History of the Mountain Rescue Service in the Czech Republic

Title: History of the Mountain Rescue Service in the Czech Republic The content of this paper is history of the Mountain Rescue Service in the Czechoslovak and later Czech Republic. The aim of this study is to accord comprehensive and clear information on the history of rescue in the mountains and to bring lay people the working of the Mountain Rescue Service at all. Based on available resources, i.e. materials of the textbooks, articles on the history of the Mountain Rescue Service, archival documents, narratives of historians and former members, the website of and the status and constitution of the Mountain Rescue Service, is here compiled history of the Mountain Rescue Service since the very beginning of rescue assistance in the mountains and establishing, through its development between the two world wars, boom after the Second World War and create a single national organization of the Mountain Rescue Service, to the recent history of this organization. At the close of this paper is described in more detail the history of area Vrchlabí and the tree of members of Mountain Rescue Service.
