivering the cargo at the consignee's premises. I am also presenting the transportation string through an actual shipment from the Peruvian port of Callao to Prague.

The International Marketing Activities of ARKU Maschinenbau GmbH In The Time Of The Crisis

The main target of the Master's thesis is to evaluate international marketing activities of the researched subject in the time of the world economical crisis. The subject is the company ARKU Maschinenbau GmbH. The researched subject's activites will be compared with created theoretical basis. The theoretical part is completing the information from the area of marketing, precisly international marketing, and is complementing them by the theory of the management of the crises and collected data about current world economical crisis. The practical part is describing the real international marketing activities of the company ARKU Maschinenbau GmbH, because the most of these activities were, more or less, influenced by the crisis. The thesis is also describing and evaluating the marketing and other reactions and the arrangements that company had to accept to make it's situation better.

The issue of intermodal transport connection between Czech Republic and the seaports

The subject of the thesis is the analysis of the intermodal connection between Czech Republic and the seaports. The importance of this connection for the Czech Republic as for an open economy with a large volume of international trade is undervalued. The connection between Czech Republic and the ports is mainly provided by the container combined transport road -- rail. It is necessary to pay attention to the development of this field as it has a potential to be the most effective way of transport considering both economical and environmental criteria. The aim of the thesis is to survey the issue of intermodal connection with the ports, to evaluate the current status and future development options, including the barriers to this development. The result of the thesis is an analyzed current situation: the ports to which Czech Republic is connected have been determined as well as the modes of transport and the key players on the Czech market that provide the shipping services to the ports. A significant part of attention is paid to METRANS, a.s. which is the leading provider of intermodal transport services between Czech republic and the ports. A major problem associated with the development of combined transport is the harmonization of the conditions between road and rail transport. There is one chapter of the thesis which is devoted to this issue. Thanks to the information obtained from companies operating in the intermodal transport business, it was possible to calculate the costs related to the transport of the consignment by road and rail route, to highlight the problems in the daily operation of combined transport, to identify the weaknesses that may hinder the development of the METRANS or to bring other real outcomes.

Groupage service in maritime transportation and export from Czech Republic

The topic of this thesis is groupage service in maritime transportation and its use for export out of Czech Republic. In the theoretical and methodological part I am defining the main terms in maritime transportation and maritime transportation in general. In the thesis I am describing the role of maritime transportation in the Czech Republic emphasized by statistics. Further I am writing about containerization and main container types because those are very important for the groupage service. In the practical part I am describing the processes of exports groupage service (LCL) within company Austromar spol. s r.o. on which I am applying business cases to to show how those processes work in reality. One of the business cases is transportation of hazardous material. In the last part of thesis I am comparing the direct and non-direct container with example of the freight charges calculation.

A tool for determination finite seismic source parameters via stopping phases method

We present a special (interactive) tool for particular processing of seismograms from West Bohemia region. The purpose of the data investigation is to determine the parameter of (simplified) seismic source. There are given basic information about the seismic region, its activity, about the used method and about its particular realization. The developed tool is described including screen shots of the graphical interfaces.

Carnal stratification in colony of bees

This thesis will address gender stratification colonies. In addition, there will outline the issues concerning the origins and development of hives or internal and external environmental laws in the colony. In this work will also be mention of the relations in the colony, the division of labor and communication conditional chemicals and the number of individuals in the colony. Furthermore, there is one part of this work will be devoted to a major bee species on Earth. The aim of the work will prove that every bee has a function of sex.

WWW presentation of the Basic cynology organization in Písek

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create an official dynamic web presentation of Basic cynological organization in Písek and to place it on a suitable server hosting. The presentation will be created by using PHP technology, its content will be stored in MySQL database for simpler updates made by common user (e.g. any employee or any member of this non-profit organization) in the future. Web formatting will be written entirely in CSS, web pages will conform to an XHTML 1.0 Strict specification and optimized for every modern search engine. The presentation will consist of an administrator section, a form for individual online updates of the web content, members photo gallery, fulltext searching, news section, competitions and exams results and any other data required by the organization's management.

Robust solver of a system of nonlinear equations

ANNIT (Artificial Neural Network Inversion Tool) is solver of a set of non- linear equations. It is implemented in MATLAB and Scilab. ANNIT is based on numerical approximation of mapping the right hand sides residuals of the original set of equations to searched parameters. A population of individuals is used for building such approximation. The shape, location and size of this population is adaptively changed during the inversion depending on the convergence of the solved problem. ANNIT has been thoroughly tested by using a set of standard problems and also by using selected geophysical problems (localization of the earthquake hypocenter, magnetotelluric inversion, inversion of group velocities of surface waves etc.).
