Comeback after injury associated with problems issues of elite tennis players

Title: COMEBACK AFTER INJURY ASSOCIATED WITH MOTIVATION ISSUES OF ELITE TENNIS PLAYERS The goal of thesis: The aim of this study was to describe comeback to competition after injury associated with motivation issues of elite tennis players. To meet the objective there were some scientific questions created. Scientific questions: In total there were three scientific questions created. For the concrete answers there was an anonymous questionnaire, which help us to get answers on our goal. These scientific questions follow: How did players feel, react and what they were interested in during convalescence? How did players doubt themselves during comeback period? How did players come up to psychological conditions during comeback? Methods: In the thesis, method of questioning was applied. There was an anonymous questionnaire composed of 18 questions created. The sample was 48 players older than 15 years, ranked up to 200th place of national ranking in the Czech Republic. The questionnaire was created largely based on a personal experience gained by the author and also based on professional expertise. Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players at the Grand Slam tournaments

Title: Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players at the Grand Slam tournaments Objectives: Diploma thesis is divided into two chapters. The aim of the first chapter is to make a comprehensive and valuable overview of the historical development of the greatest tennis tournaments called the Grand Slam from the very beginning until the present. The second part of this thesis focuses on Czechoslovak and Czech men's and women's tennis players who achieved the greatest success in these tournaments. Methods: I used historiographical method in my diploma thesis. Other methods used in this thesis are based on this method. In the first chapter, which is focused on the Grand Slam tournaments, I applied mostly progressive method which captures events from the past until the present. In the second chapter, which is aimed at Czechoslovak and Czech players, I used biographical and chronological methods. Results: Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players have been the most successful at Wimbledon, they have won there fourteen times. Wimbledon is followed by French Open with ten victories. Fewest victories have achieved our players at Australien Open and US Open. Among men, Ivan Lendl was the most successful in the men's single with eight victories at the Grand Slam tournaments. Analysis of the toss and impact in the tennis serve

Title: Analysis of the toss and impact in the tennis serve Objectives: The objective of our work is to analyse the phase of toss and hit in tennis serve and to compare the results between the players themselves. Methods: As the main method of data collection we used kinematic 3D analysis. Additional method was semi-structured interview with selected players for research. Results: We found that more stable performance at the phase of toss and hit achieves the player with the higher position on the tennis ranking. Furthermore we found that the ball in all serves was hit in front of the players body. The largest range of variation (most unstable) in both players was width M, that means hitting ball in a frontal plane in consideration of the vertical axis Y established by left foot tip designed by the server's. Title: Situations and problems of incipient tennis coaches Objectives: The objective of the bachelor thesis is to analyze situations and psychosocial problems of incipient tennis coaches. Methods: The study is conducted by qualitative form of research and by six personal case studies. The interviews with instructions were chosen as a method for data obtaining. All of them were recorded on audio recording device. Results: I created four themes - circumstances and reasons for the commencement of coaching activity, merits of coaching profession, the most common problems of incipient coaches and aims of incipient coaches. All of them above mentioned are crucial for the adaptation of beginning coaches during a transition period from player's activity. Verification of test battery of motoric assumptions for tennis

This thesis focuses on testing the motoric assumptions of junior category tennis players in certain sport games. The aim of this thesis is to compare the results of the motoric test regarding to three tennis players of various performance levels in chosen sport games. Thus define the substantive significance and specificity of each test towards tennis. The assumptions in the theoretical part are based on my Bachelor thesis. In said thesis I am dealing with the characteristics of tennis, the structure of sport performance, the factors which determine the sport efficiency in tennis and most importantly on physical condition. The theoretical part is also widened by newly acquired knowledge. In the result part, based on the comparison of the three tennis players of different performance levels, the substantive significance of the test in tennis was stated. Subsequently we present the results of our test subjects in selected sport games. Using the comparative analysis the differences of motoric assumptions in various sport games are stated. In conclusion the specificity of each test for tennis is evaluated. We confirmed the substantive significance for all the test besides the standing long jump test. Title: Fulfilling the principles of fair play tennis with players from age categories under 12 and 14 Objectives: The goal was to implement and evaluate the interview focused on compliance with the principles of fair play among tennis players in the age categories under 12 and 14. The research was based on the findings of randomly selected match participants made in the context of competition mixed tennis teams to provide insight into the present situation of fair play in these age categories, to identify problematic issues and provide recommendations for practice. Methods: The research method was a structured interview containing questions enclosed or semi-enclosed. Results: The object of the research were players of tennis in ages under 12 and under 14 born in 2003 - 2005, respectively 2001 - 2002. The results of the two-month research showed that the most serious transgressions, which are contrary to the principles of fair play, include break of game rules and inappropriate behavior. Failure to shake hand with an opponent and expressions of superiority over weaker opponents occurred to a lesser extent. Title of the bachelor's thesis: Structure of the sports performance in tennis singles Aim of the bachelor's thesis: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to design a model of the structure of the sports performance in tennis singles to demonstrate the importance of particular factors, their inner structure and their mutual relations. Methods used in the bachelor's thesis: This bachelor's thesis has a theoretical character and it is based on domestic and foreign literature review. There was applied the method of content analysis of documents along with genearal research method, analysis - synthesis and inductive - deductive approach. Achieved results: The result represents a designed model of the structure of sports performance in tennis singles. Mutual relations among particular factors are implied in the model. Title: Rehearsal of shooting from the wing position in handball Objectives: The aim of the work was to build and verify the training model for practicing and perfecting the shooting technique from the the wing position in handball. Based on the comparison and evaluation of each videoclip (before and after the intervention) five players tested, we found that this training model is effective. Methods: Five respondents players will be filmed during the shooting from the wing position, then the players go through during the months June and July seven training units, in the length thirty minutes, focusing on the progress of technique. After the completion of the training units, players will be filmed again and the videoclips will be compared with the original assessman. Experiance with joga for tennis coaches

Title: Experiance with joga for tennis coaches Objectives of work: The aim of my thesis is to analyze the possitive effects of yoga on the mental and physical health of tennis players. The data is gained by quality data collection methods. The secondary objective is, on the basis of information obtained from short interviews with coaches, to create a theoretical model of categorization. Method: In this thesis we used the method of interview and narrative interview. The data collected from the interviews, was used to create a theoretical model of categorization. A method of narrative interview with elements of the interview was used as a key method of collecting data from selected subjects. Results: Following numerous interviews with various subjets including coaches and trainers, I have come to the conclution, that yoga has a positive effect on the mental and physical health of tennis players. The main effects of yoga include: increased confidence and concentration on the court, accelerated healing, reduced pain in the spine (notibly in lumbar region), therefore increasing the flexibility of joints and improving the performance of players.
