Prevalence and patterns of alcohol use among members of prison services in Prague

Background: The Prison Officers in Czech Republic are classified as high-risk in terms of alcohol abuse, mostly because of challenging and stresfull working environment. Work exhaustion and the challenging situatons could lead to development of alcohol-related problems. However, this topic is in the sphere of the military forces taboo mainly due to fears of termination of employment. Objectives: The main objective of this diploma thesis is to map and describe the degree of risk patterns of alcohol use among Prison Officers in Czech Republic. The second objective of the thesis is to compare individual departments and length of service in connection with alcohol use. Methods: In the research we used quantitative methods which included a questionnaire survey. The non-proportional statistical sampling was used during the research with set of selected 249 respondents. The analysis of the questionnaire was carried out using descriptive statistical methods. Results: According to the questionaire results; more than a fifth of respondents, are at high risk or at direct risk to become addicted to alcohol. The effect of facilitation physiotherapy on cognitive functions in multiple sclerosis patients

Cognitive function disorders have an enormous impact on the life quality of a patient, his or her family and close people. It influences the patient's job, social interaction and independence. This diploma thesis focuses on the possibility of improving cognitive functions concerning multiple sclerosis with the help of facilitation physiotherapy. Twelve disordered volunteers participated a two-month physiotherapeutic programme (motor programs activating therapy), for 1 hour, twice per week. Before the beginning and after the end of the therapeutic programme an examination by a clinic test PASAT and the monitoring of functional magnetic resonance was done. The results of functional magnetic resonance were further compared with the results of group of healthy volunteers. Concerning clinic test, the results of the disordered patients have improved after the therapy. In functional magnetic resonance statistics the earlier start and change of a curve progress of brain activation was discovered, which portrays improving speed of processing information at multiple sclerosis disordered.
The experience of bullying among pupil of primary schools

The aim of this thesis is to focus from different perspectives on a very topical issue of bully at primary schools, which can have a really bad influence on the experience of pupils in the school for a lifetime. Furthermore, in an empirical investigation to explain how is the bully considered in the eyes of teachers and whether they are able to deal with it effectively. The theoretical part deals more specifically with bully at primary schools and from the definition of the term bully to its prevention. Describes the most common types of bullies, which may occur in this surround. Subsequently, pays our attention on the profiles of the main actors of this pathological phenomenon. Conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the right procedures of bully while its actors are being asked which is followed by a work of a school teacher with his class, aggressors and victims in order to prevent any repetition of the situation and to ovoid or minimize the potential consequences. The practical part contains the results of the survey which was undertaken in 2010 at primary schools in Pardubice. Its aim was to determine the theoretical knowledge and practical experience of educators with issues relating to bully at primary schools
Dispute resolution with an international element within the area of sports law

RESUMÉ Title of the thesis: "Dispute resolution with an international element within the area of sports law". The aim of the thesis is to outline the systém of the dispute resolution reflecting sport specifics, especially the autonomy of sport bodies. The autonomy allows sport federations to establish decision-making bodies deciding upon the rights and duties of their members. In the first chapter of the thesis I discuss the proceedings before the decision-making bodies of the international sport federations. These bodies decide especially on disciplinary matters. As appeal bodies they deal with challenged decisions of the lower organizational level authorities. They also exercise jurisdiction in all matters entrusted according to the statute or other regulations while applying especially regulations of the relevant sport federation. I discuss the compliance of the principle of the fair proceedings and the issue of the binding force of a decision. The decision of sport bodies can be challenged only after the exhaustion of the remedies within the relevant sport federation in the proceedings before an ordinary court or arbitral tribunal if an arbitral agreement have been concluded. Counselling in smoking cessation provided by addiction professionals in the selected outpatient addiction treatment services

Background: Clients in addictological outpatient care are often not just a user of another addictive substance, but also smokers. Workers in these outpatient services focus especially on the primary addictive substance, despite the fact that there are many studies nowadays that prove that quitting tobacco products along with the primary addictive substance increases treatment success. Objectives: The aim of this work is to discover whether and how workers in the selected addictological outpatient services provide counselling to their clients in the area of smoking cessation. Methods: A qualitative approach was chosen for the research, which included semi- structured interviews in which a range of questions had been proposed beforehand. Respondents were obtained by deliberate selection. A total of 13 addictological outpatient services in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region were invited ti participate, 6 of them participated in the research. Results: The results of the research show that most experts in the selected addictological outpatient services do not focus primarily on smoking cessation. Only a third of them work with clients who deal only with tobacco dependence. This counseling takes the form of individual therapies. Communication Activities of ZOO Prague in the Period 2010-12 and Their Historical Context

This thesis aims to introduce and analyse the basic methods of arts marketing and marketing communications used by nonprofit organizations using the example of Prague Zoo. Selected method of this thesis is the observation and subsequent description of the main communication and marketing techniques used by Prague Zoo in the years 2010 - 2012. This thesis describes the main subject of the communication campaigns introduced during this period and also explores the following. Analysis of selected historical events that have influenced the current form and communication of the observed subject. Introduces basic terminology and examples of marketing, arts marketing, marketing research, corporate identity, image, logo, crisis management and others. Explores the longstanding dispute over the logo of the Zoo with artist Cihlář which led to complete corporate design change which has been introduced on the occassion of the celebration of 80 years of founding of Prague Zoo and crisis communications during the flood in 2002. Very briefly describes the fundamental historical moments, beginning with its founding.
