The library of Eliška Krásnohorská

Předkládaná diplomová práce popisuje, analyzuje a zhodnocuje význam osobní knihovny Elišky Krásnohorské z pohledu knihovědného. Diplomová práce je postavena na zjišťování, výběru, analýze a vyhodnocování adekvátních pramenů. Práce je členěna na tři hlavní celky. První z nich podává výklad života Elišky Krásnohorské, doplněné o poznámky stran jejich knižních zvyků. Druhý celek je zaměřen již knihovědně. Zabývá se významem knih v osobním a profesním životě Elišky Krásnohorské, motivem knihy v jejím díle a prací Krásnohorské s knihou. Třetí celek pak podává výklad osobnosti Krásnohorské z hlediska jejího vzdělávacího působení, které bylo ovlivněno tiskem a knihami ve zvýšené míře. Jako příloha je zařazen soupis osobní knihovny Krásnohorské rozdělený na dvě části, z nichž první část představuje knihy zmiňované v její korespondenci, pamětech, a deníkových záznamech a druhá část je tvořena získanými katalogizačními lístky z Knihovny Gender studies, doplněna o poznámky a dedikace. Součástí práce jsou i obrazové přílohy související s informacemi zmiňovanými v hlavním textu.
Personal Library of Josef Václav Sládek

The aim of this thesis is to present the life and work of Josef Vaclav Sladek and show its relationship to the book from the perspective of the reader and author. The first part focuses on the life of Josef Vaclav Sladek and his personality. The following analysis of his work, emphasizing the theme of the book appearing in his work. Also is characterized Sládek position as a reader. The essential point of this work is to describe and analyze Sladek personal library in Zbiroh. [Author's abstract].
The role of books in the life of Josef Thomayer

The goal of the bachelor's thesis is to find and characterize the personal library and estate of the doctor and writer, Josef Thomayer and by the findings to draw his relationship to books and work with paper. At the beginning the thesis acquaints concisely with Josef Thomayer's life, his literary work and readers. The third chapter writes down the searching for his personal library of this scientist and artist in diverse institutions and it characterizes its content. The next chapter deals with Josef Thomayer as a reader and outlines his relationship to books and libraries in young and adult age. The fifth chapter deals with Thomayer's work with the paper, writing and office supplies, style of hand writing and graphical adjustment in the books. The last chapter presents important friends of professor Thomayer and their mutual gifts in the form of books. The thesis is completed by the list of pictures and photos with significant items of books and correspondence of Josef Thomayer.

Cílem práce je popis a analýza fondu Knihovny Náprstkova muzea z hlediska významu pro studium severoamerických kultur. Zahrnut je i životopis Vojty Náprstka jako zakladatele Náprstkova muzea a muzejní knihovny, s rozhodujícím vlivem na jejich vznik, vývoj a zaměření, čímž se v důsledku stala Knihovna Náprstkova muzea jedinečným zdrojem dokumentů o severoamerických kulturách na území České republiky. Práce je věnována dokumentům o severoamerických kulturách v historickém, speciálním i současném fondu knihovny, s přihlédnutím k jejich významnosti, či specifickým hodnotám. Na základě těchto dokumentů byla vytvořena i kapitola o významu severoamerických kultur, jakožto vyměření předmětu citovaných a popisovaných dokumentů. [Autorský abstrakt].
The book in the life and work of writer Bohumil Hrabal

Bakalářská práce představuje Bohumila Hrabala v roli čtenáře, vlastníka knih a spisovatele, jehož život byl s knihou a papírem neoddělitelně spojen. Úvodní část je věnována stručnému životopisu spisovatele, snaží se poukázat na významné mezníky v jeho životě, které ho dovedly až ke spisovatelské dráze. Další část se věnuje Hrabalovým čtenářským návykům, knihám, které četl, knihám, které ho inspirovaly k tvorbě. Jádrem práce je Hrabalův vztah ke knihám jeho práce s papírovými materiály, rozbor jeho strojopisů z pozůstalosti, rozbor knih, které Hrabal vlastnil a nyní se nacházejí v pozůstalosti. Text doprovází fotografická dokumentace Hrabalových knih a soupis knih, které hrabal četl, jenž vychází z rozboru jeho autobiografických děl. V závěru jsou získané poznatky shrnuty a krátce komentovány.
The role of book in the life of Konstantin Biebl

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the personal library of Konstantin Biebl and Konstantin Biebl's estate in the National Literature Museum. By the findings from this analysis to draw Konstantin Biebl's relationship to books and their influence on his work. The first chapter deals with the life and work of Konstantin Biebl. The next chapter deals with Biebl's relationship to the book and with the book as inspiration to Biebl's work. Another chapter is concerned with Biebl's personal library which summarizes external and internal characteristics of Biebl's library a large part of this chapter is devoted to exceptional elements in the books of the library. The last chapter presents the history and content of Biebl's literary estate held in the National Literature Museum. Thanks to this were found some facts noted in the previous chapters. Work is completed by photo attachments representing significant items of books and correspondence of Konstantin Biebl. There is also a full acquisition list of the personal library. The conclusion summarizes the findings which were done.
Providing online access to cultural heritage in context of selected issues of information politics.

1 Abstract Theses is devoted to some selected issues of cultural heritage online domain within context of information politics in which it takes a place. After dealing with terminology, including cultural heritage definition based on anthropological concept of culture and segmentation of cultural heritage according to UNESCO activities, the second chapter presents cultural heritage digitization and bringing online activities of European Union as a part of European information politics since 90s of 20th Century (important projects out of Europe are mentioned). Regarding to these politics the chapter focuses on participation of Czech Republic on putting European cultural heritage online. The third chapter is focused on college and university education in digitization and bringing cultural heritage online in USA and Europe, with a special focus on Slovac and Czech Republic. The fourth chapter sums up general characteristics of cultural heritage information systems and introduces some possible ways of their use in education and as information sources in libraries. The last chapter presents outputs of project devoted to development of digital library specialized on bringing online data obtained by research in private libraries.

(in English): The diploma thesis opens a new perspective on Jan Werich - famous Czech writer, playwright and actor. Its goal is to describe part played by books in formation of character, life and work of this eminent personality of Czech culture and social impact of his work. An important part of this work is the reconstruction of contents of Jan Werich's personal library. The thesis is based on analysis of Werich's literary work, analysis of collection of personal documents in Literary archive of The Museum of Czech Literature, study of documents in the archive of Theatre ABC and Prague City Archives. It is also based on testimonies of some close Werich's friends and on reader's survey "The books of Jan Werich". First chapter is concerned with Jan Werich's personal library. It describes the search for destiny of this library, on its probable current situation and on various sources for the reconstruction of its contents. It also contains information on Werich's work with a book, mostly on lending and borrowing books and on property marking of documents. The main part of first chapter is the reconstruction of contents of Jan Werich's personal library; its bibliogprahy forms an appendix to this work.
